My kind of dive bar-Fall City on tap(yes-awful but i had to try it) not the biggest selection of liquor and beer but enough. Neighborhood joint that is the first stop on the Bambi Stroll or Bambi Stumble if your so inclined-my kinda joint to be honest. Nice folks!!!

New ownership has sure turned this place around! So glad due to its close proximity to home. People rave about the great burgers but the wings are wonderful as well. Prices are great and good selection of drinks. The service is friendly as well as a great group of regulars.

Under new, very enthusiastic and involved ownership. The last owner, though well intentioned, tried to turn Bambi into something it wasn’t, and as they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Expect it to return to its rightful seedy, yet respectable place in Louisville. Can’t wait to revisit!!!

Please note: This review is based on drinks only. I hope to someday soon go back for food! So there was once a boy who was about to turn the big 3 – 0, and he decided to celebrate the day like he was turning the big 2 – 1: with the infamous Bambi Walk down Bardstown Road. The Bambi Walk is so named because no matter how many bars you drink at along the way, you have to start at Bambi Bar.(A brilliant marketing move on the part of Bambi Bar, if I do say so myself.) So at about 2 p.m. on a Saturday, the group of five of us ambled our way into this small bar, which is about three miles from the Bambi Walk’s designated ending point: Phoenix Hill Tavern. I had never been to the Bambi Bar before, but was immediately struck by the friendliness of the lady behind the bar. She seemed used to having younger people come in for the walk, though it was clear she knew her regulars quite well, like family. Everyone else who walked in the bar behind us was greeted by name. Most were older men, who watched the football game on the bar’s TVs over beer and burgers. And the prices were definitely not too shabby. I saw a sign advertising two Bambi burgers with fries and two domestic beers for $ 20 on weekends. The burgers smelled delicious, and I’m really hoping to go back and eat one myself very soon. But we had to drink our beers and venture further on our quest. And just so you know, the Bambi Walk is possible. While I had to bow out for a bit to do some work, the rest of the group was able to complete it after about 12 hours and 17 other bars. A long day and night, indeed.

This is the best neighborhood bar. Pitchers of Amber bock, wings, cheese balls and burgers you can’t beat for the price! Nothing frilly but a great dive. Always have Jell-O shots on hand!

Has become«our place» for several coworkers and I. It’s a dive, but who doesn’t love a dive? We LOVE the cheese balls and Bambi burgers. Also love the picnic tables outside. When the weather allows, it’s a great place to enjoy a bucket of beers with great friends.

FAN. The Bambi is extremely random. The prices aren’t honestly that cheap, but it’s a strange divey bar in the otherwise(mostly) fancy Highlands. There are some good random $ 0.25 arcade games, there’s an okay about of beer and food happening, but really I like it cause it’s never crowded, so I can shamelessly come here with 6 friends and have plenty of space.

Bambi is a hole in the wall dive bar. However, if you like seedy, weird, dirty bars, which I do, you’ll feel right at home here. Which I do. They have burgers and beer. That’s all they need. The burgers are tall and juicy and fantastic. They won’t guarantee that your burger will be served at the cooking temp you asked for and they will not apologize if you receive your burger well done when you ordered it Medium. I don’t blame them, they are a bar, not a steakhouse. Hope to see you here sometime.

This place could be a 1 star on any given night. There are some shady characters hanging out at this joint, and it is very much a joint. It’s basically a biker bar so keep that in mind. Now let’s talk about why it’s good. Bambi Burgers are greasily delicious. The Bambi Walk is a right of passage for any Louisville native. The location also marks the point where Bardstown Road goes from lame to cool. I guess you could look at it the other way around too. Bambi is a staple bar here in Louisville, and it just is what it is.

Great little neighborhood bar — try the Bambi burger or the Baby Bambi with steak fries.
