I hate to be a naysayer. She is an extremely nice person. When I went to see her for IBS-​D she suspected food allergies. She ran a blood panel and it came back with me allergic to many things including eggs and milk. For three years I carefully obeyed not eating any of these things (even in cooked items) and thought I was feeling relief. I realize now I was the victim of my own placebo effect. Live and learn. But it is somewhat intrusive to your life because I spent 3 years avoiding foods that are actually fine for me. I thought I could never go to Europe again.
I went to a board certified allergist because my skin was really bothering me with rashes. I brought the blood panel results with me. The doctor said that the only reliable allergy test is through a skin prick test. He completed an extensive panel on me and I did not show up allergic to anything but feathers. He said the lab she uses is notorious in the medical community for having false positives. He told me I could eat all of those things with no problems. He was right. Eggs and milk and all of the other things are no problem.
If you give a child a lot of fruit juice they will become… un-​constipated. I thought about this and narrowed down my issue to wine drinking. As soon as I quit I had ¹⁄₁₀ of the problems I had before.
I did feel strange about a doctor that does not take insurance because the medical community disagrees with the treatment. It was quite an education for me. Looking at her credentials I see that she believes in bio-​identicals (ala Suzanne Somers) which is a red flag. Take my experience with a grain of pure pink Himalayan sea salt but I think it preys upon people looking for answers to their problems.

Dr. Young is a no nonsense wellness practitioner who’s main goal is to foster into her patients a more natural way to deal with their health issues and concur being dependent on Dr. prescribed medications. I had some serious, hereditary, health concerns; high blood pressure and prediabetes, but to Dr. Young it was a condition that was both reversible and well within my own control to maintain. Under her guidance I was able to reverse the prediabetic numbers, get off of blood pressure meds and, more importantly, got a ‘owners manual’ on how to address my health. 100% recommend her to anyone who wants to master their body’s chemistry in a healthy and natural way and one that’s free of medications. Let me start by saying Dr. Young is well intentioned but she should acknowledge when a particular area is out of her area of expertise AND she should slow down and offer more attentive, customized service to her patients. My primary reason for going to see her was to address persistent issues with anemia. Over the course of several months of seeing her and following her treatments, my «mild» anemia went lower than every in my entire life. She diagnosed some other issues I was dealing with but those treatments and supplements (which now I question if I really needed) had a very negative impact on my anemia. She put me on a dosage of Milk Thistle which it turns out actually DEPLETES your body of iron (as I have been informed by my current doctor). In fact it is often given to patients who have EXCESS iron in their bodies, it should never be recommended to someone who is anemic. My iron levels were dangerously low, instead of looking at the cause they recommended Iron IVs which were very, very expensive. I spent well over $ 1000 on IVs to bring back my iron levels to what they were BEFORE I started seeing her. I’m now building back my iron levels with a new doctor. My visits felt rushed and she never reviewed my results beforehand. She did not help my situation but made it worse after I spent way too much money on supplements, tests and visits. If you want personalized attention I highly recommend you seek another doctor. I’m sure she has helped some other patients but this was not my experience.

Fabulous practice!!! Never felt better physically when I was seeing her on a regular basis. The unfortunate part, as many others have stated, is that most insurance companies do not cover much of what she recommends. If you have the money for EXCELLENT health care with a doctor that truly listens… then this is the place and the doctor for you.

I went to Dr. Young because I was having difficult time with my weight. I needed to get it off and nothing was working. I had done hcg drops in the past and i lost 10 pounds in two weeks but I had gained it back and I was extremely hungry the entire time I did it. I decided to try the injections, but was skeptical because I have a 14 month old daughter. I needed to have the energy and time for her and I was unsure if it was going to work. I decided to go ahead with three weeks and let me tell you the drops are a joke compared to the injections. No one should ever do the drops. I was not hungry the entire time and had the energy to do what ever I needed to with my daughter and keep up the house and work. I signed on for another three weeks and did six weeks in total. Dr Young was fantastic resource through the entire treatment and I lost 33 pounds 8 inches off my mid drift. Completed turn around. I would if you want to do HCG do the injections do not be stupid also go to Dr. Young, she knows what she is doing and knows how to help you.

Cured after 41 years of chronic stomachaches! I’ve always had the insurance and the connections to get to Los Angeles’ première «specialists.» Rockstars in their profession who told me that my stomach issues were all in my head. They were quick to write out a prescription for the heartburn and other symptoms, but they NEVER were interested in getting to the root of my problem or talked about diet. After a few opinions which didn’t help me at all, I gave up and decided that I’d just have to live my life bloated and in pain.
The day I struck up a conversation with a stranger at Supercuts will always be a pivotal moment in my life. This lady sitting next to me looked like the picture of health. Skin glowing, happy, healthy looking. We got to talking about doctors, and she mentioned that she went to Dr. Young. I bookmarked her on my phone immediately, and 2 months ago, I made the call for an appointment. I was initially skeptical, but Dr. Young’s charm got me through the first awkward minutes. The initial consultation is 45 minutes of the doctor focusing on you, the patient. She hears what you’re saying, your ailments, your concerns, and then she orders the tests that she feels are appropriate to find answers. She’s the Sherlock Holmes of Naturopathy.
When the results came back from my blood panels, everything made sense for once! My body was rejecting so many foods that I ate on a daily basis. I immediately stopped eating those foods, and the stomachaches vanished! We even found the answer to my anxiety disorder that began a year ago. Several doctors had told me that that was all in my head too, and that I needed a psychiatrist! All my anxiety medication is gone today. The blood panels revealed a deficiency in CHROMIUM which was the cause. So, Dr. Young had me start taking Chromium capsules 3 times a day to get the level back to normal.
I can’t believe I found all this out before my body would have eventually broken down and succumbed to autoimmune disease, because that’s exactly where I was headed.
Is Dr. Young «In-​network?» NO. But there’s no In-​network doctor that’s ever going to get to the heart of your medical problems. Not as long as they have a prescription pad to scribble on. Can you put a price on finding vital information about your health that will get you well for the first time in your life?
Vanity got me to Dr. Young’s office, because I wanted that healthy glow that all of her patients have, but my eyes have been opened to so much more, I’m converting my entire family to naturopathy, and I’ll never accept a pharma prescription flippantly ever again. Thank you, Dr. Young for making the difference in my life.

10 stars for Renee and her practice. Dr. Young is not the biased naturopath that most people are used to. My husband and I come from two different medical practice beliefs and we both love and trust her. She’s an MD (which is awesome) and is able to balance and integrate the right medicine for you.
I came here after being worn out by the Kaiser system and absolutely certain they were ignoring symptoms and missing something big going on. Renee was able to confirm this, and that I was not crazy or a hypochondriac — their really was some hormonal imbalances that I needed to get under control.
I can’t recommend her enough — she is very caring, knowledgeable and does not rush you. Yes, it is more expensive since it’s not covered by insurance, but I’d pay it 10x over, and just wish I’d come here before I wasted so much time, energy, money and health with Kaiser.

Dr. Young is fantastic! She is so caring and knowlegable. Wonderful bedside mannor with my two litte boys. She is very conciensious about saving us money where possbile.
I truely only deduct a star because it is so darn expensive. As with many naturopathic doctors this center (to my knowlege at the time) doesn’t accept insurance so I wish I could use them more often then I do but it just costs so much to go there even with Dr. Young’s cost saving tips.
But as far as quality doctors go, Dr. Young is top notch.

Dr. Renee is awesome ! She takes her time with you and really listens .She is the only Naturopathic Dr. I will refer my friends and clients too. I trust her to find out what is the matter with them, after so many regular doctors could not. She is a very well balanced person who is a joy to be around. Everyone I have sent to her, love her too!
My search for a great doctor has ended.

If I could give Dr. Young more than 5 stars, I would. I went into her office several years ago not being able to pinpoint what my problem was and feeling foolish for only being able to say «I just don’t feel right.» It was little things like I felt like I was more tired than most of my friends, I felt ‘off’ most of the time, and a bit down. I had been to several doctors within internal medicine and walked out with a clean bill of health every time – which just made me feel that much sillier for feeling like something was wrong. Dr. Young took the time to listen, asked questions and pretty much held my hand until she found and addressed problems and I finally felt GOOD. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Young has been my personal physician for several years now & I love that she’s always right on with what I need to do for greater health! She listens and that’s important in order to really understand what a patient needs. She’s walked me through some tough things and I always come out better. My sister visits me from the east coast yearly & sees Dr. Young as well. She has commented many times that it’s the best advice she ever gets. What she prescribes is always right on. You rock Dr. Young. Thanks so much!

Dr. Renee’s a rock star. She has helped me lose 100 pounds in six months. Most important she has kept tabs to be sure that my body could handle that much weight loss and that I was losing fat not muscle. We are now preparing for my next 100 pounds!

Wow, what a unique mix of western medicine smarts and holistic common sense. Dr. Young’s key to healing success with me was her ability to listen and apply her knowledge to my concerns. She is able to help with some very basic medical advice that usually does not revolve around perscriptions and medicine.

This is an update of my previous Unilocal about Dr. Renee Young. I continue to go to Dr. Young for treatment of various issues including things as simple as the common cold to back pain, insomnia, low energy, etc. I rarely get a cold anymore since I’ve been taking the supplements that she has prescribed. My horrible seasonal allergies have also been cured since I have been under her care. Yes, that’s right CURED. When she develops her treatment plan for you she looks for the root cause of the issue rather than just doling out drugs that merely treat your symptoms. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about treatments she is an extremely caring, compassionate person. I highly recommend Dr. Young and the Naturopathic approach to wellness.

Dr. Young is an amazing doctor. When I first started seeing her I was amazed that the first appointment was an hour and a half, and the second appointment was a half hour. She takes the time to get to know you and how you live your life. She has helped me find the food that I should not eat, and helped diagnose my sleeping problems (THANK YOU!!). Dr. Young is a very knowledgeable doctor, who cares about her patients and the best way to treat them… what I respect most about Dr. Young is that she looks you in the eye the entire time she speaks to you. You can tell she actually cares.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Young. She has changed my life! I told her what my ailments were, she told me exactly what tests to take, and we pinpointed my problem immediately. I am taking ONE herbal supplement and all my symptoms are gone. I feel great and I owe it all to her. I do recommend her to all my friends.

Dr. Jen Jewell Larson has been my doctor since December 2009. I can’t say enough about the personal attention she provides. What I really love the most is how she listens to what I say and then talks with me about my choices. I really feel that she truly cares about my health. She’s diagnosed a couple of issues that we’re working on and I couldn’t be happier. I sought an alternative to traditional medicine because I didn’t want an MD to just prescribe medications — I wanted to use natural supplements and that’s exactly what Dr. Larson has done. My cholesterol has greatly improved with her assistance. I would highly recommend her to anyone who seeks a real partner in health.

Dr. Young is my girlfriend’s doctor, and she’s really great. At our first visit, she made us both feel comfortable and welcome. We had some specific questions that she was very happy to answer, and she was also kind enough to recommend some things for both of us, not just my girlfriend. She’s very caring and passionate about what she does … most doctors could learn a lot from her kind and pleasant bedside manner.
