10÷25÷15 update from the front lines: Okay, listen up. I keep hoping this sad, sad phase will pass for my beloved Chop Shop. I went in for one final time today and am saddened to report that I will return no more. I immediately noticed that there were only three or four customers in the entire place. At 12:05!!! How did I get so lucky? The line is usually out the door at this time. Well…you know the counter — where you place your order? Please see the picture I am uploading. There was a cockroach laying on it’s back, feet up in the air. We are talking DEADCOCKROACHINFULLRIGORMORTIS, PEOPLE!!! It was literally inches from the bins of lettuce and veggies. The workers behind the counter didn’t notice it. They always ask if you want«crunch» in the salad… hold the crunch, please. Original post: I used to LOVE this place. Went here once or twice a week — it was a great, healthy alternative. But… something has changed this summer and I’m not sure what. The quality of lettuce has gone downhill and they are frequently out of major items, like tomatoes and salad dressings. Worse yet, I don’t find that out until I’ve stood in line and finally get my turn to order. Please have the decency to tell me about that BEFORE I stand in line for 20 minutes? I keep going back every couple weeks to see if they’ve rebounded, but today was the last straw: a cock roach almost crawled over my foot. I’m in mourning. I want my yummy, clean Chop Shop back.

I needed to update my review because Chop Shop seems to have gone downhill a bit since my initial visits. I can’t put my finger on the problem exactly, but the ingredients don’t seem as fresh as before. In fact, the last few salads I’ve had have been so unappetizing, that I’m completely turned off by Chop Shop. Whenever I’m deciding on lunch for the day, if Chop Shop comes to mind, my immediate reaction is «Yuck.» Not good. The concept is so unique and ingenious. Chopped up salads are the best salads. I love the idea, and initially, the product was wonderful and fresh. Not sure what happened. I hope Chop Shop turns things around.

In terms of salads, this place is the best! I know 5 stars may be a bit much but these salads are seriously as good as it gets. Boasting so many different options and just as many more toppings and dressings, you cannot find a better salad in town. We decided that a delivered salad would be a good way to spend lunch this cold Thursday at work. Me and a couple coworkers called around noon, but the delivery wait time was going to be 2 hours(which is definitely not the norm for that place). We decided against a long wait and just did carryout instead. I had the veggie delight and added feta cheese. Yum! I always enjoy this one because it has so many veggies including«not your average» toppings like beets, asparagus and hearts of palm. Such a tasty but healthy salad. They chop up everything right there in front of you so you know it’s freshly made! They also always give you the dressing on the side unless you ask for it to be tossed, which i think it a nice way to control how much or little you end up with on your salad. Both of my coworkers were just as pleased with their salads as well. Lastly, the staff are always friendly and pretty efficient in moving the line along, even right at lunch time.

I absolutely LOVE chop shop. The salads are always delicious and you can pick exactly what you want on it. No onions? No problem! You go through the line advising how you want your salad. At the end, they chop it all up into bite sized pieces and add the dressing of your choice. Although it’s slightly pricey for a salad, the staff is always friendly and the salads always fresh!

Expensive but if you are a salad lover I believe you will like it. The sizes are HUGE and there is always a line(that is a good sign). There is a very impressive list of options and everything is done right in front of you. I am not sure if I will return but that is because I am not a big salad fan.

I love this place! It’s the only reason I look forward to the days I have court downtown is to eat here. People used to make fun of me because I chop my salads up so finely but I don’t have to do that here because they do it for me! It can get kinda crowded during lunch time and there is only a few places to sit but most people get theirs to go. They also deliver if you have a $ 20 order.

I normally wouldn’t give five stars just to a lunch salad place, but I was pretty happy by the time I left. One of my colleagues introduced me to this place, and I love it. It’s within easy walking distance from work, and the salads range from just under $ 6 to around $ 10(I suppose you can build your own and make it crazy expensive). I had the Thai salad, hot(meaning plus canned jalapenos and sririracha sauce). It had edamame(not Thai, just fyi) and peanuts on it for protein. Their salads do lean meat-eater-friendly, but there was a shrimp option, and plenty of ways to get a salad without meat. I really wish they had some tofu option(here is where my Washington state self emerges). My salad was excellent, by the way. Big enough to satisfy me. Ingredients looked fresh. The long line moved along pretty well. I loved it and will be back.

A neighbor had started working there, so I thought to stop by to say ‘hi’, and I came out with a happy stomach, guilt-free! I had tried chop shop wrap(Baby spinach, bacon, feta, apples, craisins, strawberries and walnuts.) Very affordable, and fabulous taste– very fresh, as if right out of the garden. I’ll have to check some other dishes as Thai wrap, Kentucky gentleman wrap and veggie delight. They have so many choices in what you’d want, if you want added, or pick your own ingredients.

I really like this spot for a quick, guilt-free lunch. While they have an exhaustive menu of artisan salads(make it a wrap for no extra charge), you can also create your own. Unlike other salad spots, this one delivers satisfying portions! It’s vegetarian and vegan friendly, really affordable, and totally customizable for the picky eater. Wraps are not to be eaten in polite company, however. The nature of a ‘salad’ wrap is that it falls apart — totally worth it though. Service was friendly and fast, ingredients were plentiful and fresh, and at the right location and price, I’m a big fan!

If you haven’t eaten a salad at Chop Shop, you’re really missing out. This is one of my favorite lunch spots downtown(good news everyone, there is also a location in the east end!). You don’t want a heavy lunch that will send you into a food coma at your desk for the remainder of the day, but you also don’t want to eat something then feel hungry an hour later. I can understand you having reservations about eating a salad for lunch because of the latter, but really, the salads are so big that you will get full without wanting a nap and the hunger pangs will not return until dinner. Plus you don’t need to worry about the guilt of fast food! It’s an all-around win. The prices are perfectly reasonable and the line moves fast. There are tons of options and a plethora of ingredients to suit even the pickiest of eaters. All of this brings me back to my initial thought: If you haven’t eaten a salad at Chop Shop, you’re really missing out.

I really like Chop Shop for a fast, fresh take-out lunch downtown. The price seems to bother people, but the salad usually lasts me 1 lunch + a side the next day, and the ingredients are super fresh and plentiful, so I will gladly hand over my bones for their . The only salad I’m even interested there is the Chop Shop. Spinach, dried cranberries, feta(i substitute goat cheese), green apple, walnuts, bacon, and strawberries all chopped up together and tossed in balsamic vinaigrette — it’s something I dream of making at home but rarely have all of the ingredients at the same time. I’ve seen people enjoy other salads with other ingredients(they have many many options) but this is one time where I’ll stick with the same salad over and over.

Chop Shop has great fresh salads for a healthy lunch option. My biggest complain would be the price. It is not cheap for a takeout lunch spot. I suggest getting one of the salads already on the menu instead of building your own. It will save you a couple dollars. The ingredients are always fresh and the service is very fast. I really enjoy watching how quickly they can chop up your salad. This is a great spot for a midweek lunch splurge.

The food itself is worthy of more than three stars, but the price is a bit much for me and the reason I don’t go more frequently. If you like spinach and fruity salads, the Chop Shop salad with balsamic is a must. Sometimes the line is pretty long, but there are several backup plans in the area.

I really enjoy their salads. It is a great place to go to pick up your lunch fast. Only couple of tables but on a nice day you can get it to go and go eat outside across the street. Only real con is it is a little pricey for salad but they do give you plenty. My favorites are the Thai Salad and the Best Chef.

So it seems this place may be fine if you actually go into the shop. We, being unsuspecting people with no clue, decided to have our order delivered. There were several drinks missing from the order. There were several sides missing from the order. There were soups that were not ordered included in the order. And the soups had globs of fat floating on the top.. .truly terrible. The wraps themselves were ok – several in the party felt they were tasty. You have a tremendous choice of items to choose from to create your own wrap or salad. Spinach greens, feta cheese, blue cheese, asparagus, avocados, beets, craisins, red onions, etc.. .Oh! and there are several meats available as well to add to your salad or wrap. In the end, many of us ended up at our company café to supplement our meal. My wrap was ok, but drenched in dressing. I think I would have enjoyed it much more if the dressing were on the side.. .and if I had actually received the entire order. Ok place to eat – make sure not to order delivery. The food is ok, but gave it 3 stars because of the below the bar delivery service.
