So. .. their stuff looks great on their website but the actual product is far less valuable than it appears I won’t go as far as 1⁄10th(as another reviewer has written) but it’s at least 2−3x too expensive. Note that Twenty Gauge and Style de Vie are sister companies. I received a three-drawer lateral file that took about 4 months to deliver after ordering. It has a few dents and the«fit and finish» is really only fair. Yes it’s vintage but for $ 1200 I expected more quality and less character. I could find a similar item at a good flea market for around $ 400. And I too went through multiple emails asking about where the filing cabinet was; ultimately they were at least one month late(and that is a generous characterization). My advice: don’t pay until you see the final product and make sure you go in there to inspect. I bought over the web without laying my hands on the goods which is an example of hope triumphing over experience. I will not do that again. I would consider hiring their web designer, however.

i tried to give a no star review, but i had to choose one… one star is more than Twenty Gauge deserves… Twenty Gauge mishandled every aspect of my order… i sent them a picture of what i wanted and after 3 attempts, and twice the amount of time they told me… they delivered furniture not worth a tenth of what i paid… the supposed«polished steel» finish is awful. It looks like primer gray with sanding scratches all over it and looks nothing like the pictures on their website… they claimed that it was«hand sanding touches»… absolute nonsense… this was supposed to be professionally finished polished steel furniture, not the abomination they sent me… i put down 50% on the order, and they were supposed to collect the remaining 50% after delivery… instead they charged me the full amount months before i even got the furniture… they basically knew that they mishandled every aspect of my order, and wanted to make sure that i could NOT get my money back, so they took the full amount and forced me to compromise and continue with my order, even when they could not give me what i was initially promised… i demanded a refund, they refused. i demanded a partial refund to have the furniture refinished properly… they also refused… i was forced to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau… if you want details and/or the lengthy email correspondence i had with Twenty Gauge and it’s owner, i would be glad to send it to you… i just don’t want anybody to be taken advantage the way i was… Avoid Twenty Gauge unless you want to get ripped off…
