Titelle

I was not ready for the full corset commitment so I ordered an underbust corset (serre-​taille) from Titelle last April. I have a lot of black dresses, and I wanted something to improve them, not just a belt. So, I told Titelle what I wanted; we talked a lot about the fabric and the colors. It looks like the design we agreed on. I get compliments all summer so. mission accomplished. I LOVE IT.

I went to Christelle in december to talk about designing a custom wedding dress. I showed her very specific pictures of a wedding dress I wanted her to replicate, I.E. i wanted a «V» shape back to the corset and a dress that complimented my body. Unfortunately, instead of telling me right away she did not know how to do such, she pushed me into signing a contract telling me that the $ 40 for her design was a one time fee and was not to design more than one sketch. (none of the sketches she was drawing looked like what i had showed her; hence my big hesitation)
Her contracted stated that the dress would be done by April 15. 3 weeks before my wedding July 11, the «dress» was non existent.
I had to unfortunately let Titelle go and start my search over. She refused to give me the material i had paid for or any of my deposit back ($ 700).
This was definitely the biggest waste of time and money. She doesnt have a lot of customers so instead of telling me from the start that she was not able to replicate the dress i wanted, she rushed me into signing a contract with some really rough sketches that did not make me confident.
After 6 months, she finally had another inquiry for a corset at which point she told me we needed to hurry up and finish the dress. (this was after she cancelled 3 separate appointments with me for «personal reasons» only to reschedule 1 – 2 weeks later each time !! That adds up to a few months of delay caused by the designer herself!!)
She altered all the pictures she took to make her work look better and i am quoting her directly «this dress does not look the way it should» as she was taking pictures.
She tried things she told me she had never done and after it looked horrible told me she couldnt go back (do you really think its okay to «try new things» where you cant guarantee the result, on somebody’s wedding dress???)
I am now taking her to court to get my money back as for $ 700 i only got stress and a false guarantee that my dress would be done April 15.
I found a beautiful wedding dress for less than that and everyone complimented me on it, long story short, this is NOT worth the money, stress and time!
advice: if you dont want exactly what you see in her work that’s been done, and u dont want to over pay, do NOT waste your time.

Christelle helped me from the very first day, finding out my needs for my wedding corset and taking measurements; she even showed me the entire process and some of her techniques. She supplied a sketch within a couple of days and showed me appliques from ebay and etsy. She coordinated with the designer of the skirt and went with us to Fashion District to buy fabrics, then in no time at all (despite all of my stalling) created a gorgeous corset which fit perfectly and comfortably (no small feat for corsetry!) the day of the wedding. If you’re in need of a corset, or even a dress, you will look BEAUTIFUL when you go with Titelle.

I am a proud owner of a beautiful Titelle underbust. The craftsmanship is incredible, this designer clearly has an eye for detail. The fit is wonderful and I feel great when I get to wear it for special occasions.
In the future I plan to go back to get a full corset as I’ve fallen in love with her work. I highly recommend investing in one of these corsets or underbusts they are like pieces of wearable art and well worth the investment.

I ordered my first corset in Los Angeles in April 2011. The designer has given me the choice of fabrics, colors and accessories. Everything was done according to my tastes, and my creation was totally customized after 2 fittings (in a very nice studio in Mar Vista). The result is spectacular: a unique corset that I wear for special occasions and that even been used for a fashion photoshoot. My friends are all crazy ! I am very proud of my Titelle’s corset and plan to buy another one soon.
