What Happened? OK– I admit it, I cannot make a flour tortilla to save my life– they are easy to make, especially if you buy the mix, and most can do so with no problem. This lil gringa cannot– no matter-SO– I buy them. I WAS a loyal patron of Albuquerque Tortilla Factory burrito style flour tortillas. They were the perfect size and thickness for manly sized burritos. My husband doesnt think he has had a meal unless it has been rolled up in a tortilla with chili in the mix. The thickness provided the necessary«roll ability» and the flexibility made the burrito puncture free. Boy am I disappointed. I purchased two packages– opened one and discovered that the tortillas are veneer thin– half the thickness they were– when you warm them on the griddle– you who know– know this is the only way– they dry out and are all but impossible to roll– mind you– eggs, potato cheese n chili breakfast burrito– made its way through this tortilla. Im tellin ya– I had the same success rolling this thing as I would have trying to roll saltines. Fed this one to the dogs, and tried again. Determined this time to carefully monitor for the bubbles– only warming briefly on each side… same issue– what??? HOLYPETE! So– continuing in faith– I set those aside– and opened the second package– same disappointment. I have to wonder if they are now rolling these puppies out on the«super squish to increase profits» setting. They are thinner than a thin corn tortilla=I would take a pic, but the flash would just shoot through and all you would see are little brown spots floating… Not happy– taking them back and going to try one of the many other brands– I hear Grandma’s are pretty tasty– smaller but tasty– as for hubby– he will have to learn to enjoy two small instead of one«hungry gringo» size.
