Westchester Wado-Ryu Karate Academy

We are so happy with Westchester Wado-​Ryu and Sensei Greg. My 6 year old son and his dad have been attending for a few months and they get so much out of it. My son has learned to be in better control of his body and his temper. Taking karate class has really helped improve his behavior at home and at school. Also, it is a great workout. My husband didn’t get much exercise before, but now looks forward to karate practice and gets in physical fitness too.
The instructor, Sensei Greg, has the personality and experience to successfully teach these classes. He knows to use the right blend of discipline and encouragement. He is more strict with tardiness, talking during class, and not paying attention and will dress down a student for goofing off. However, he is patient, kind, and firm with teaching body form, movements, and exercises. Greg is also a definite karate expert. he knows his stuff. When you get to see him spar with another black-​belt, it is very impressive.
It is conveniently located at the Westchester rec center in the main gym. They meet twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as occasional demonstrations and competitions on Saturdays. It is open to all ages, boys and girls. Also, the price is very reasonable. The Rec Center asks for $ 10/​month and you pay a donation to Sensei Greg.

With so many activities my little one wants to be in, nice to have an activity that’s so so affordable, learn respect and get energy out/​keeping fit! My kid really enjoying this class, instructor really nice & funny. It’s held in a basketball/​gym court at Westchester Rec Ctr, easy parking. Hiyaaaaaaaahh…
