I had a great experience with Dr. Karin and her staff. After having been diagnosed with breast cancer, I was referred to Dr. Karin for surgery. She was attentive and upbeat while still giving me the information I needed. She also made an excellent referral for me to see Dr. Patel for radiation. She and her office worked hard to get me scheduled in for surgery quickly. And recovery has been excellent.

I was referred to Dr. Mardi Karin for surgery to remove a lump in my breast. I’ve never felt so degraded until that office visit. Worst bedside manner for a surgeon ever — she was on her phone while doing my breast examination. No joke — one hand on my boob and the other checking her messages. Are you kidding me?! I get that we’re all «super important, busy people» but could you refrain from checking your phone for two minutes while your hand is on my tit? thanks.
She then proceeded to be completely rude and flip given the sensitive situation I was in. I left and went elsewhere. I would never in a million years trust her to cut me open — she might be too busy on the phone to get it right.

I am a Registered Nurse who works with Dr Karin at the Silicon Valley Surgery Center & have always noticed how caring & compassionate she is with her patients. When my Dr said I needed to see a general surgeon for my abdominal pain I knew exactly who I wanted to go see. Dr Karin made me feel comfortable right from the start. I know how busy she is & she never made me feel like she was in a rush. She genuinely cares & explored every avenue to get a speedy & correct diagnosis. I really appreciated how she kept me up to date on all my test results & plan of care. For now I do not need surgery but if I ever do in the future I would definitely go back to Dr Karin. Like I said before I work with Dr Karin & know that she is a very competent & skilled surgeon. Combine that with her excellent bedside manner & you can’t go wrong! Her office staff is also very friendly & helpful.

I highly recommend Dr. Karin! I’m a Registered Nurse so when I needed to have my Gallbladder removed I got referrals from doctors I trusted and they sent me to Dr. Karin. She is professional and caring and her office staff were all very helpful and polite. She even went out of her way to schedule my surgery so that my parents could come from out-​of-​town to take care of my 1 year old while I recovered.
I had my gallbladder removed by Dr. Karin as an outpatient at the Silicone Valley Surgery Center. She did a great job at prepping me for the surgery so I knew exactly what to expect — and it all went really smoothly. A couple days of discomfort and having a good excuse to lay in bed and catch up on TV and then I was able to move around pretty easily… granted it took about a week to be able to pick up & carry my son easily but that is to be expected.
Overall, she gets an A+ from me. Its rare to find a doctor who really makes you feel like they care and takes as much time as is needed to reassure and answer patient questions — and that’s exactly what Dr. Karin did.
