This is our place to wind down the week. Our first time there, we spent almost 5 hours just talking and meeting new people. It’s a very chill environment and we make new friends each time we go. So atmosphere gets a solid 5 stars. Also, each time we go, there are new beers to be had. It’s great if you’re wanting to try an array of different beers brewed locally or those hard to find brews you’ve probably never heard of. One of my favorites is the Meade(made in NH) Ooooh so great! They also have slushy machines that normally carry a wine slushy, bourbon slushy and a signature slushy(I’ve seem mimosa & Bloody Mary). Oh! And they also have wine and bourbon for you non-beer lovers(apparently they exist?) So selection gets a solid 5 stars. But most importantly, we love the owners. They’re welcoming and genuinely down-to-earth good people. It’s so comfortable right when you walk in. There’s two places where I feel at home: my house and 3rd Turn. Yep, this church-turned-lodge-turned-brewery gives me the feel goods(not just the beer buzz feel goods) … And that’s why it’s 5 stars.

They have something here that is wonderful every time I come in. I came here to do my homework, I’m here for new years eve, I’m here on weekends when I don’t even plan on coming.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve heard it referred to as Jeffersontown’s «Holy Grale» by several people. I absolutely agree, and if 3rd Turn had a selection of imports, I think they would be even better. The church atmosphere is inviting and beautiful with the accompaniment of the unfinished wood architecture that makes up the actual bar area. The 20 rotating beers, impressive selection of bourbon, and a rotating selection of frozen slushes make this literally a place where there’s something for everybody, whether you’re looking to have a drink and relax with friends or a front row seat to your favorite teams on their televisions. On top of everything else, the staff is super friendly and incredibly devoted to great craft beer. I am proud to have 3rd Turn in my neck of the woods, and I cannot wait to try their propriety beer in the future.

Super cool spot in J-Town. It’s very chill, so check your drama at the door. Located in the heart of J-Town, very easy to find, with a large parking lot in the back. The building is an old church, with beautiful stained glass windows, exposed brick walls, wood floors. There are lots of seating options, suitable for any party size. Last night I was there with about ten other people, so we opted to sit at two large farm tables. If you’re in a smaller group, I’d recommend claiming the comfy leather couches. They have a large variety of craft beers available for $ 5. But you guys! The bourbon slushie is to die for! Order one! Order two! Order three! You’re not the DD, right? They don’t have beer of their own, yet. But they will. I’m definitely looking forward to that. They also don’t serve food, but you can bring your own or order delivery from somewhere nearby. There are menus to local restaurants on the table. My group ordered from a few different places, including pizza from Loui Loui’s. Have you had Loui Loui’s? You should. 3rd Turn Brewing would be a unique event space, if you’re looking for that sort of thing. So, yeah. 5 stars from me, for sure.

I am so glad this place opened in JTown. Let’s give it lots of business! They have an incredible list of revolving beers. I didn’t think to bring a growler, but I will next time, but they do sell them, if you need one. It is a cool setting, in an old church. The employees and owners are all helpful and informative. If you are not driving and try a lot of beers, which you will want to do, I suggest going out the front door and not the back door, with all those stairs… I am hoping for the success of this bar/brewery. Can’t wait to try their beer. There is no food, but you can bring or order your own. We just brought a snack mix, which went well, but ordering a pizza would be perfect.

Best.brewery. Went to 3rd Turn for the first time this weekend, loved it so much that we took some friends the next night. The ambiance and vibe is great — it’s in an old church and I loved the openness of the place. We walked to the bar and the owners were extremely helpful with recommendations and letting us try a few. All beers were $ 5, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than similar places… Cough cough Holy Grale. They even have wine and bourbon slushies for $ 7. WINE slushies people. They’re brewing their own beer, and it’ll be ready in about a month — can’t wait for that. No food made in house, but there’s menus on the tables for delivery from local food joints. Do yourself a favor and head to 3rd Turn. Seriously won’t be disappointed.

Gah, I’m reluctant to write this review because I’m afraid this place will be swamped once the cat is out of the bag. 3rd Turn is one of the best bars in the city. The venue, an old church, is stunning and spacious, and their rotating 20 craft brew taps provide something for everyone– at a great price(everything is only $ 5). They don’t have a food menu, but they do have some small snacks available and you can order in from one of the four pizza joints within walking distance. There’s probably other food around as well, but with Loui Loui’s down the street, what else would you want with good beer? 3rd Turn is Holy Grale without the pretension, high prices, crowd, and drive from the east end. Even though 3rd Turn has a similar-sized crowd each night, there’s plenty of room for everyone to sit down and breathe. Plus, if you’re not a beer fan(or if you are, but are plagued by friends who aren’t) there’s a full selection of bourbons and wines, as well as wine and bourbon slushies. There’s really no demographic that isn’t covered here. My two complaints(and they’re small) is that they often leave the doors open to let some air in, but it gets a little chilly, and that they have no outdoor space. But the first is easily remedied with a light jacket and they’re putting in a beer garden, to be opened next spring/summer. Seriously, before you drive all the way from Jtown to Nulu, check this place out. I’ll wave to you from the bar!

This place. My goodness. Where to even start? Beautiful space — 5 stars all the way. The«before» Moose Lodge pictures really show the blah that they started with and the beauty that this ownership group was able to bring out of this old building in Jeffersontown. What a transformation! Gorgeous stained glass church windows, original brick, hardwood floors, spacious seating, easy flow from the large first room through the back to the secondary sport bar-like seating and back porch, comfy leather couches that deserve some cozying types lounging there for an afternoon…:) Attention to every detail. Way to go, guys, very classy and comfortable. The service — 5 stars. Relaxed, glad to see you, knowledgeable and friendly. Sit at the bar area long enough and my hunch is they’ll sit down and have a sip or two right along with you(not confirmed of course, but give me a few visits and I’ll test that theory). The beer — an unknown, leading to that nagging 4-star rating for the moment. 5 weeks in business and they don’t yet have their brewery area set up yet so it’s going to be awhile before we get to taste a true 3rd Turn brew. It happens. Luckily they have a nice selection of locals on tap in the grand, supportive tradition of the craft brew community and I had a chance to try some nice beers nonetheless. It works for now but I saw some of their equipment getting ready and am really looking forward to getting a sampler of their signature stuff! Its a brewery, that’s where the magic happens after all. Long story short, I could definitely become a regular of 3rd Turn Brewing if I were a wee bit closer. Since I’m not, I won’t mind moseying over to J-town for a destination brew often. 3rd Turn is a promising addition to the Louisville craft brew scene.

This place is amazing! Tons of space inside and ample parking. They have a ton of different beers on tap that are constantly rotating. I was chatting up a couple of the owners and they definitely know about brewing beer and all the different styles of beer that are out there. I was surprised to see that they had a couple of different sours. I can’t wait until they start brewing their own beer!

Discovered this gem while at the Gaslight festival and was just in awe of this place. So many great choices on tap and also cool slushy options. They don’t brew their own just yet but soon enough that’s the plan. Love the look of the woodwork and grandness feel as you walk into an old church. Couches for relaxing while enjoying a brew are ideal. Tables outside are also a nice option, food truck inclusive.
