They mixed up the photos on the CD and not the ones I ordered. After calling them to rectify, I was insulted and told that I have to pay again. Dealing with them left a nasty taste. Avoid if you can. Take you own camera, at least the pictures are actually of you!!!

Great quality photos of my group on the rapids(we were with the Pirate Rafting Company), as well as photos of me jumping from the tall rock next to the ‘gunsight’ rapid/rock, and they’ll burn them to a CD for you! The staff member who had our photos for us on her laptop was very nice, as well. The only drawback is the pricing, especially given that the photos are digital(so it’s not like you’re offsetting costs of film used that was not purchased), but that seems to be the unfortunate norm at event photo places – I think people would be much more inclined to purchase the photos if the pricing wasn’t so steep. Luckily, they do offer batch pricing, and I bought all of our photos(and they take a LOT of photos) on a CD and split the cost with friends, so it ended up being more reasonable, but the cost still seems a bit high.

We had a great rafting experience thanks to a deal. Afterward we were told that two different photography companies would have pictures of us for purchase from our trip down the rapids. We checked out the photos at both places but found the one we liked best(pictured) at Whitewater Photos Vita*Boating. Both places had comparable prices and both accepted the same coupon, that you needed to have in-hand but was available from the rafting company.(waste of paper) We ordered an 8×10 for $ 19.95(!!), minus the $ 2 coupon, PLUS $ 5.00 s/h fee! Pretty expensive for ONE picture. Just because both places think it’s okay to overcharge people, doesn’t make it okay. The only redeeming part of this was the picture finally came a week or two later and the delivery person left it outside our home and the envelope was hit with rain. The picture inside was destroyed, but since it was the end of summer the company sent us out a CD with our image as a replacement. We appreciated that a lot. For $ 24.60 you can buy a single picture of your rafting trip, but thinking back, that money might be better spent toward going on another trip instead.

These guys have the best vantage points on the South Fork American. I’ve been rafting and kayaking for ten years and I haven’t been disappointed by them yet. Their shop is always lively as compared to the other guys dark arcade atmosphere with the pic of the moron we had as governator hanging behind the cash register. Last week the owner gave me a ride while I was hitch-hiking back to the pit-in. Don’t take my word for it. Compare their pic’s and service with the other guys… if you’ve got time to waste in the other shop
