Ace Custom Tailors

Ok, the universe has exacted a little payback. I am now feeling quite contrite for my critic’s pan of Ace. I went back today and received my clothes along with numerous apologies and refusals of even half payment. All is well. Things happen, and while customers are affected, customers (and business owners) are human and life is merciless at times.

A+! My husband required very last minute tailoring of his wedding suit. I believe he showed up after the shop was closed for the day, but the wonderful owner opened the door and was more than willing to help once my husband explained our wedding was in less than 48 hours. The tailoring was expertly done. We often drive by and comment about how lucky we were to find this shop. Go there for genuine, quality service.

I had an intricate bridesmaid dress that needed some altering and the owner did a wonderful job! He’s polite and professional and the dress looks fantastic. Sometimes I have to get things tailored more than once, but he did a fantastic job at a good price. I will be using them again!

I’ve gone through a few tailors since moving to Louisville and have finally found one that provides consistent quality and is pleasant to do business with.
I’ve used Harry for day-​to-​day tailoring (hemming pants, shortening sleeves, slimming shirts, etc) and he’s always timely and reasonably priced. I recommend Harry for these kind of jobs but where he really shines is in the difficult or custom tailoring department.
Harry has completely rebuilt the shoulders on a of jacket I had from before I lost some weight; anyone will tell you that rebuilding jacket shoulders is no easy task and that a lot of tailors won’t even touch the job. Jacket came back looking fantastic, fitting better than it ever had before.
He’s also made me a suit from scratch and it fits and looks great. I’ve got a large drop (shoulders to waist) and uneven shoulders and he accounted for all of that. Suit fits like a glove and the attention to detail is impeccable (reinforced hems, reinforced stitching, etc).
This may seem like an oddly detailed review, but as someone that appreciates a good tailor, I would have killed for a review like this about a year ago before burning time and money at lesser-​skilled alternatives in the area.

You know that adage that states you should always get your clothes tailored. Well you should get your clothes tailored because when you do people always notice. Ace Tailors is fantastic at making me feel like all my clothes were designed just for me!
I have had everything from Derby dresses, silk gowns, broken zippers, and patterned outfits altered and all of them have come back in perfect condition. I have also lost weight dropping me down two dress sizes so I took my favorite dresses in to be re-​fitted for a cruise.
I had my dresses back by the time of my cruise and they were all tailored so perfectly that you could not even tell an alteration had occurred. Turn around time for Ace Custom is normally no more then a week.
My lack of the fifth star is because some alteration places will dry clean and press your garments, Ace is not one of those places. I am not sure if it saves me money, but the costs are pretty resonable.
I will keep bringing my clothes back to Ace Custom Tailors because this business fits me like a glove!
