As an Italian I grew up with my grandparents or my dad making pizza. So I must admit, I’m slightly picky about my pizza. I’ve seen the VP on a few TV shows and what caught my eye was the homemade dough, meatballs, sausage, etc. I had to try their Neapolitan pizza(thin crust) with pepperoni and meatballs. I expected the meatballs to show up as crumbles, but they were thinly sliced and tasted A-MAZING! I have to say this was by far the best restaurant pizza I have ever had! No joke. You can tell their dough is homemade and very fresh, especially when you get to the crust. I’m still thinking about this pizza a week later! Service was fantastic too.

Absolutely loved the clam and garlic pizza! So much so that I strategically spaced out my leftovers so that I had a slice each for lunch and dinner the next day. The Village Pizza was also delicious and flavorful, if you like anchovies. This is by far the closest thing to New York pizza that you’ll get in LA. I cannot wait to go back!

While I have been a long time customer of Village Pizzeria and genuinely was a fan of the pizza, this review is for the customer service I received for a delivery order. I was looking at the company Website and saw that the shop offers free delivery in the area for orders over $ 20. I had planned to use Postmates to deliver a special treat of NY pizza to my husband and I after a long day of running the LA Marathon, so this was great news and I was excited to order from the shop directly instead. When I placed my order over the phone, the woman I spoke with was very curt and short with me, but I figured she had been working hard and was tired since it was Valentine’s Day and probably pretty busy. She confirmed our pizza and said it would be delivered to my home in 1 hour. 30 minutes later I received a call from the delivery driver who had my pizza but wanted to confirm my address. When I confirmed the information he had was indeed accurate he told me they would not be delivering the pizza because we were located just past the delivery zone. I live less than 4 miles from the shop. I asked why I wasn’t told this when I placed the order, and was simply told that Abby had made a mistake and thought the address was closer to the restaurant. I had given her very specific cross streets and the exact address and zip code of my residence — this is 2016 and it is very easy to verify location via any mapping service. I’m not sure why this seemed to be so complicated. Overall, the employees were incredibly disrespectful with me and didn’t care that they wasted my time or had made mistakes on their end. There was no attempt to rectify the situation, I was simply told that I would need to drive to the shop if I wanted the pizza they had made for my order. With all of the wonderful food options in LA, it’s not worth it to be treated this way when all I had done was try and support the business and make a purchase from them. After the ordeal, we took our business to Fresh Brothers who always treats us wonderfully and offers quality pizza with the freshest ingredients and great delivery service.

Larchmont, you need more garlic in the C&G. I guess I will have to ask for more when ordering. Leo, on the waitstaff, is pretty amazing. I asked him if he was psychic as he would bring me items as I thought of them yet before I actually asked. Like a BOSS. If more people did their job in such a manner the world would be a happier, better place. Thanks, Leo.

When I walked into VP I felt like I walked into a New York pizza joint. You’ll find a few tables inside with some along the narrow walkway area but that gives this place character. Outside seating is great for people watching so I try to get a spot there when possible. I’ve had the spaghetti and huge meatballs which stuffed me and is worth ordering again. Also tried the chicken parm sandwich next time in and I would order this again too. Service is really good too. Staff seems like they actually enjoy working here. Parking is along the street at a meter and if you go at a busy time you may be circling a few times to find a spot.

Today is National Pizza Day. That’s nothing more than an unjust typo. It should be National Village Pizza Day. Business Insider owes LA an apology for their own typo in naming Pizzeria Mozza as LA’s best pizza, instead of Village Pizzeria. I hold nothing against Mario Batali(especially anything edible), but Pizzeria Mozza ain’t a pizza joint, unless you’re Derek Zoolander. I love Village Pizzeria. This love developed over many, many years dating back to my childhood in San Francisco. I remember ordering from both locations on Steiner Street and Clement Street often. Moving this love story along, I went away to school and some years later landed in LA. Co-workers and friends wouldn’t shut up about«Larchmont Pizza,» so I had to investigate this further. There was only one pizza place I knew, having lived in DC, NYC and SF, that got people talking crazy talk for pizza like that. When I was walking on Larchmont and saw Village Pizzeria on LA soil, I lived through what screenwriters would call a major reveal in my own LA story. Village Pizzeria was that girl who happened to end up in the same city after many years spent on separate paths. I walked inside, not believing my own eyes, and saw some 49ers memorabilia hanging on the wall from their 80s glory days. I was home. Enough of the biopic. Now, to the pizza. I could talk about it, but I’ll let the other reviews go in-depth about the crunch of the crust or the briny balance of the cheese or the savory satisfaction of the meats or the agrarian awesomeness of the sauce and vegetables. Steve Cohen, the owner/founder of Village Pizzeria, is to pizza what Steve Jobs was to computing. Yes, I realize people overuse the Jobs comparison, but it fits here because shut up. Both are passionate about making the best of the best stuff without exception and won’t mince words about it. That, I can tell you! I first met Steve Cohen at a charity event on the Paramount lot nearby where his pizza was flowing generously and disappearing like a magic act, and he couldn’t have been more delighted to hear of my circuitous route all the way back to Village Pizzeria. One final point. To deal with your pizza guilt aftermath, there’s a Flywheel naturally located a handful of storefronts north to nuke away those calories… those delicious, delicious calories.

Small little cozy place, with a lot of shops around the area. Ordered a thin crust Pepperoni with a pitcher of Stella and it was the bomb! The pizza was nice and crispy at the bottom, not soggy like some places. I would come back just for this pizza.

The owner«Nancy» … She spelled it for me because it really bothers her when people spell it wrong. Is one of the most unprofessional, outdated, rude and fowl owners I have yet to meet in a family owned business. We had placed an order and I gave my phone number upon pick up they told me that they ran out of sausage and it would be an additional 10 minutes. I asked if there was anything they could do for the inconvenience. Nancy responded cold and bitterly«What do you want?» The conversation diluted along with her mannerisms. Coming from a family who owns small businesses treating customers with generosity and respect is always a number one priority. Regardless of how good the pizza maybe sadly I will never return due to Nancy. Dear Nasty Nancy… It’s 2016 leave being bitter and rude in the past.

This place takes me back to my childhood. I grew up in this neighborhood and used to walk over to the larchmont village and head over to village pizzeria to grab a slice. I haven’t been back in years and I’m glad I decided to go to lunch with a friend here. The place hasn’t changed. They still have an awesome thin crust NY pizza. I don’t need much on my pizza so today I decided to go plain Jane. Got the meal deal #1 that comes with a slice, side salad, their garlic roll, and a soda(this is the same meal I use to get when I was younger too) for 8.95. It’s awesome to know that the prices haven’t changed much either! Garlic roll is a winner. Garden salad with their homemade Italian dressing is a winner. Great place to grab a quick bite. Plenty of parking in or around the village. Miss this place! Gotta come back soon!

OK we’re biased, we live a few blocks away. But to be honest, this is one of the most NY styled pizzas Ive had in Los Angeles. The scoop: — Crust is slightly chewy with some give(this I love) — Toppings are generous and not skimped upon(bonus stars) — The pizza is big for the price(no small portions here, you truly get what you pay for) — Staff is friendly and very local oriented(tell them you live nearby, they will make sure you have a good experience) — They deliver(plus plus) — Ive never had a cold pizza arrive and the delivery guys aren’t corporate Want a real East Coast pie? Get it here… you won’t be disappointed!

Its good pizza. Not amazing/mind blowing pizza, but its dependable and consistent. Sometimes you don’t want some new, inventive, and creative pizza… you just want a good, simple slice. Thats this place. A little bit pricey-but it is on Larchmont.

The problem with Village Pizzeria is you just don’t know what you’re gonna get. Will it be one of their good days or one of their off days? When they’re good, it’s one of the best NY-style pizzas LA has to offer. When they’re bad, you wonder why you keep coming. Here’s hoping for more good days.

I’ve never been a fan on NY style, until village pizzeria. The clam and garlic pizza was to die for. All my life I always thought it was weird when people folded their pizza in half, but when I folded my pizza and took a bite, I was in heaven. The cheese was gooey stringy, the sauce is on point and the dough was the perfect consistency of crisp. Will definitely be coming back! Also had a bite of the sausage on another pie and it was also amazing. Yum!

I’ve gone here many times, the pizza has been pretty good each time, but the service has gone to shit. The waiters are rude, don’t really attend to customers and just leave you hanging. They used to have nice wait staff, the bus boys are cool, but the waiters just apathetic. Oh and their chicken noodle soup looks and tastes like its from a can.

The calzones are amazing! You can choose your cheese, and you can have all 3 cheeses, but after your first choice, the others have to be sides. Mozz and ricotta with mushrooms and artichokes is really good! Slice of their thin pizzas are also great. I’m not the biggest fan of the thick crust. Its hard to get a seat to eat in because there arent very many seats, but it is a very casual place! Clam and garlic white pizza and pepperoni red pizza are recommendable!

2 words — HELLYES! Happy to be living in this neighborhood. Happy to have found a good NY style pie. This place has been on my list of pizza to try in L.A. for far too long. Badabing! Done, great, want more. I had a 16″ pepperoni w black olives. It was reasonably priced(less than $ 20 I want to say), and pretty quick considering they have one small oven. Stare at the NY memorabilia on the wall while you wait. Things to remember: To go orders are to go. Parking may be a challenge on the street on Sunday(Farmer’s Market). But, it is FREE in the parking garage 1 block up on Sundays. No reservations. Awesome pizza! Cheers!

Pros: –the lady who took my order Cons: –service –food Summary: It amazes me how some places recieve high Unilocal reviews. I had two kinds of pizzas here and they were both soggy, boring, unispired food. Although the lady who helped me was very nice, rest of the staff was too busy and rushed to be friendly. There was a good number of customers so it seems popular, but I cant see the popularity being because of the quality of food or service. Go elsewhere.

I’d go as far as to say this is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a cute little joint on the row of many other cute little joints in Larchmont Village and totally looks like what you’d expect a pizza place to look. Came here on a Friday night and waited about 10 minutes for a table for two, which isn’t bad. My boyfriend and I were STARVING so we ordered a whole pizza: the thick crust Village Special. Needless to say, I totally overestimated my eating abilities and we ended up finishing about half and with me sitting with my eyes totally glazed over because I was too full to move or express emotion. Their sausages are really good and the crust was thick and soft without throwing off the cheese-to-crust ratio. One server recommended that we get the anchovies on the side since they’re salty, and I agree this was the way to go. Our other waitress was super friendly, so A+ service for Village Pizzeria. Also, the leftovers are still delicious the next day once you pop them in the microwave for a bit. Taking into account the number of meals you get with the full, it’s definitely worth the price.

The place is nice, clean, good service and decent parking, but I’m conflicted on the pizza itself. I’m a native NYer. I can say the slice I had was the right size and it had the tests I wanted, but the crust was far too thin. I might as well have been eating a cheese and sauce covered piece of matzah. That really bummed me out.

THINCRUST, BIGSLICE (3.4 stars) After boutique shopping in the area it was suggested to have a slice of pizza here. I can’t say no to pizza!!! Went for the Veggie Slice and it was tasty with loaded toppings of veggies. The crust was super thin but not as crunchy as I liked. Honestly, nothing too special about the pizza except that the toppings are fresh and the size is big. It’s a popular place so expect lots of people trying to tap in for a greasy slice. Until the next review…

OHMYGODTHISPIZZA! I just have to start out with that! Best. Pizza. I’ve. Ever. Had. In. LA. My boyfriend and I came in one night for the first time after searching so much for a real«pizza place» I can’t stand places like Dominos or Papa Murphys, makes me want to vomit. I needed real pizza! I’m from the EASTCOAST and this pizza does not disappoint! Reminds me of real New York pizza, and the Sicilian has become my favorite! Seriously, the cheese Sicilian, has become my favorite meal ever. Since discovering this place a little over a month ago, we’ve been over 8 times haha! Love you guys, thanks for everything(and the cheap prices because I’m still a college student on a budget!)

My favorite New York style pizza in Los Angeles. Got the Neapolitan pizza with pepperoni and mushroom. The pizza is thin, a little soggy in the center, and the outer parts are a little crispy. The staff comes and checks on you regularly. On another note, I saw Jason Alexander from Seinfeld walk by.

Oh so cozy. I walked in and was greeted by two friendly gentlemen. We sat at the ‘bar’ and looked over the very extensive menu. I just wanted a slice. and garlic knots. The garlic knot had potential but maybe were from an old batch. They weren’t even warm. They felt like they had just de-thawed them. The girl handed me a small plate with one sad garlic knot on it. No sauce or anything. Just one knot on a small plate. Sad looking really. The pizza was good and it came fast. I feel like their NY slice is a little thinner than a NY slice though. The base was pretty thin. But it hit the spot and yes a little greasy. I like the space. I looked around and there was every kind of person in there. In a city where trendy and COOL is the norm, this place stands out. I know I only gave it three stars, I wanted to give it four, but as I wrote about my food, I couldn’t justify four. But I will come here again and hope their knots are better.

My brother wanted pizza so we finally came here to give it a try. When we got in, it was packed and there were about 4 parties waiting ahead of us. We waited about 20 minutes and we were seated. We ordered a salad, raviloi, and pizza. I only tried a slice of the pizza and it was delicoous. The crust was ny style and not to much sauce(which I like). If you are craving a good pizza, definitely try this place but come expecting to wait a while.

DEEPDISHHHHHHH. One of my Chicagoan friends said this place makes a good Sicilian-style pizza, so my boyfriend and I came by for lunch after a museum outing. Stood by the«please wait to be seated» sign for ten minutes feeling like an idiot and being ignored by staff, so we went inside where we were promptly told to «take a seat anywhere.» You guys could put up a sign that says that instead. I was trying to have manners. But anyway… ambiance is super family-friendly; all moms and kids sitting outside sharing slices, inside was nearly empty(and had a much more fun vibe). Wish we could’ve sat outside; I bet it’s great at night. Service was chill. Majorly happy to get a heads up on how big those garlic knots were because we were going to get a dozen; four turned out to be more than enough. The knots were good, but I added a generous helping of garlic powder and parmesan to mine; to be fair, they were perfect texture-wise. Just a touch bland. Onto the pizza, which I got a slice of and was perfectly happy with. A little crispy on the outside, an airy not-too-thick interior, fresh veggies, and a tasty sauce… but man that pepperoni! Holy deliciousness! And under $ 20 for both of us?! Ridiculous. I would definitely come back for more. In fact, we’re already planning on ordering from here for our next game night! BRINGIT, PIZZAGUYS.

I have found one of my favorite areas to walk around, shop, and eat. Larchmont Village. Sister and I decided to go to the farmer’s market, shop at the nearby boutiques, then grab a bite to eat at the famous village pizzeria before hitting up salt and straw for dessert. I recommend the thin slice pizza over the thick. For me, the thick slice pizza were way too doughy and took away the flavor of the pizza. Their Pesto, Clam and Garlic, or even plain Cheese pizzas are the most popular and highly recommended.
