I was very hesitant to try out this place because it’s always empty. I figured the food must not be that great if they neve rave anyone inside. I was wrong. It’s pretty good. I had the chicken fried rice which was tasty! Also tried the beef and broccoli and it was good. Ordered chicken chow mein and it was good but a little too greasy. Other then that, the food was very tasty. Wish they had more customers!

I love good Chinese food having lived in China long ago and being a student of Chinese medicines. I believe the secret is fresh ingrediants cooked quickly with light oil, not greasy or overly seasoned. The China Palace failed in every way when I recently had lunch there. Very gooey over cooked main course with greasy fried won ton and spring roll on the side, even the soup was yucky. To top it off was a very inattentive waiter.

Very good food Would recommend everyone to enjoy such a palace!!! Even with one man running the kitchen and front of the house the food didn’t suffer!!! the Asian Prince himself would be honored to dine at such a place

Best Chinese joint in Los Osos! The pot stickers are wonderful and their soups are always a good choice. Good service too!

Middle of the road American-style Chinese food: not great, not gross, but nothing special. I live nearby and I like Chinese food, but I doubt I’ll go back. A note about how I rate: It seems to me that people mean very different things by the stars they give in a review. Here’s what I mean: 5 stars means that a place is exceptional in some way, special even among very good peers; 4 stars means that the place is very good in every relevant category but not outstanding or exceptional; 3 stars means adequate – a place I would go to again but not great; 2 stars means unacceptable – a place I would not go again because it is seriously deficient in some way; 1 star is horrible, that the place was not only unacceptable in some way but that it was exceptionally, unforgivably bad. In every case my rating is comparing the place reviewed to similar places– thus an outstanding diner gets a 5 even though on an absolute scale its food might not be as good as that at a gourmet restaurant.

We always order by phone for delivery. Last night it was great as usual. Delivery was unless than a half hour. We love their chow mein and fried rice. I recommend China Palace to everyone.

Yikes, beware b/f you dig your teeth into those noodles or fried wontons be aware that your food will be heavily laden with MSG and petroleum grade grease; I get it, things need seasoning, but prepare for a possible gut wrenching tummy ache afterwards. I wanted to love this place as it is so adorably run by ultra sweet owners who will move heaven and earth just to please you any way they possibly can. They do make you feel welcomed and you will be treated with utmost care. Trouble is, that’s where it ends and all the good stuff comes to a rock solid halt. Personally, I come to restaurants for the food and to get out of cooking(service is not that relevant to me personally). I was anticipating my meal to be tasty, well prepared, lightly wok tossed with fresh healthy ingredients, and with minimal oil. Sadly, none of my delicious desires came true. In fact, this was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a very long time, even with my own botched attempts with cooking at times, so that’s a downright really nasty meal indeed! My husband took literally three bites and refused to eat another bite; believe me, he has endured my burnt to the crisp and mediocre food for a zillion years now and can withstand nearly anything I place in front of him. Not this; it’s not edible & literally cooked in the most unhealthy manner possible, i.e., veggies are all wilted, mushed, and many were visibly old & browned, chicken tasted more fishy than I could tolerate, and fried dishes were wafting with this putrid unbearable burnt smell upon arriving and tasted just as bad. Do yourself(and health) a favor and find another place to eat tonight; you’ll be happy you did.

Our server was extremely sweet and so kind! Her service was even better! I read that the pot stickers were really good from reviews so my husband and I ordered them. So yummy!!! Never had pot stickers that good! The Kung Pao Chicken was absolutely amazing. We ordered it extra spicy! We also ordered the chicken chow mein and it was okay. I added some of their hot oil and garlic sauce they have and it made it really good. This is our favorite Chinese Restaurant out here and we live in Morro Bay, and they are open on Mondays! Not as expensive as the others.

The food wasn’t that good. Very salty and the fried rice tasted like soy sauce. It also have big pieces of egg in the rice:(don’t recommend… The beef with Broccoli was good.

I LOVE coming to this place every time I visit SLO! Not only is the food good, the owners are super friendly, too! Classical music is always playing which makes for a nice, relaxing ambiance. They seem to get a lot of regular locals come in to order to-go. The food is served family style, and every entrée I’ve had has been hearty and delicious. Let me just say that when I tried the Hot & Sour soup for my first time here, I absolutely loved it and it’s pretty much my favorite soup ever now. This time I got the Egg Foo Young with chicken and Moo Shu Pork, which is one of my favorite dishes. I don’t know why but the meat and veggie mixture with the plum sauce inside just satisfies all my flavor cravings. They also serve complimentary hot tea(Oolong, but sometimes they have Jasmine; just ask) that’s perfect to help wash it all down. I always leave very full and happy. Looking forward to eating here again when I’m in the area!

We have been here several times. The food is very good, especially for the price. Very little ambiance and typical Chinese food character, but the owners are very hospitable. Overall, much better than average.

Average, but in a good way. Hadn’t been there in ten years, but we were in LO and remembered it as being good. Hmmm… either my memory or the restaurant has gone downhill. I did remember how nice the owners were, and that’s still the same.
