I was a member for years. It is the best gym ever. It is clean and modern. They have great classes and a towel service. The pools are warm and clean. I couldn’t afford it with other expenses popping up.

Delivers on exactly what it promises! It’s a high end health club that is hardly ever as busy as another chain gym. There is not much in the way of bodybuilding but the personal training services and physical therapy are top notch.

I LOVETHISPLACE. I DONTGOASMUCHAS I SHOULD. I left this gym for a while to go to a less expensive gym, i was not happy i went back to milestone. Its worth it. There are plenty of classes and equipment. They open at like 5:30 am and stay open till 10pm. I cant see going to another gym. They hav personal trainers, a café, and oasis spa. They even have a child care center.

It is almost always true that you get what you pay for. Milestone Wellness Center may be the most expensive gym in Louisville, but it is also the BEST. If you have the $$ to spend, and the dedication to be physically healthy, then you absolutely must check this gym out! However, if you are going to the gym just to look cool or find someone to date, then don’t bother and just look elsewhere. This gym is unpretentious, and it is not at all intimidating. The staff is great, as well as the members. The equipment are all up to date and are in great condition. They also have training specialists on the floor to help you if you don’t know how to use an equipment. The locker rooms are top notch. They are huge and spotless. There are also dressing areas with hairdryers, curling irons, deodorants, lotions, and hairsprays. It’s perfect for a daily workout-then-office routine. In addition, they have group classes– both in land and in water, held almost every hour every day. So far, I have attended pump, stretch & abs, core circuit, yoga, double trouble bootcamp, kickboxing, and aqua bootcamp. They are all so much fun and motivating. The instructors are all awesome in a way that they will want you to do well, but will also not force you into doing something that you really can’t perform. I highly recommend this gym, especially to people living around the St. Matthews area. It is easier to keep up with going regularly if you live close by. There will be no excuse to skip a day if you’re only 5 – 10 minutes away!

The best gym in Louisville. Contrary to the other reviews that mention the age of the members, I’ve seen members of all ages working out… from early 20’s to over 80. Yes, there’s a rehab section to the gym which I think is great. I’ve been to physical therapy a few times, and now, if I need to go again, I can go to my gym. Everyone is friendly and supportive. The Café has some of the best food I’ve tasted as a gym, and it’s healthy. And the locker room is so clean with fresh towels, lotion, hair dryers, soap, etc. There’s no need to bring your own lock for the locker, all lockers have digital locks that accept your own numeric code. Yes, it’s more expensive than other gyms in town but i’ts worth it.

My husband and I were gifted a 5 day pass to Baptist East Milestone. Thus far, we have attended a beginner’s pilates class and a beginner’s yoga class. We had a lovely experience with pilates. Rob is a kind and supportive instructor. My qualm is with the 8 a.m. Beginner’s Yoga on Saturdays with Anne. My husband is brand new to yoga and we both felt as though Anne’s approach to his novice lacked warmth and tolerance. She cited his misunderstanding of her instructions as a refusal to relinquish control and stressed to him, and the rest of the class, her authority in the classroom and the disruption of his lack of synchronicity. She proceeded to inform the class that she readily asks students, who do not follow her instructions, to leave her classes at Yoga East because their presence disrupts the cohesion of the classroom. We found these statements irrelevant and confrontational as we were merely trying to learn and comply with the practice of yoga. Perhaps we didn’t execute some of the poses correctly but this was not an act of defiance but a lack of experience! I am not prone to exaggeration and I am recounting this experience as it occurred. I do not recommend Anne’s yoga classes for beginners. Her demeanor lacks the spirit of compassion that I am accustomed to in yoga. I find Baptist Milestone a great center for exercise and growth but Anne’s instruction contradicts this effort.

Great gym in Louisville. I visit with guest passes when I’m in town, but I was a member some years ago when I lived there. The quality is still phenomenal, particularly if you’re attending classes(as I do when I’m in town). For classes, I recommend Tami’s yoga(she’s so funny and nice), and Rebecca’s core class has been kicking my ass since I was in high school(think: planks and pikes on a resistance ball, etc. … for 45 minutes). If you’re visiting town, see about getting a guest pass, but usually you have to know a member … worth a try in any case.

It is pricy at $ 70/month, yes, but the facility makes you want to work out! I never have to wait in line for the equipments, which are very new and cleaned almost constantly. There are tons of classes almost every hour, ranging from kickboxing to cycling to pilates and zumba. They also got a Bollywood dance workout! The instructors in the class are always welcoming and provide helpful tips to newbies. The aquatic center is nice as well with a hot tub, sauna, large lap pool, and a luke warm therapy pool. I love that the pool area is always warm, I can pretend I’m in a tropical place right in the middle of winter. The locker area is spotless, completely stocked with fresh towels, hairspray, lotion, hair dryer, deodorant and soap in the showers. My absolute favorite part is the people who workout here. The clientele is a bit older, they’re friendly, encouraging, welcoming and makes the work out environment less intimidating.

I’ve been a member at Milestone since 2007, save for a brief foray with the St. Matthews Urban Active in 2008, and the difference is truly night and day. Attracted by a drastic reduction in membership fees(over $ 70 a month compared to less than $ 30), I left Milestone for UA figuring an elliptical was an elliptical. While this is somewhat true, no one’s going to use a membership to a gym that’s crowded, full of broken machines, constant sales pitches in the form of «free» personal training sessions, and clogged toilets(this happened at UA on a regular basis). Milestone, with its myriad of workout spaces(including several cardio and weight areas, an indoor track, spin room, pool, etc.) never feels crowded. The machines are always working(in part due to the 4 – 5 days they shut down every summer for repairs), everything is clean, and the locker room is one of the best in the city. The crowded class schedule alone is worth the hefty price tag. LOVE the spin classes, and especially the unique Tuesday duathlon class which alternates being the spin bikes and intervals on the indoor track. Milestone is worth every penny.

This is a great gym – the best Louisville has to offer. However, with all of the wonderful features and accolades, if you are a serious athlete, or even just mildly so, prepare to be really, really irritated whenever you visit. ANYONEBORNBEFORE1982, BEWARE. The gym caters only to the elderly and those in Baptist East rehabilitation. If you want to swim laps from 9AM-8PM, forget it – the lap pool will be reserved for various water aerobics classes(even though there is a 92 degree therapy pool). There are probably only half of a dozen members whom actually swim laps; most just walk laps – in their own lanes, of course(for reference, there are only five lines, you do the math). The weight room will be full of husbands(urged by either wife or doctor) sitting around, watching ESPN and Fox News, and grunting through a quick rep once every hour. Cardio is the place to be – that’s where all of the tvs and magazines are. The sauna is nice if you’re okay with being confined in a hot room with someone, spewing exercise advice, whom has type II diabetes, a sore on their leg that just won’t heal, and 200 extra pounds of raw experience. Relaxing. Though this gym is antithesis of Urban Active, with their trashy girls and brobros, it is equally focused on making people«feel good about themselves» rather than, I dunno, FACILITATINGFITNESS.

This gym is phenomenal! Period. I used to belong to Urban Active, but it felt like such a Barbie doll fashion show. Newsflash: I don’t head to a gym for showing off… That’s what nightclubs are for, sillies! Facilities are impeccably clean, cardio options are endless, and so are the class choices. I have always felt welcome in everything I choose to participate in. The class options alone pay for the membership to this super fab health club. I have gone to yoga and deep H2O(a water cardio class), but always hear the folks in the PUMP classes burning up a more than decent sweat. You can also do cycling, pilates, zumba, and a ton of other classes. The water facilities are nice too. You can do lap swimming, chillax in the hot tub, or hang with the seniors in the warm pool– not quite sure what that’s for, but it is always full. The locker rooms are sooooo luxurious, also! Nice self-refreshing steam room, tons of spacious and private shower stalls, and self-locking lockers. They also have a laundry service, so you never have to lug around your wet towels from home to gym– a HUGE plus for me. You could also opt into their gym clothes laundry service– it is $ 26\month. I prefer to do my own, but if you can afford it, the service is there. On your way out, don’t forget to stop by the Wellness Café for some yummy and wholesome munchies. It would be nice if they were also more environmentally friendly– they do use styrofoam quite a bit– so if the health of Mother Earth is on your mind, they can spoon out your favorite smoothie or protein shake into your re-usable cup brought from home– no probs! And don’t forget to stop by your local Republic Bank ATM for some cash that you so desperately need. Staff is more than friendly– roaming fitness specialists are helpful when you are using a machine incorrectly. They also offer monthly challenges. This place will keep you on your skinny little toes!

I joined this gym when I moved to Louisville and have loved it. Higher fees than other gyms but facility is huge, clean, and extensive list of free classes. I have only had rates increase once and only $ 1-$ 2 if I remember correctly. Never have to wait for machine because there are plenty of spaces to work out. Café has lots of healthy food items that my sister and I love!

I joined this gym because pilates is my work out of choice, and it’s closer to my side of town than any where I previously took classes. I have been very pleased with my entire time here. Not only do I find everyone friendly, I find the place to be spotlessly clean. This is by far the nicest public locker room and locker room I have ever been in, hands down. If I could live in the bathrooms, I might. I find all the machines to be maintained, and there are so many things here which are offered nowhere else, like a banked track. Yes, you might pay $ 20 more per moth to go here, but if you are really just a single women trying to work out, this place has none of a «meat market» feel and is very comfortable. I love this place, and I have taken on many new classes that I’ve found to be great. Highly recommended. There’s even a snack bar with wifi. I completely trust and utilize the childcare here, as well. So I understand, working out with the 40 plus crowd might not appeal to you, but I’ve found my niche here and I really do enjoy this gym

Great gym. 3 different sections for weight training and Cardio, over 200 classes a month and some of those are aquatic. How cool is that. Definitely worth the membership fee.
