Came hear after hearing so much about the cupcakes and wine. Let me tell you, it lived up to what I’ve heard! The staff is great and the wine is fantastic… of course the cupcakes are amazing! Why are you still reading this, you need to go and see for yourself!!!

We went on a rainy day so it was not busy but I can only imagine how popular this place can be. The wines are amazing and to pair them with gourmet cupcakes was a genius idea. The cupcakes are a separate charge from wine tasting but you will not be disappointed. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly when discussing each wine. The place is cute and perfect for a short date. We wound definitely come again

Grilled cheese sandwich = YUM. One star off because the place was too small and it gets quite packed.

The wine sucks, but the tasting room is really nice and they have great outdoor seating with a fire pit. There is a cupcake vendor inside who sells EPIC mini cupcakes. Like, so good. Almost worth it just for the cupcakes. If you are a UCSB sorority girl(or wish you were) this is the place for you.

Saarloos and Sons was a really nice experience and it was located in a great area. If it’s your first time, it might be confusing as to where you’re supposed to go to start your wine tasting, but after just approaching someone and asking them, my friend and I were directed to the cupcake counter. We decided to do the cupcake and wine tasting — the cupcakes were delicious! I would give 5-stars just for the cupcakes! Also, if you buy a wine, your wine tasting fee is waved. The ambience is very relaxed and the seating out front is very casual for a day trip. Make sure to take a picture with their kiosk by the front door if you visit!

This place is awesome! I’m pretty sure the lady hated us — we were pretty smashed when we stumbled upon this sweet spot. The wines were the best we had in the area and the environment inside is really cool. They were quite packed compared to the other tasting rooms so it seems that it might be a little more popular compared to the other spots. The tasting is $ 15 for 5 different wines. They have a really cool camera set up inside too. Make sure you take pics and email them to yourself!

I chose this tasting room for a friend’s bachelorette party about 3 years ago, in 2012. Loved that they had awesome cupcake pairings and the cute décor. I thought that was ok even if their wines are average. BUT I did like their only pinot noir, which I took home. I believe the pinot grapes are not grown in SB and bought 3rd party from a vineyard up north. It was really good! But at the price, it better be. It was about $ 50 or so. I also took a cabernet, which was about $ 25-$ 30. I have yet to open! The bottle label is really cool on this one and I like looking at it. haha I called/emailed before hand to see if I would need to reserve a room for us, but they told us they didn’t expect it to be busy. When we got there, it was busy, so lead us into a private tasting room(free of charge)…which was just a storage room. haha But it was nice that they did that as the place was getting crowded quickly. Anyways, pre order your cupcakes if you want to make sure you get some! If you’re with the girls, this is a nice stop.

This is a very hip place down to the decorations. I like how the cupcake place is built right in. is a really cute outdoor seating area that you can enjoy your bottle of wine with the hip picture on it. I love how the photo booth is free inside and you can even email the picture to yourself.

I came across Saarloos and Sons while browsing the Santa Barbara Wine Country 2015 guide. It started off, «The best winery you have never heard of» before going on to say, to paraphrase, wine should be experienced, not explained, and ended with«NOSNOBS.» Ooookay. It sounded like a place which could go one of two ways: really unusual, or terrible. When we spotted it on the edge of Los Olivos as we drove in, we decided we might as well give it a go and check it out. We wandered in and were greeted by an interior of grey everywhere, along with a merry fire crackling in the fireplace and a photo booth by the front door. It reminded me of All Saints in Shoreditch, London, and that’s the best way I can describe it. We looked at the list of wines they had with their intriguing names — «Bride», «Groom», «Big Brother»… — ask seemingly after members of family. It didn’t tell us too much but we thought we might as well try a tasting. We mentioned that we were driving and needed to share, and the lady behind the counter told us that if we weren’t able to try six, she would let us try a few without having to bother with the full flight. Really nice and unexpected. At the end, we had tried two and bought one. It was a little pricey but given the limited number of bottles they produce, I guess it’s to be expected. Saarloos and Sons only sell through their winery(a really close drive) and this shop as a consequence. As we paid, we got to chatting with the lady and she recommended a number of places in Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara we should go. Again, maybe it’s just that people are really friendly here, but, coming from London, I don’t really expect it, and I’m really glad we wandered in here. Lastly, a few ladies came in solely to buy cupcake flights as we exited. I don’t like cupcakes, but, clearly, this place is famous for them too.

Our wine tour happened to stop here and it was one of my favorite stops! They have a cute photo booth that is fun because who doesn’t like to take pictures. They have a small section with pastries and of course wine, wine, and more wine! They are really nice here and have good different types of wines. You can choose the flights you want and go from there. If you like the wine then you can buy some bottles. I definitely want to come back because I really liked it here. Close to other places and you can walk around to other wine stores and restaurants.

**FUNWINETASTINGSIN A HIP, COOLATMOSPHERE** Of all the wineries and tastings we did in Los Olivos, this spot was the most fun. ABOUT ====== Saarloos & Sons’ wines are produced in small batches, less than 400 cases of each. Each wine created honors a family member and are named accordingly. PARKING ======== Plenty around town. AMBIANCE ========= Hip, cool, and rustic. Yes, there’s a photo booth near the entrance. Yes, there’s a fire pit outside. Yes, there are bachelorette parties all-around. Yes, and most importantly, there are cupcakes next-door to pair with your wine tastings. RATING: 4.5÷5 WINES ====== From DADDY’S GIRL(sauvignon blanc) to LITTLEBROTHER(grenache noir), the wines we tasted were fairly young and not too bold. Their CASH’S CRUSH(rose) was popular and currently sold out. RATING: 3.5÷5 OVERALL ======== Great spot to meet friends and make new ones. Fun and jovial feels everywhere, especially on weekends. HIGHLYRECOMMEND if you’re wine tasting in Los Olivos.

Great winery in Los Olivos! We stopped in for the wine tasting and added a cupcake flight to go with it. Six pack of cupcakes is $ 10, wine tasting is $ 10, but if you buy two bottles they waive one of the tasting fees. We ended up buying two bottles of Daddy’s Girl(Sauvignon Blanc $ 24/bottle), but they had some great Syrah as well.

I was dragged here kicking and screaming since I think cupcakes + wine pairing is a pretty gimmicky marketing tool. However, upon arrival, I was proven wrong in every single way. First of all, the service here is very friendly and cheerful. They took great care to describe each cupcake and wine pairing. Way to go on customer attentiveness. I also really loved the décor here. The wife of the owner is an interior decorator and she did a great job with every detail. Everything from the wine labels to the gift items were unique and memorable. Finally, the wines are really amazing. Out of my weekend visit to 5 wineries, S&S is the only place I bought wines and joined the wine club. I think dropping $ 500+ on an annual wine club membership speaks something of my enjoyment of the product.

Wine + cupcakes + photo booth = awesome :) I’ve been here three times so far since June and I love it so much. If I wasn’t a broke college student I would definitely be a member. My cousin is a member so I enjoy her tasting benefits! I did the cupcake flight my first time and it makes the wines taste even more delicious even though you don’t even need the cupcakes at all. Yummy, creamy cupcakes make anyone feel like they’re on a mini vacation. Daddy’s girl is definitely my favorite. I would buy dozens of bottles. The girls working are extremely friendly and so welcoming. Don’t believe what others say, customer service is a difficult job especially with customers that don’t know how to act. Sheesh.

This winery had a younger feel to it with the brass knuckles and skateboard decks but it was also mixed with modern winery so it wasn’t totally like being in a skateshop. I guess you could say it’s a winery with the characteristics of the son’s with homage to the whole family . There’s lounge chairs and seating in front of the building. You walk in and to the right you can buy mini cupcakes and/or a mini cupcake tasting from Enjoy Cupcakes that pairs with the wine tasting. We bought the cupcake tasters and took it over to the wine tasting counter and did the whole wine/cupcake tasting and I loved it. I only had one favorite pairing of the five(Extended Family Pinot Noir) but the whole experience was great. The pourers were great. I’ve heard great things about joining the club and the wine received, how it was shipped in nice wooden crates. Enjoyable stop.

One of the coolest wineries I’ve been to. The ambience is very unique and the decoration is a fine balance between winery and history of this place. It has a lot of memorabilia from World War II and history of their own family. You can see the Purple Heart give to this war hero on the wall, the history of the family and their dedication to their business. They really portray the importance of family as the root to success. The declaration is otherwise funky contemporary and really cool. The place is divided up into separate rooms where people can lounge and enjoy their wine. The unique thing about this place is of course that they pair their wine with cupcakes, something I’ve never tried before. The better case of the wine and the sweet taste of the cupcakes go together very well actually. For the standard winetasting you can order a set of 6 cup cakes and go to the wine bar and they will pair it up for you. Cup cakes were great, 5*****, wine 4****. I’m by no means a vine specialist but the other wineries in the area had comparable, some better, wine. This is still probably the coolest winery in he area and definitely deserves a visit. The staff were knowledgeable and fun, engaging… Cool place to visit!

Schoolteacher was showing me around the tiny winery town of Los Olivos. She had been here on a wine tour, and was sharing the experience with me. We parked nearby here in the morning as the street was just opening up around eleven. Then, after walking down the length of the small town, we came back and stopped in here. Mainly because their sign out front said wine and cupcakes… and that I looked nice. Thank you sign, you look nice also. Except for one, all of the businesses in Los Olivos seem like they’ve taken over old houses. As we walked across the front yard, I noticed a group of drunk bridesmaids with their bride sat in the comfy couches set up out front. As we entered the home, it was quite comfortable. Lots of wood, also the wine, and also the cupcakes were welcoming. We first walked over to the cupcake section, and inquired there. There’s actually two businesses in here. A small stand for the cupcake store, and then the main place, the winery. We stopped first at the cupcake stand. There, you could buy full sized cupcakes for a few dollars each, or go with a flight of six mini cupcakes for $ 10. This flight of mini cupcakes is specifically paired up to go with the wine tastings that day. We picked up the cupcake flight and then went over to the wine tasting area to share a wine tasting, which was an additional $ 10. While we tasted the cupcakes and wines they were paired with, the nice girl behind the counter was really quite informative. She told us about the stories behind each wine. She told us about the people on the labels, and the story of the winery. The story goes like this. Some time ago, they were two separated places. Enjoy, a cupcake place, and Saarloos & Sons, a winery place next door. Some clever customers started pairing cupcakes with wines they tasted. Seeing this, both the cupcake place and winery place thought this was a grand idea, so they started doing it officially. They paired up and now they do it themselves in the one place. After the tasting we wandered around the place full and contented. In addition to the cupcakes, the wines, their Saarloos and Sons logo’d clothing, and the assorted usual winery knick-knacks you find at most wineries, they’ve also got a small photo booth thingy. It takes your photo, emails it to you, and also puts you on their mailing list. To be honest, after visiting the other wineries along the street, this place struck me as the disneyland of wineries here at Los Olivos. It’s a quite novel concept, I am quite glad we stopped here. Good job on that front sign to lure us in.

Probably the most fun I’ve had wine tasting in a while. This was just a tasting room and not a winery where you sit outside and enjoy your tastings al fresco. However, Saarloos & Sons does their wine tasting masterfully. By this I mean… WTFCUPCAKEPAIRINGS?! Count me in! (Shout out to Enjoy Cupcakes) The appeal of S&S started from the outdoors, when we walked by their cute antique truck out back to the indoors where the décor was reminiscent of a warm, intimate leather-infused man cave. They did a great job with their branding and their décor. The story to their product was also a great touch. We hit up the cupcake counter first and got ourselves the small cupcake flight($ 10, a little steep but wait until you taste them). Then we headed over to the wine tasting counter where we proceeded to taste five wines paired with the cupcakes. During our tastings, the ladies behind the counter were somewhat reserved but when we got to talking, they were very sweet and helpful. It also helped that the crowd thinned out a bit when we showed up. Frankly, I don’t know if the tasty treats paired ok with the wines… my palate isn’t very discerning. All I know is the cupcakes were fantastic and the wines were great too. Sister-in-law and I both really enjoyed the Extended Family but alas, it was $ 50 and we had much more wine tasting to go. So I locked away the memory of a great time away in my brain and away we went to the next few(not as great) wine tastings.

We’ve been visiting Sarloos for the past 4 years and we absolutely love it! The wines are amazing and you can pair the wines during your tasting with tasty mini cupcakes. Usually a flight of 6 cupcakes is enough to share with someone else. We recently joined the wine club which is nice bc now our tastings are complimentary, we are invited to fun events they host in the beautiful backyard area, and we get 10% off all wine purchased at the storefront. The location is very convenient. It’s right in Los Olivos at the beginning of the street, you can’t miss it! There are many other tasting rooms along the street. My favorite restaurant near by is los olivos café. Everything that has to do with this wine has been beautifully designed. The bottles, bottle labels, the tasting room, and the packing for the wine club is all beautiful! Bottoms up!
