Cute family owned bakery. Their banh mis run cheap, and their boba teas are cold, sweet and refreshing. Would’ve been better if they could produce more fresh foods, some of it on display looks like they’ve been there for awhile.

First off the workers at De lats were very friendly. I will say I honestly did not know everything on the menu, but the stuff I did know personally stemmed reasonably priced.(.50 for a pastry). Me and my gf got the honeydew smoothie and honeydew tea both with boba. The flavor for both of them was definitely 5* but neither of us were really feeling up to the boba that seemed to appear every sip or two. While the boba doesn’t have much of a flavor, the texture is something that you will either love or hate. That being said, I would definitely go again and order without the boba and see if I can up this place to a for sure 5*.

this is like a bakery ~ if you haven’t been. there is some seating, but the main thing is grab-n-go. you can get your banh-mi toasted or not(i toast @ home) everything here is pretty awesome. but the banh mi is The Reason i drive over for a delicious fix(only $ 3.50 each). desserts are excellent & pretty & tasty, the blended drinks are also very good. highly recommended! the Bread is The Best.

I do get a little disappointed when they’re all pit of boba since there isn’t another place that has good smoothie boba like de lat. The interior design would be a bit better if they take down the Christmas tree and move around some of their furniture. I like the smoothie to be ice and not water down, so I have to tell the guy to make it icy.

Awesome little Vietnamese bakery that also has bánh mì sandwiches. I was skeptical when I first walked in the door and saw that the sandwiches are pre made and in a cooler. But after my first trip here, the fact that i can walk in, get a sandwich and walk out in a minute or so makes it worth it. Not to mention it’s only $ 3.50. What a deal! The 4 in 1 is their main offering for a bánh mì, it includes 4 types of meat(I’ll edit this next time I’m there as I can’t remember what they are right now) and seasoned mayo. The veggies are separated in a bag so you can add them as you like. I always came in and just got a sandwich to go, no toasting it. Big mistake, I had my first one toasted the other day and wow did it make it that much better! You can dine in or get it to go, there is a small area with tables setup to the right after you walk in. If you go in and no one is there just be patient, I’m pretty sure it’s just a husband and wife that work here and one of them will come out to help you. They have a lot of other offerings like cookies, macaroons, teas, drinks, breads and pastries. This review is pretty much for the bánh mì, I should try one of their bubble teas next time I’m there.

I love coming here for boba. Honestly the only place I would go to because it’s great in flavor and always consistent. Yes, the banh mi is good(remember to toast it — they will do it there for you.) I like their pork onion bun too. Their selection of vietnamese food is authentic as it gets. Sometimes you get lucky and everything is full or you go there and there’s empty shelves. Things sell fast there. I don’t really care to sit around since the seating area isn’t appealing but there’s always tables if you want to enjoy your food. They make custom cakes there as well. I know a lot of people that get cakes made there because it’s not as sweet as the ones you buy in other stores. Just be sure to give them pics of the cake you want. & remember to bring cash. It’s $ 20 minimum to use a card.

My girlfriend and I went out of our way last weekend to come try this bakery. It was about half an hour drive from clarksville if I recall. We were really excited for some asian baked goods. The inside is nicely laid out and there are even tables for guests to dine in. However, we were quite disappointed with the selection. After seeing pictures of the self serve shelves and the bahn mi’s, we thought this was going to be an authentic asian bakery. Where are the egg tarts? I wish they had some asian buns and some baked goods with red bean filling. The bahn mi sandwiches were quite tough and lacked protein. It had a spongy slice of ham and a slice of red roast pork. The bread itself was so darn chewy. I’ve had much better bahn mi sandwiches outside of louisville. The good that came out of this bakery is the tapioca cookies and fruit cakes. We didn’t try the fruit cakes, but was glad to see they carried it. Tapioca cookies were so good at 50 cents each. Bubble tea offering was also a plus. Just to be clear, this is NOT an «authentic asian bakery». An authentic asian bakery wouldn’t offer gingerbread cookies, cheesecake, and chocolate chip cookies. These are all American deserts. It just happens to be operated by asian owners. They do however have fresh desert options at a good price for an nice area that probably lacks a bakery of this kind. I think this is as close as it gets to an asian bakery in the louisville area.

Best boba and banh mi in Louisville. The bread is no nice and fresh and it’s only 3.50 for a sandwich– what more could you want? Sometimes they have premade meals to buy, and preserved tamarind etc. they also usually have homemade meat rolls(cha lua etc) in case you wanna make your own banh mi at home! The cookies, cakes, and pastries aren’t typical American fare– less sweet, and a lot prettier! And the savory options are awesome. Bacon onion bun. Mmm

Yummy with great prices! The cakes and the bacon onion rolls are my favorite. The only complaint I have is that some of the cookies are kind of hard.

This is a pretty good little bakery. I didn’t make it over there until around 2pm and all of the Bahn Mi sandwiches were sold out by that time. I had read a previous review about getting there early in order to get a sandwich or two or they sell out but since this is the beginning of school, I had a zillion school physicals to perform for all the kiddos that the parents couldn’t get around to until now. :/The great thing was when I asked if there were any sandwiches left the sweet owner(who was cleaning at the time — even though the place was spotless!) said he would make me one! I asked for it to be toasted(because who doesn’t love toasted bread!!!) and he put me together an awesome sandwich. Seriously so DELICIOUS!!! Now, as far as the sandwich, this place deserves 5STARS. They are also a bakery(and this is why the 4 stars comes up so pay attention). I picked out two cookies, got 3 coconut & chocolate macaroons, three meringues, and a chocolate mouse cake.(Stop judging me!!) I was actually planning to take this goodness back to work with me and share it with my partner and the tech helping us.(I really was!) The problem was that when I got back I had a line of people waiting on me so it all went on the shelf. We were able to grab a piece here and there but I ended up taking the entire mouse cake home and one of the cookies. This meant that sweet tooth hubby got t2o share too and give his opinion. I give the bakery 3 stars because it was a miss on the cookies, meringues but a hit on the mouse cake. But that miss was a big one. The meringues tasted bad. Not just a little but like Yuck bad. I seriously Love meringues. Like horde/love them. As in I buy several buckets of them from Trader Joes and hide them. So when I bit into these meringues I wanted to spit them out. All 3 kinds. Same with the cookie. Just not good. :(So to sum up: Sandwich 5+ stars and Deserts 3.25 stars for an average of 4. Now this absolutely does not mean that I am not going to try other deserts because I totally am! But I won’t do the meringues again or the cookies. Totally thinking about buying extra sandwiches though to take home and feed the family! ;)

I have been coming to this vietnamese bakery since I moved to Louisville. They offer bahn mi(vietnamese sandwich) for $ 3.50, iced coffee/smoothies/boba milk tea for $ 3 – 3.50, and other baked goods like scallion bread and hot dog bun for $ 1.75. They have some cakes and other yummy desserts there too. I haven’t tried them, but my husband said they’re pretty good. I live in St. Matthew and I try to make the drive out here once a month to get the bahn mi because they are cheap and so delicious. They’re super easy to heat up at home in the mini oven toaster. I like to eat it with sriracha. It makes the sandwich taste SOOOGOOD. Anyways. There is no one like this in Louisville, so it sucks that I have to drive across town to get this stuff, but it is so worth it. They recently started closing on Monday-Wednesdays so make sure to come Thursday-Sunday. When you come on the weekend, there are a ton of people, so try to come early if you want to get some bahn mis.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go for sweets and bubble teas. While I still love their teas, I was bummed to drive all the way to that side of town to find they were out of boba. They did have jelly, but it’s just not the same in an avocado milkshake. While I wouldn’t fault them a one-time issue, I have found they often run out of flavors or ingredients. It’s such a shame, because they have some of the best teas otherwise. They’ve also greatly cut down on their offerings and changed their cake menu. The cake itself is way too sweet now. I would liken it more to an American cake than a Vietnamese one. I miss the mocha buttercreams I would find in Annandale and DaLat’s is no longer a good substitute. Their onion-bacon buns are still a wonderful savory snack, but their bahn mi need more vegetables and«wet» ingredients. Overall, I will definitely return for bacon buns and bobas, but I won’t walk in to «stock up» on whatever new things I find anymore.

I had seen and heard of this place for years, but it wasn’t until Unilocal that I was finally persuaded to go in and see what it was all about. First, let me say… I’m really not sure about the hours of this place. There are some hours posted on the door, but it’s missing some numbers. One time I tried to go at a time when I felt it should have been open(Haha.), but it was closed. I have now been here three or four times. First, bring cash. There’s a high limit to use a card. Second, I have never seen another person in here when I was here. Well, maybe once… a guy came in, bought a cookie, then left. Now, as far as what I’ve had… it was pretty good! There’s a good display of desserts; many are meringues. There are also chocolate chunk cookies and other varieties of cookies. They also have a number of drinks and Vietnamese sandwiches. I haven’t tried the dessert, but I did have my first Vietnamese sandwich here; it was pretty good! I’m not salivating over it daily, but it was fairly large and very filling, with a good variety of flavors. Back to the drinks, that’s why I started coming here. One of my good friends who lived here for about nine months was originally from New York City. She craved bubble tea(or milk tea with boba, as it’s phrased here… I’m still not 100% of the difference or if there was one) while here. She started going to DaLat’s… and kept going back. While I really like it, I’m not a bubble tea pro and haven’t had it at very many places. Since she was a pro, I still trust her opinion that it’s good. There are a number of flavors, and it’s not too sweet/sugary like it can be at other places. The boba is usually a little too cold though; I like to let my tea wait a little bit to moisten it up. It can be difficult to wait though… I just want to drink that goodness. I will note, one time I went for the milk tea with boba, but the man(who is usually working and I assume is the owner) was not there. The woman(assuming it was his wife) said she couldn’t make it, but she could make me a smoothie(Or something like that? I don’t exactly remember now.) with boba in it. That was fine too, though it would be nice if she could have made my original order. This place has grown on me and is SUPER convenient in an area of town with very few options in terms of dining and drinks(in comparison to other areas of Louisville). When I want my bubble tea and it’s open… it’s the place I want to be!

As a coffee shop this place is a disaster. I walked in, and the place was completely empty. There was a board overhead, but the only coffee drinks displayed were frappes. Not the worst thing in the world, but that’s also very limited. I might have asked more questions, but the lady behind the counter was clearly a middle-aged Vietnamese women, who could barely understand English as it was. I made my order as plainly as I could, and then I waited probably ten minutes for my frappé. That seemed long, since the places had no other customers in it. The price, $ 3.50 wasn’t bad for a frappé. But the location is a nightmare. Call it Southwest Louisville? I have family in the area, and I’ve never never been to this region before, and I really see no reason to go back. If you’re in the area, anyway. Like maybe you work in the industrial park, then maybe check it out, as the baked goods looked decent, and they have smoothies, but do not go out of your way to try to get coffee here. And as others said, bring cash, as the $ 20 minimum to run a credit/debit card is an outrage.

This was my first time here and I asked my sister why she was holding out on me, LOL! This place has Hot Dog buns!!! Last time I had one of those was at the Oriental grocery store in Orlando! They also had other nice looking pastries and cakes. I ate a mocha cake that was very good. I will be back for sure! The guy who served us was very friendly. Tip: Bring cash. There is a 20.00 minimum for credit/debit cards or they charge .25 extra if it below 20.00.

After a long, self-imposed abstinence from this irresistable bakery, I had to make a return visit. I am happy to report that Dalat is just as good as it’s ever been… and better! The owners have added a couple of wall shelves with self serve pantries of the baked goods. It really makes it feel like I am back in the best bakeries in Chinatown. Grab a tray, a pair of tongs and try not to overload that tray… try as you may, but you will fail miserably as you see row after row of yummy baked goods both sweet and savory behind the little windows. And yes, besides the bahn mi, they still have all those delicious, hard-to-name premade Vietnamese goodies. The service is still friendly and helpful. Also, they make wedding cakes! If you prefer the more Asian/European tastes or just do not like the usual, cloyingly sweet cakes, give them a try!

This modest shop in an unassuming strip mall offers house-made Asian-style pastries, Vietnamese-style pork loaves, bahn mi, boba tea, and other little surprises. We came mostly for the banh mi, which wasn’t earth shattering, but it might be the best we’ve had in town. The bread is reasonable — it’s advisable to have them put it through a toaster to warm it up. No Vietnamese mayo, but I don’t think they leave out the fish sauce. And it’s a bargain. The shop itself is lovely, but the dining area is a bit of an afterthought. I think most customers just get everything to go, which is understandable, especially since even the banh mi is pre-made and refrigerated.
