This is the ultimate ample place to practice or record. The owner, Chris, is the absolute salt of the earth. One of the sweetest guys ever. Anything you forgot to bring that day(guitar cable, mic, tuner, even a guitar or bass) he will provide without question. The rates are unbelievably reasonable. And although he may have a brut, slightly inappropriate, dry sense of humor, he is one of the most lax rental space/engineers I’ve ever met. Take the risk, endeavor in something new, and play some f-ing music here.

This place is awesome! Beer, whiskey, music, naked chicks, and nice restrooms! I came here once on a Friday and woke up Monday morning wearing some chicks field hockey jersey and spooning a 57 Fender Telecaster. Lucky for me it was a three day weekend.

Maybe hipster-type studios are supposed to be nasty and run by people who are products of an anal birth. The place resembled a bunghole, messy and trash strewn everywhere. The staff guy was rude as hell and I seriously hope the talking shitbird goes out of business before his attitude infects anyone else.

LOVETHISSTUDIO! My band mate Danielle recommended this spot to us and we love it. We’ve used all of the rooms, and even the smaller ones retain decent sound. The walls are thick and all of the doors and double, so the most you’ll hear while walking in the hall are muffled sounds. The staff is super friendly and helpful. If you arrive a few minutes late then you can usually get a few extra towards the end. All of the equipment not only works well, but is CLEAN. Mixers for the PA are standard in each room and they also work well. If there is an issue with any equipment, the staff will replace it a.s.a.p. One time I forgot a pick, and the guy up front lent, then gave me one of his. What a nice guy. I’ve never recorded here, but the studio is packed with up to date equipment and soundboards. I would consider recording in the space. Prices are fair, and the times are convenient. We’ve rehearsed at 2pm on Saturdays, or 9 pm on various weeknights. We’ve seen people come to set up at midnight before. They hold musicians hours for sure, and if you can’t make it on time, then the front desk will help reschedule the session without being jerks. Love this spot. Also, right next to Silverlake Coffee, and across from the Cha Cha Lounge. HOWCONVIENENT.

Out of all the places you can go in Los Angeles to record or rehearse I swear, when we found this place it was like the Universe just handed us the best Christmas present ever!!! Chris, the owner is amazing and the vibe couldn’t be more chill or welcoming. I practically live there now. State of the art equipment and plush atmosphere… it doesn’t get better than this. GOTHERE. It’s really the happiest place on earth.

I have had the pleasure of stopping my the hit joint on various occasions while in LA. If you’re looking for an awesome, unpretentious and inspiring place to record and rehearse at, The Hit Joint is for you. I’ve spent time in many recording studios and the vibe, quality and overall experience here surpasses any other place i’ve been to. Chris will sort you out with everything that you need to help you to create the best sounds possible. He is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly(you’ll definitely end up staying for a drink or two after your session)…and ladies — there’s an additional perk here — Chris is a total Hottie! Now, I did say that this place was inspiring… hello Muse! The Hit Joint is also conveniently close to Cha Cha Lounge and Red Lion, so when you’re done working(or just fancy a boozey break) you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to wetting your whistle. It’s all around good vibes at The Hit Joint. I don’t have to tell you any thing else… get over there and experience it for yourself!

I have the pleasure of coming here about once a week for my husband’s band’s practice. Well, I say«practice», but, we’re talking about musicians. So, a practice-party hybrid. Anyway, I love tagging along and coming here. The guys who run the spot are seriously awesome, and consistently crack me up. You couldn’t ask for a friendlier atmosphere. The rooms and equipment are great, and it’s just all-around good vibes. Plus! Best Mexican food truck ever across the street. And Cha Cha Lounge, too! God wants your band to practice here.

Great studio. I came here for the first time about two months ago for a quick jam sesh with some friends. Great staff, very friendly and polite, they are open very late(sometimes until 2am) the rooms are great and so is the equipment.

Okay, so you’re sick and tired of your old man or lady chewing out your lazy ass for drinking too much at the Red Lion or Cha Cha and for spending whatever else you have left on rare vinyl over at Rockaway. But now you have a real reason to visit this hood with the opening of The Hit Joint. Chris and Mike have created a real cool spot for musicians to hang, where you can put in a few hours practice and still hit all the spots you love. Don’t feel like loading your broken-down drum kit in the van and wasting all that precious time with set up? Not to worry, each rehearsal space has a full back-line of gear so the only thing you have to worry about is getting there. For guitar and bass, just plug in and go. And forget the nightmare of street parking, broken meters, and those potential sideswipes by drunken loons speeding down Glendale. Their private parking lot puts you right in the middle of all the action with none of the hassle. Full recording services are also available for those looking for that special professional touch.
