My son has been going to Sergio for a couple of months. Recently, because my trainer has been on vacation, I joined in with them. The fact is Sergio is just lovely. He has such a positive attitude. He is always smiling, kind and very thoughtful. I can’t image any other gym in which the trainer would have put up with country music for an hour a day but he always turns it on when I arrive! It’s those little touches that make going to work out a pleasure. What my son(15 years old) really likes is that he really moves from one set of exercises to another quickly and without hesitation. At the end of the work out, you’ve had very little down time and it feels like you have really optimized your hour! That is a great feeling! Does it work? Of course it does. But you can say that about virtually any gym… if you put in the time, it works! Sergio just makes the work feel good. Yep, I’m a fan! Of course, now I worry that he won’t have time for me and my son because he’ll get so busy with all his new business!!! Oh no!!!

End of week 3, and I feel GREAT! MaxOut is run by Sergio who is an amazing trainer. We go to his bootcamp, which is M-F 7:30 — 8:30 pm(there are also a couple morning classes) and it is SO addicting. My BF and I originally got hooked on the bootcamp concept when we bought a Groupon for a bootcamp called Fit Body Bootcamp in Campbell. But after a week they actually went out of business. Luckily for us, Sergio had JUST started his bootcamp and we happened to know Sergio through a friend so we started going to MaxOut instead. It’s held at Shawsu Workout Studio in Los Altos( ), which is a great little fitness studio. If you’ve been going to 24 hour fitness for 10 years like me, the intimacy and quality of a small fitness studio will reallllllly be a welcome change. Here’s what a normal workout is like: stretching, strength training(I can do some pretty awesome deadlifts now… woohoo!) and then conditioning. The conditioning is kick ass — usually a combination some cardio intervals worked in with weights. Here’s the reason I’d suggest it to anyone. I’ve always been an active person, but honestly… the gym bored me to DEATH. I felt SO unproductive there… my BF and I would be there for an hour and a half and I didn’t feel like I was actually hitting all my body parts. I would do the SAME cardio every time, and some random weight lifting. With bootcamp, Sergio has a good workout planned out and in ONE hour, I feel like my ENTIRE body gets worked a little. Not to mention he asks for your goals and tries to work them into his bootcamp schedules. He really knows what he is talking about. It’s like having a personal trainer that you get to see every single day, but in a fun group atmosphere. And now, instead of dreading the gym everyday, bootcamp is my favorite part of the day. What a 180 change. It’s also cheaper than a lot of other bootcamps in the area that I’ve looked into, AND I like to work out at night not the morning, and almost all other bootcamps are only in the morning. I’ve finally found something I KNOW I will continue to do for a long time… and it’s exciting. Not to mention I FEEL stronger everyday and MUCH better about myself. Sergio, YOUKICKASSSS!
