Well I stared coming to torta place 20 years ago. They are really good if you like Mexican«fast» food you most try this tortas to me the best is La Cubana and the one I invented with pierna ahumada and pierna deshebrada. 2 tips 1. Order by phone in advance cause sometimes You have to wait more than an hour. 2. Dont be afraid to make your own creations.

Worst customer service ever! I order 4 tortas de Milanesa and they gave me 3 chilangas I told the lady this wasn’t my order and she said she couldn’t do anything about it some guy offered to take my tortas and the lady said No! When I did the order through the phone the lady lied and said she had only enough to make 3 tortas which was a lie because when I arrived people where ordering! To top it off the one Milanesa torta I did get didn’t even come with beans! I recommend for people to stop going here and go to «Tortas Aztecas» in HP by Zoe street. It’s the same tortas but better service, the owner from tortas Aztecas use to work at tortas Movil years ago! And you can actually sit there and eat and have a good time!

These ladies are awesome and their Vegetarian torta is amazing! Call ahead they will tell you 30 minutes to an hour wait time and they aren’t joking. Also, get your drink in the liquor store. Other then that, your taste buds will thank you dearly.

Best tortas in the world! I usually get torta de milaneza with salchicha and extra salchicha. The wait can be long(20 – 40 minutes), but it is worth it. The prices are affordable a little bit over $ 6. Honestly you can taste a piece of heaven in every bite. Totally recommend this spot.

Best Torta Cubana! The wait time is totally worth it! The sauce they have, its not spicy but it give it that extra kick that it needs. Can never go wrong here. The ladies are good at what they do, the wait time is about 30 mins or so, but they try and get everyone. You gotto be early because they run out fast sometimes.

So if you’re a true Angeleno, I’m pretty sure you’ve tried your traditional standard Mexican street fare. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas… Well, let me tell you… you’ve never had a torta like this until you come here. If you’re not familiar with the«torta» simply put it’s basically a Mexican sandwich. You’ve got your meat, a layer of refried beans, usually complimented by tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, cheese, and slices of fresh avocado. This spot bases their concept on a torta that is «DF style». If you don’t know DF it’s known as the Federal District, or to us non-Mexicans as Mexico City. I’m assuming that’s how tortas are made back home in Mexico City. I’ve had many tortas from many spots, and at the superb recommendation of some good Mexican friends, I went with them on a Friday evening and decided to give this place a try. Long story short, two things that truly set this place apart. First the bread. Most torta spots will just use a plain roll sliced down the center, lightly toasted. Nothing special. But true sandwich connoisseur will know that most of the time it’s the bread that make the sandwich. I asked my friend what kind of bread they use and he really couldn’t describe it either in a specific way. It’s a «flat iron» style bread that’s toasted on the outside. But you bite into it and it’s just perfect. Crunchy on the outside and moist and soft on the inside. Come to think of it now, reminds me of the McDonald’s McGriddle bread, but without the maple syrup sweetness. Just awesome. Second, imagine this bread that I just described on their main specialty the«Cubana». Imagine milanesa(breaded steak), ham, and this thinly cooked layer of pork to a tender crisp(I forgot the name of this) all piled on with cheese, avocado, tomatoes and jalapenos and bonded harmoniously with this flat iron bread. This is one beautiful sandwich. I got to try some other ones, like the«Sonidera»(I forgot what this one had, but they were all similar but tasty) and the asada. The steak was very tender in that one as well. The sizes and portions are generous, and cut neatly in half wrapped in paper so it doesn’t get too messy either. But all in all, as mentioned… gotta try the bread and the go try the Cubana. Now for the fine print. This place is a tiny trailer parked on the corner of 27th St. and San Pedro St. so there is no physical address. If you’re heading southbound on San Pedro and see 27th, it should be on the right hand corner. The parking is scarce, but there is some street parking and you can casually park your ride in the adjacent liquor market parking lot at the corner for a little while. If you’re gonna take it to-go, that’s what I recommend. We actually parked our car on the parking lot and ate on the top of the trunk. And people that have done this before, you know food always tastes 10 times better when it’s eaten on top of a car trunk. Their hours of operation are somewhat limited. According to the flyer, they are open only on Fridays 4 to 9:30pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 11:00am to 8pm. Wait was a bit long(about 20 mins for three sandwiches) but well worth it. The entire show is run by 3 – 4 ladies but one bite and you can totally tell this torta was made with love. It almost tastes homemade. The neighborhood will have question marks all over it. I don’t recommend wearing your Rolex and driving your Benz. But doesn’t mean you have to dodge bullets while taking bites in between. This is all compensated by the many people waiting in line for service, so plenty of foot traffic and it’s a bunch of neighborhood locals. If you’re in for a true LA experience and want to try a torta that sets another bar, I highly recommend this place. One suggestion… go grab yourself a Mexican coke from the Mexicali Market right on the corner. Not the canned stuff, not the plastic bottle… the pure, unadulterated, made-from-sugar-not-corn-syrup Coke in a thick glass bottle imported straight from the border. Pairing this with the Cubana is akin to a fine glass of Cabernet with a superb dry-aged medium rare filet mignon.
