I stayed at a local hotel for business. I had lunch here and the lobster bisque taste like it was can soup, edible but not good and no actual lobster. The staff were young kids disinterested in doing their job.

Drinks were great! Had a bourbon something and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the rib eye with seasonal veggies and I was not impressed. My steak was rather tough… but the flavor was nice. Would I return? Maybe for a drink and appetizer but not for food.

Stayed at the hotel right across the street so decided to give his place a try. Sat at the bar and waited 10 min before asked what I want. There was only 1 bartender for the whole place. I don’t blame her she couldn’t possibly be able to keep up. Waited again forever to get my bill. Won’t be back. Food was just ok.

This is my second lunch time visit. We have always been seated pretty quickly. Both times we had pretty good service. I have asked the server for some recommendations on food. And both times they helped me make pretty good selections. From the the Cobb salad to the pick 2 option of sandwich and soup. Today I had the lobster bisque soup. It was a little water for my liking and lite on lobster. But the bacon turkey club was good. My lunch buddy selected the fried cod and said it was really good. The time before it was the glazed Salmon. The tea was made to my Southern syrupy liking. I will say it is a pricey for lunch. But there are limited options on this side of town.

Just like a TGI Fridays but for Cardinals fans. And obviously your steak does not come with«Jack Daniels sauce» it comes with«Bourbon Glaze»

Party of 6 seated promptly waitress very nice and service was good. The thing here is food did not meet expectations. Salmon over cooked ribs were so so the sauce was tasty. Mashed potatoes good. Been there done that not going back.

Ordered the salmon. It was the worst fish i ever had. It might have been cooked an hour before and then warmed up. It was like a hockey puck. Then they only took a portion of the entrée off the bill. Unbelievable. Overall bad experience. I would stay away.

Great service and great food in a sports bar atmosphere. The spinach artichoke dip was awesome! Whoever said poor service is dead wrong. Friendly helpful staff.

All the reviews said that the service sucked and and food was great. I can see the parking lot from my room and it was empty so I gave it a try. Let’s start with the bad… Price. Kinda a little high. Not super bad but high. A blue moon 22oz put me back $ 8.50. The lady ordered an apple martini and it was $ 8. We got the appetizer sampler who’s was pretty good. Everything tasted above par for that. She got a bbq pulled pork sandwich which she enjoyed. I got a burger between too grilled cheeses which was fantastic and well made. As I was saying before it was a slow night and service was good and kept up with us with ease. The place is huge. If they don’t have enough staff service would get bad quick so I can see where other reviews see that. Try them on a slow day and let them know they are almost there and maybe they can tighten up the few loose bolts.

I had the same experience as the fellow who previously commented. Flew in this morning for my family reunion and wanted to take my dad to lunch so we chose this place based on its close location. We were seated immediately. We sat and chatted. And waited… And waited… 15 minutes pass by and by this time I have literally given my dad a full lesson on how to download apps to his phone. A couple is being seated next to us by the same hostess. My dad and I chat some more. I look up at the couple who were just seated and they have drinks already and are ordering with the waitress… Wtf? I look the waitress right in the eyes and she looks right at me. She finishes taking their order and walks right past us again. By this time we are wondering if we are invisible. I get up and walk around towards the kitchen and ask the young lady for the manager. By this time I am standing up at our table. A few minutes go by and another waitress comes and asks me if I asked for the manager. I tell her yes we did and that we were never greeted, offered water or anything the whole 20 plus minutes we’d been sitting. She proceeds to apologize and asks if we want to order anything. By this time I tell her no thank you we decided to leave. As we reach outside to find another destination the actual manager comes out after us and ask us what’s going on. We tell her what happened and she apologizes profusely and asks if we like to stay and have lunch on the house. She was sweet but at this point I was just disgusted at this place I just wanted to get out of there. I politely declined and found another place to spend my money… Shame on this establishment !!

We waited 10 minutes after we were seated. Service was slow. People behind us seated 5 min after us and they got served 1st. Our appetizer came with the dinner instead of before. Good was OK

As Kentucky fan, I tried this place out with a date. As a reviewer, I am trying to be fair. Decent food. Prices are way too high. The food is like a mix between Bob Evans and Red Robin. Difference? The number of dollar bills you spend while dining here. Cardinal Café is basically a 3-star restaurant pretending to be a 5-star restaurant. It’s not. Not even close. Lower the prices. Your food isn’t that awesome.

The chicken tenders were good and the salad was amazing!!! Best salad ever. The bathrooms were on the opposite side of the restaurant, and a hike, which was blah, but I will get over it. The memorabilia was large and the tv’s at each table were nice!

Had a good time. Food was good. Eat there 3 time in one week. Service was good in dinning room. We wear at the trucking show and the restraint was packed . 3 stars because bathrooms could have been better. Would go back not a lot of choices this part of town.

The service was pretty horrible the selection of food seemed very wide. The issue for the one star my sandwich came to the table cold after a 25 minutes not to mention a tall beer was 8.45. That bs over charge while they did not mention prices on the menu

Okay, I’m pretty disappointed. I should’ve listened to the reviews. But I’m hard headed and my fellow Unilocalers have led me astray before. So I gave this place a shot. Nice looking place. It has the university’s memorabilia everywhere. It’s clean. The food however, is a much different story. It’s not disgusting but it seems as if they could do better if the tried. And they clearly give no fucks. I might come back for drinks but that’ll be all I’d rather eat at Arby’s across the street…

Service was mediocre at best. Food was surprisingly good. Probably would have gone with 2.5 stars if it was an option. Beer was cold. Cheese sticks were commercial but the Honey nut chicken salad had a really nice combination of flavors, almost unique even.

After ordering the same thing for 3 years, I call today to get my usual and for some reason they can’t mix hot sauce and bbq sauce together to make hot/bbq wings. No problem, there are many restaurants in Louisville that will.

My daughter and I were freezing at the game Saturday so we walked down to the restaurant before the game ended.(shhhhhh) They have plenty of televisions around so we could still watch the game and be warm and cozy at the same time. We parked here too for this particular game so we were given a free appetizer. We had some spinach dip as the appetizer, I got my favorite French Onion soup and my daughter got a platter with bbq ribs and wings. She also got some house salad. I had been there years ago for one of my birthdays, but all I remembered was the Lobster Bisque soup. The waitress we had Saturday was adorable. Her and my daughter hit it off and they were hilarious the entire time. The beers are priced reasonable and there is a big selection in food. I’d go there for sure again.
