Cute shop with lots of cute dresses. Sizes were too small for me but saw plenty of things that I would have liked, had they been in larger sizes.

I have shopped here since high school because they have such unique and colorful clothing, especially dresses. The prices are reasonable as well.

I swung into General Eccentric while strolling down Bardstown Road one bright and sunny autumn afternoon. Maybe it was the weather, maybe it was the caffeine rush from Safai, or maybe it was the friendly greeting I received when I walked in the door. Whatever it was, I had a good feeling about this place right from the beginning, and I was not disappointed. But first, I do have one qualm, so let me get that out of the way: they have a «no bag» policy, and require you to place your purse in a locker before entering a dressing room. Not being from the area, I can’t say if this is a necessary precaution, but it knocked the initial friendly vibe down a few pegs. Anywho. On to the good stuff. The layout of the store is very open and minimalistic. There is a natural flow from rack to rack, and a very organized feel despite having lots to look at. Lots of natural sunlight, and neutral tones for the floors and ceiling make for a very chill shopping experience. The selection of clothing is perfection: cute, variety of styles, and, most importantly, affordable! I managed to snag a dress and sweater for $ 80ish combined. Not exactly pocket change, but for quality clothing that flatters, it’s essentially a steal. To be clear, not everything I saw worked for me. But unlike the previous Unilocal reviewer, I tried my clothes on before buying them, so I knew I was getting something that did work for me. And with the wide selection you’ll find here, you’re sure to find something that works for you, too.
