Cool vintage record shop with a decent variety. Found some excellent condition original hip hop vinyl; Run DMC, Tone Loc and a signed Egyptian Lover album! super friendly staff.

I love this place… I was in the area one day and opted to Unilocal for a vinyl store nearby. I drove right over and fell in love ever. I was lucky enough that in my first visit they had a 50% off sale. My collection has become quite eclectic since. There’s a whole analogue world out there to discover. You can easily get lost in the crates for hours and reacquaint yourself with the musical nostalgia of different eras. I read the other reviews saying the guys lack customer service,I doubt those same reviewers even asked for help or asked a question. The guys let you roam around freely and will help if you ask them. As for those saying the LP’s are overpriced, the LP’s prices range from $ 3 – 25. I think the prices are very fair, you have to keep in mind some of the prices are depend on the artist, the popularity of the album itself, and when and where the records were cut. I can easily walk out of there with at least 6 – 10 albums and spend less than $ 50 and that simply because you won’t know what you might stumble upon. Do your record player a favor and check this place out… you won’t be disappointed.

Prices are awful. I’ll rather go to Amoeba Music down the street. Prices are a disaster, they are clearly overpriced records and the condition on many records are terrible get real! Good selection though but due to the prices, I won’t be coming back. Found plenty of funk/soul records unfortunately all overpriced. I’ll rather head up to swap meets or Amoeba for a better experience. For example there was a sealed aalon– cream city sealed for 25 $ at the store found it on eBay for 13 $ lol

It’s a great place to hang out. Aside from records, they have a lot of nice vintage gear like turntables, speakers, amplifiers, guitars, keyboards, and even a jukebox! I love to go through their 99 cents bin.

I came into the Record Parllour with a broken turntable. They were so helpful, looking into it right away, testing everything, and within a few minutes… fixing the problem. The problem didn’t take long, and they did not charge me anything. In return for the service I shopped and purchased some records. Since then I have been going back anytime I can. They have a wonderful selection, awesome specials, and tremendous service. I would also suggest liking them on Facebook as they announce discounts all the time. There is a guy named Chad who works there and he is 5 for 5 in giving me stellar recommendations. He’s eager to help and super friendly. The space is amazing, the staff is great, the selection is superb, and the pricing is more than fair. I love this place.

I owned a lot of vinyl years ago and I think it all landed in the Record Parlour! I was in the area after hearing of this little shop from a friend and it was great browsing through a bunch of classic LPs. And if you wind your way up to the small mezzanine, you’ll see some vintage audio gear for sale too. Great memories and a great experience!

I don’t know how many times I’ve walked, strolled, or driven past this place and not have seen it. It’s been at this location for two years and I missed it? *face palm* One Sunday evening a few weeks ago I was walking towards my car coming from Piano Bar, which I recommend the bar, and saw lights down the street but, of course, I’m trying to pay attention to my surroundings and really didn’t look twice at the time. Figured that I didn’t want to go straight home(you ever have times like that?) and drove to Amoeba to kill time. When I rounded the corner to Selma these golden lights had a glow against the gloomy evening sky. Glad no one was in front or behind me as I drove slowly to look inside. Made a mental note to stop by in the near future. Once inside Amoeba to take care of some business I researched via Unilocal to see what time they closed for the day. Since street parking was about to roll into free parking hours, I decided to walk back over. It kind of feels home-like inside. Really warm. I flipped through some crates and boxes just to get a feel of what they had to offer. Nothing here is new; by that I mean no current artists, which is kind of a plus. I saw some old records by the Eagles, the Beatles… even old Sesame Street records! Whenever I flip through records I always tend to search for Frank Sinatra(my weakness). At first I couldn’t locate him. Found Nancy easily though. Right before I walked out for good I looked down… boom. Frankie. Long story short… made the purchase. Had a nice conversation with the gentleman running things that evening. Very nice guy. Unfortunately I forget his name but he was the one that told me that they had been at their present location for a couple of years. I promised that I would be back and bring my dad along, a promise that I plan to follow through with. Even if it’s just to look at the Polaroids on the back wall, or take a gander at the jukebox in the front, it’s worth a visit. I’m even told that there will be a listening room in the future. How cool is that?!

Place is sweet. I’m always into a shops with deep(4+ shelves) «New Arrivals» sections. Walked out with a diverse array of stuff including strange sound effects, sweet Soul cuts, and some cool private label stuff.

These guys are great. Very clean and well-kept shop. Records are nicely sorted and you can easily find what you were hoping for and more! I went in to see about getting an old record player fixed. The owner gave me an honest assessment of what exactly was wrong and how much the repair would cost. Given the amount of work it, I sent it to the ebay gods for parts, BUT I will be back here for any record needs in the future. Prices were average and cheap on some records from what I have seen in other shops in the area.

This place is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Stumbled upon this place on a Saturday night and they had live music and beer. Prices are better than Amoeba too. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

The interior ambiance is really cool. Deep woods. Decent selection of items. A few things are overpriced but there were some gems. I did pass up on a lot of things since I saw them cheaper at Amoeba. Lately Amoeba’s prices have been terrible so that says a lot if I am passing up on stuff here to go there. I eventually got them to warm up to me but for some reason it was more work than it should’ve been. The really cool thing is that there are live bands that play here semi frequently.

Pricing: ~20%-40% higher on prices than Amoeba, Atomic(in Burbank), Freak Beat(in the Valley). Sadly, there is no frequent-shopper/loyal customer discounts. Customer Service: Not a lot of friendly faces in this place. The folks working here look incredibly unhappy and there seem to be zero reception to customers. However, I haven’t ever solicited advice on anything, so help with audio equiptment may be fine. I can’t say. Selection: Hey, it’s pretty good. But everytime I find something I want I look at the price and grimace. And then walk over to Amoeba and find it cheaper and in better condition. Cuteness Factor: Super cute inside. All-in-all, just okay.

Went there for a special event and it was very nice. Great place for a vinyl aficionado to explore and wonder about. They also have some old music magazines and Playboys as well as band press shots from years back. Also when you walk upstairs, you’ll also see some old stereo equipment and old books of music. It’s cool to see what you see in this store as you get to see pieces of history and vintage equipment and items. Unfortunately I don’t have my turntables anymore but loved the experience of coming here. If there was another event held at this location, I would surely come back.

This is absolutely the BEST record store in Los Angeles. They have everything! And if they don’t have something you are looking for, they will find it for you. The staff is very professional and courteous. These guys know their vinyl. Aside from the inventory on hand they also have a number of vintage Jukeboxes and old school radios on hand that makes the experience more authentic than the usual«flip through the records» type of places. When in L.A. make sure to visit this shop. They have great quality vinyl and a great selection.
