Finally, delicious middle eastern food in NELA. I chose the popular #14 and it was as tasty as advertised. Very friendly service from the owner and girl working the register. This will become a regular dining option.

Amazing food! Come to eat regularly and am more than satisfied every time! The friendly staff always greets at entrance and always have a smile on their faces! Portions are amazing and they always get me full. Prices are justifiable because the food is always made fresh everyday! No meat is frozen, that is something you don’t see now-a-days. If you are looking for local Mediterranean food this is the best in Eagle Rock!

Excellent food. Great service. Delicious falafels, and love their beef and chicken lule. Awesome neighborhood spot, right next to Occidental College.

Overall the food is good, but would have loved warm soft textured pita bread and fountain drink options; it’s currently only bottled and canned beverages.

This place is close by and their meats are well seasoned and very tender. I haven’t tried their wraps or sandwiches, because I like going for the solid meat with rice. I feel anything wrapped around the meat just gets in the way. Other than the meats, I particularly love the split pea stew(gheymeh) which really hits the spot on a cold night. It’s too bad that everyone else feels this way because they’ve sold out of this dish more than once when I’ve tried to order from there. U Pick — please make a concerted effort to make more gheymeh because that stuff is delish!

Are you kidding me? This place was freaking fantastic! I almost could not believe the quality of the take out we got. The place looks… like an eyesore from the outside but MYGOODNESS the food was amazing! We will be coming here all the time now. Prices are fair, food quality is top notch & the chef is freaking talented. The hummus was perfect, the meat tasty & perfectly grilled. I am honestly shocked of how good this place was! You have some new regulars!

I had the beef wrap for lunch. It was very good and very filling. I’m amazed at the excellent customer service we all received while dining in. The owner is beyond nice and makes you feel at home, same feeling from the rest of the staff. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other dishes at lunch. It’s also very clean inside.

Pretty good and tender meat but a little pricey. There are kabob places near my work that have combo plates that are $ 4 cheaper — which is a lot. We had the chicken and beef kabob combo & both meats are really good. The grilled veggies(especially the pepper) are good too. Service is very friendly. Not much can be said about the atmosphere though. I’ll probably do take-out next time.

Pretty solid Mediterranean food joint in HP. The chicken kebab wrap has moist, juicy chicken kebab chunks, garlic sauce, tahini and pickles. I usually get it with a side of tabbouleh(which they do excellently) or dolmas. The issue is the size of the wrap — pretty dinky. I noticed that of I order the chicken breast kebab wrap I will get more food. Their sides and salad/pickle portions are small too. If they jam-packed the styrofoam to-go container with more veggies and rice or hummus or something, I’d be more satisfied and might come out of my way to eat U-pick, instead of just work-lunch.

Cute little Medditterean spot located in Highland Park. Location: Located in a very small shopping plaza off of York Blvd and Avenue 47. Parking: As stated before it is located in a small shopping plaza. That being said parking can get very tight in the plaza. There is plenty of free parking on the street if you want to try that as well. Luckily most of the space is occupied by a landromat so there are a lot of people coming in going so even if it is full it isn’t for long. U Pick: As you walk into the restaurant the entire exterior is painted in a light green color that reminds me of pistachio ice cream for some reason. Anyways I was immediately greeted by the guy in the back. The menu is visibly displayed on the wall so you have no problem seeing what you can order. I ordered hummus and pita bread with mango sorbet since I was more pecking than hungry. My coworkers ordered the chicken breast wrap & chicken and beef(11) and while I didn’t eat it it looked good! The hummus was good not too greasy and, the mango sorbet was amazing!!! I will definitely come again to try some other dishes! I recommend this place!

Yes, U should head down to U-pick. I was nervous to go there at first. It was a new cuisine to me. Soo incredibly glad I gave it a chance. It’s delicious! The food is really good and the price is perfect. The meals are almost infinitely customizable to your tastes. They offer vegetarian and carnivorous fate. You don’t feel intimidated taking your time ordering because there’s a giant picture menu on the wall away from the front counter. To top all of this, the employees are as nice as can be. The manager even offered me a taster of a dish that will soon be on the menu. Do yourself the favor if you’re in the eagle rock/highland park area and treat yourself to U-pick

Love this place. It gets 5 stars for me for their quick and friendly service, delicious food, fair prices, and convenience to the Highland Park area. Ordered the chicken breast kabob with grilled veggies and tabbouleh. I placed the order online, and there were no issues there when I went in to pick it up. The order wasn’t ready immediately, but no problem! The nice man behind the counter gave me a sample of their lentil soup, which was perfect on a cold evening. When I got the order, the chicken was perfectly done, the tabbouleh was crazy fresh and I also had a large pepper and a tomato with excellent char marks. Also a thin piece of lavash. All for like 9 bucks. I could eat their tabbouleh for days. I think I’d like some small hot peppers and some pickled turnips/radishes in the box with the meal. Not a complaint. I’ll ask for them next time.

U Pick is quite a hidden gem! My family came here for lunch over the holidays. The setting is modest — an order at the counter/seat yourself place — but clean and bright. We were initially overwhelmed with the extensive menu, but the staff were friendly and patiently walked us through all of the options — including a great variety of vegan/vegetarian dishes. When the food came out, we were very quiet… you know it’s always a good sign when you’re too busy enjoying your food to carry a conversation! Each dish had generous portions of high-quality, made-with-love food. I savored every single fresh, flavorful bite and couldn’t help but clean my plate. The food here is enough for me to give a five-star rating, but I really can’t overstate how excellent the service was. It was so nice to have the staff accommodate all of our questions as we deliberated on what to order, check in on us as we ate, and care so much about our experience. We were taken care of like guests in someone’s home!

U Pick is a great addition to the neighborhood. The staff is really friendly. They have clearly marked vegetarian options and can answer questions about whether something is vegan. Twice I’ve had the falafel sandwich, no tahini, with garlic spread instead, and a side of hummus and cucumber salad. Easy to customize and it’s been done right both times. I think it totals around $ 8. One whole falafel sandwich is just a little too much for me and I’m a petite woman, but I sometimes do finish it anyway because I enjoy the flavor. The falafel sandwich is pictured on their menu with a side of pickled turnips but it doesn’t actually come with them. Once I asked for them and was charged extra, and once I was not charged. Still trying to figure that one out. U Pick is open til 9pm, later than a lot of other vegan-option go-to places in the neighborhood and you can dine in or take away.

U Pick Café is a delicious slice of Middle Eastern food heaven in my book. You really can’t go wrong with what they have to offer. My personal favorites are the beef and chicken kabobs, though the lule kabobs are very delicious too. I love their rice, it’s perfect, and the hummus is very fresh, which I love. I recently tried their lentil stew and loved that too! The flavors here are really good! My only slight gripe here is the price. It’s definitely on the pricier end when it comes to kabobs and that’s the main thing that keeps me from being here several times a week. My boyfriend and I easily spend between $ 40 – 50 when we come here(we both usually add an a la cart beef kabob that’s like $ 5 each for like 3 ounces of beef) and that’s literally one meal for each us and a drink. This is definitely another great delicious food spot on the ever growing and evolving landscape which is York Boulevard. It’s on my regular rotation, though its an after pay day treat most of the time, lol.

1) Awesome customer service and very nice people at the counter 2) Ordered the Beef Lule Kabob and Lentil Soup. The portions on the kabob plate was definitely not worth the $ 9. Suuper small portions and thin pieces of lule beef kabob. Lentil soup was really good and flavorful. Two stars based on the super tiny portions. Not worth what they are charging. I would rather drive to Glendale for Persian food.

This is My Hood and I must say I’m so glad that something else other than a crappy $ 5-ish Pizza place opened up in this spot. I never heard of U Pick Café but upon entering we were kindly greeted by I’ll assume the Owner who told us they also have a Pasadena location, we browsed the menu which was similar to «Zankou» with probably a couple different items. #11 Chicken & Beef Combo Plate($ 13.99) Chicken — Nicely marinated and grilled, moist and tender chicken had real good flavor. Beef — Not sure what cut of beef this is but kinds similar to a thicker cut skirt steak, beautifully seasoned and grilled to perfection, tender and delicious. It came with rice, I’m not a big rice eater but the wife liked it, Pita Bread and Hummus *(see below) #14 Chicken Kabob and Beef Lule($ 11.99)
Chicken — *(see review above, same Chicken) Beef — I have no idea what Lule means but this«Beef Kabob» is the Ground-beef type and NOT steak like above… nice flavors and nicely grilled. Hummus — Yeah it’s good! Yes, they did have that Garlic paste stuff I guess I didn’t take a photo, «I believe» they also had bottles of Sriracha available… Two thumbs up! I gotta have my food spicy! The kind Owner also gave us a couple(((FREE))) things to try, they were samples of their Soups/Stews #24 Ghormeh Sabzi — #25 Gheymeh — Both perhaps better suited for a Vegetarian than a Carnivore…

Just picked up chicken lule wrap, and it hit the spot. My first time to this place and first time trying chicken lule(ground chicken with spices). I would order this again! I ordered to-go, but the place is clean, quaint and low-profile with tv’s and free lemon water. The girl working was really nice and gave me a sample of one of their stews with chickpeas, lentils and mushrooms, which had great flavor. My order came with a side, I picked dolmas(a little too oily, but good nonetheless). I definitely be coming back or ordering for pickup or delivery. There were only 2 other patrons in there on a Sunday evening, so I hope it really picks up for them.
