Chong garden is a golden light in a bleak, dismal space called Dixie highway. My Wong thanks you Chong. *bows**gives peace sign*

The crab Rangoon is to die for. You can tell it’s made in house. Going back tomorrow to see how the rest of the family likes it.

My favorite Chinese Food comes from Chong Garden. I travel around the United States with my job and each time I order Chinese away from home I am always disappointed because nothing ever compares to Chong Garden. I’ve never had a dish that I did not love here. The service is quick and friendly…10 min ok? This is consistently 5 stars in my opinion. Now if they started a delivery service it would be a dream come true but certainly worth the drive nevertheless.

There’s Chinese and there’s Chong Garden. I’ve been eating here for years and have never had a bad dish. The staff and owners are very friendly and make sure that your food is of the best quality.

Yeah. OK. This place is pretty good. I have to admit… I seriously had my doubts. Typically, the Southend of Louisville doesn’t get much Unilocal traffic. And what Unilocal traffic it does get is usually overblown. Usually 1 stars because the waitress only gave them one refill, or 5 stars for a marginally good dinner. So when I saw 4 stars for Chong Garden — a restaurant in the shopping center that contains Wal-Mart… meh. Color me skeptical. But you know what? It delivered. The place is actually pretty good. As well, it is relatively cheap. And what’s more, the dude behind the counter was super nice. We all ended up with something different. I went with the authentic General Tso’s, of course. I don’t know what everyone else got. I really enjoyed my dish, and everyone thought that their food was great. You get a lot for the price. I couldn’t eat all of mine. There are two things keeping it from being 5 stars… * It is a very dated place. Could use a little TLC. Floors. Walls. Bathroom. But, it was clean. Don’t confuse dated with unclean. It’s clean, just old looking. * There was nothing that blew my doors off. It was a good place that served up good tasting food by super nice people. Not a chain? 4 stars for you. I’m glad I went. I’ll be back. This will probably be my go-to Chinese place in the Southend, from here on out.

Very good food and friendly staff! I got the chicken and cashews and it was really good but my husband got the Szechuan chicken and it was even better! There was so much food I couldn’t eat it all and have at least half of it for lunch tomorrow! We were the only people setting in the restaurant but quite a few people came in for to go orders.

We have never found a better Chinese place! I love it so much. They have the best crab rangoons and fried dumplings.

For a «fast food» Chinese restaurant Chong Garden is good. I wouldn’t say it’s the best Chinese place in Louisville, even in this price range(I won’t mention the wonderful restaurant by UofL). I definitely appreciate this restaurant more after reading all the wonderful reviews. Like others I have been eating here for years and haven’t had too many issues. I must be fortunate to not have a crapy neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I like their spring & egg rolls, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon and chicken teriyaki appetizer. For meals I like the garlic and cashew chicken dinners, chicken chow mei fun and the steamed chicken and vegetables. I would like to try a few things on their menu but they don’t always give descriptions so I’m not exactly sure what they are(nothing too crazy). I also REALLY like their fried donuts. I really appreciate all of the employees hard work because I always see the same people working.

Even though the lady always sounds angry this place is great. They stayed open for us to get our order in.

Yummy. I eat here every time in the area. I have tried quite a few of their dishes. All great!!! Love their egg roll. Great lunch value $ 5.05. Plus dinner combos that come with fried rice, egg roll, main dish, and a pop for 8 bucks give or take a buck.

Seriously a superb chinese eatery. Veggie lo-mein & bean curd homestyle are super. A great gem in the southend! If you’re a regular there they remember your order even if you haven’t been there in years!
