I will never shop here again, and that is unfortunate as I have shopped here for years, and I used to shop at their Santa Cruz location. I went here today because there was a lovely summer dress in the window. When I arrived, there was a hand written note saying that they’d be back in 5 minutes, which would be no big deal except I have noticed that this happens a lot with Rouge lately – just in the last month I have tried to shop here at least 5 separate times during their regular business hours only to be met by a sign informing me that they’ll be back in 5 minutes. I have waited for 15 minutes outside their door, but no one ever came. Another time I walked to another shop and came back, and the sign was still posted and no one was inside Rouge. This time was particularly bad: as I read the note I turned to see a middle aged couple on the bench in front of the shop sharing a cup of coffee and watching me. I mentioned to them that I had planned to shop here, but this was the 5th time this month that I had tried to shop here only to be met by such a «be back in 5 minutes» sort of sign. At that, both the middle-aged woman and her gentleman friend got up and approached me, which made me a bit uncomfortable because of their expressions and demeanor(the woman looked especially agitated). Next they both proceeded to speak, but I could only hear the woman, who took a rather hostile and rude tone as she raised her voice to make excuses for why the shop was closed. Then the man asked if I would like to go inside, to which I responded, «yes.» Then the woman opened the door, then she immediately turned around in a huff to go back to sit on the bench outside – she never once came inside the shop while I was there. I walked inside and paused as I looked around for a brief moment, and then I promptly walked out without buying a thing because I thought to myself, «there are too many nice shops with pleasant people working in them in Los Gatos for me to waste my time and money in a place where the people are rude.» Shame on you Rouge for treating someone so poorly.

Dropped by Rouge the other day after having seen a dress I had to have a few months back, on the off chance it would still be there. They surprisingly had one dress left on the sale rack, in a size small. I instantly dismissed it, since I am really tall and didn’t think the dress would fit. The woman working encouraged me to try it on as that dress ran really long. Tried it on and it totally fit and I fell in love. The woman was really sweet and gave some tips on how to wear the dress. Will definitely pop back in here from time to time to see what new stuff they have in!

Alani is the best saleswoman! All the clothes are really cute. Any bad review of Rouge was from a few years ago, so check your dates! Next door they sell beautiful mexican jewelry, leather goods, and pottery, in a separate space, but with an opened wall between the two stores. A wonderful shopping experience!

I’m very pleased. I’ve popped in here several times and there’s always something very cute and fun. Most of their clothes are made in the US which is mandatory for me(European made clothes are fine for me) The clothes are carefully selected, well priced. The sales girl yesterday was wonderful and friendly and fun. We chatted about many things and she agreed that US made is the best!

I LOVEROUGE! My go to store when I want something fabulous for a night out, or for something cute for work, or for lounging in! Lots of different styles and price points. And accessories as well! The girls that work here are friendly and helpful without being pushy. And bonus points for being connected to a super cute shoe store!

I think the customer service is great. If I have a specific idea in mind, the sales girls always know the inventory and pull great suggestions. But if i’m just browsing i can do that too, without having to look at a million random things that someone else loves. Not to knock someone’s style, but it is nice not to be smothered by sales girls lurking for a commission. I love the labels they carry, and the quality is excellent.

Hi, I worked at Rouge for about 2 years and I am really disappointed with all the negative feedback. The clothes are actually not overpriced at all, markups are your standard retail rate… And honestly would you rather buy a ton of cheap clothes from forever 21 that fall apart after a few wears… OR invest in some quality pieces that will last you a lifetime and speak volumes about your personal style ??? Rouge sales girls are not the type to hover while you shop, we like to let our costumer browse without feeling like prey… BUT if you would like one of the rouge girls to style you believe me they LOVE to do it. And lastly how many other chic boutiques allow you to put items on LAYAWAY.

I like Rouge very much and I have not experienced and issue with customer service. Then again, I like to be left alone when I shop. I think their selection is better than anything else I saw in other stores in the area. Prices vary depending on the brand.

I agree with the other Unilocalers about the terrible customer service here. It’s such a shame too, because I love the clothes here. Unfortunately, there really aren’t any other cute boutiques like this in the South Bay. That is the *only* reason for the second star. When they used to be in Campbell, I was a regular in there and the service was so much better. But now, you are lucky if you even get a «hello» out of the people working here. Even the owner has completely ignored and snubbed me when she was there one time. TERRIBLE customer service. One thing I will say in response to some other reviewers saying that they are over-priced: they really aren’t actually. They mark the items at the going rate for those designers. Maybe a couple of dollars above, but generally it is fairly priced. The thing that Rouge needs to realize, is that in our current economy, consumers are pickier about where they spend their hard-earned money. No one is going to give their money to a store that treats them like crap. While we may have put up with it in the past, when money was flowing freely, we absolutely will not now. So many little boutiques are closing these days because they don’t have enough business to keep their head above water. It’s just stupid(not to mention unattractively arogant) business practice to treat your customers poorly. Unless you don’t want to make money. In which case, I’d say you guys are on your way. Get a clue, Rouge.

RUNFARFARAWAY! This place has pretty cute clothes and I’ve given this place about 3 chances. However, every time I go in, I walk out pissed off, insulted and empty-handed. I will never ever ever ever ever return. And I recommend you don’t ever go here. The women in this store running it are complete b*tches! The first time I went, I was in there with a friend, well-dressed, friendly and looking to buy something. I was not greeted, in fact I was sized-up and then ignored. I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock, thinking that maybe I was seeing things. I ignored it and proceeded to the racks. After some searching, I found a cute top and sweater to try on, but I was still looking. Not once did the women ever ask me if I wanted to try anything on, in fact they never spoke to me at all, they just sat over at the register gossiping and on the phone. So unprofessional. I didn’t know where the changing rooms were so I kinda mingled by them and said loudly to my friend, «Isn’t this cute, I like it, I wanna try it on, I think I wanna get it.» They never once looked up. I couldn’t believe it. So after a few more minutes, I put the clothes back on the rack and said something to my friend about how rude they are and we walked out. I hope they heard, but I know they didn’t care. Obviously. I gave it about a year, but the next time I went in, was pretty much the same thing. And again just the other week. My mom has told me separately that she has had the same experience, and she swears she’ll never set foot in that door again. On top of it all, this place is way overpriced for most things. In this failing economy, it’s really sad to see so many cute and unique stores closing as I walk down SC Ave in my home town of LG. But in the case of Rouge, I’m really cheering for the failing economy to eat this b*tch nest alive!

Bad customer service. No greeting, overall arrogant look. No way will I be spending my money for someone like that.

I liked their product, but we left due to never being greeted… and we shopped the whole store.
