Very good pub food. Well managed beer and beverage options. Comfy space. BUT… The room is prone to getting loud on account of its hard acoustics. And I don’t know who’s iPod they play but it’s always Über obscure hipster stuff which I find annoying. If you stumble into a trivia night and don’t care to play it can make you wish they put the lame music back on! Your mileage may vary.

We love the wings and the manager is a cool dude. It’s a great neighborhood bar. We needed a Cheers for a long time in highland park and now we have it. The owner is a bit of a spazz so they lose 1 star for when he runs around ranting and raving. I mean, yeah, sports are important, but are they THAT important?

Laid back bar/pub with some pretty decent food, conveniently located right next door to the nail shop I go to. Hits: Cheeseburger(tastes like a home cooked one). Ahi tuna fries. French fries with ahi tuna on top, drenched in some sort of spicy mayo sauce. It’s very good and a cool/trendy twist on chili cheese fries. I was pleasantly surprised at how the textures worked together and the sauce felt like I was having cheese. Gotta try it if you like ahi tuna/poke. Shrimp+Grits are delish, my fiancé orders it all of the time. The steak nugget appetizers are decent. The jerk chicken wings are tasty. it’s actually more of a North African rub rather than a Jamaican rub. I know this for a fact b/c I make a very similar rub. The wings are good, except for the last time, they were cooked a few minutes too long. Happy hour is legit. Cheap, strong cocktails. All in all a decent place to frequent. **UPDATE: Recently tried the Spicy tuna on top of toast for lunch. The tuna was cooked but not dry. Loved everything about the dish from the avocado to the green onion and sesame seeds. Paired with a Cesar salad and came with a drink. for like $ 11.

Came for lunch had the eggplant Parmesan sandwich with a side of Brussel sprouts and a beer. The food was delicious! Beer selection is pretty nice. Good range of craft beers on tap and in bottles. Definitely stop in here if you’re near!

Found myself here on a Wed. night after leaving the restaurant next door due to a neglected hipster kid throwing a temper tantrum(sh*tty parenting at it’s best). The Greyhound good: Great atmosphere, great drink deals, great beer selection, friendly staff, and the food was pretty good. The bad: no service, bar service only and it’s somewhat slow, hipsters smugly drinking canned Olympia beer from a glass whilst grooming their bad facial hair. On a busy night, it may be tough to get your order in in a timely fashion. Even though I’ve lived in HP for over 10 years, I’ve avoided this blighted part of town for sometime. Although, my contempt for hipsters is strong, I like too see the gentrification the area is undergoing and the Greyhound is a nice addition to the area.

Love this neighborhood joint. Friendly bar staff where everyone feels welcome. My personal favorite is the Greyhound burger, but the Permulater(sp?) which is their version of the Rueben, the Brussel sprouts and the Greyhound salad are all pretty kickass too. Nice beer and wine list and a great sports bar or just laid back place to grab a drink when you’re in Highland Park. Also not a bad option for breakfast(«not Brunch») as the menu proudly proclaims. If you’re down with more of a pub vibe than a brunch vibe this is your spot.

Nice wood feel and look. Real character. Good beer selection. But this place is so up its own ass. Its sort of hipster Brooklyn’s version of Buffalo Wild Wings. I was firmly corrected however by the bartender(I think I’m allowed to call him that) when I referred to it as a sports bar despite the huge screens showing sports(with no sound, but snappy music). Must be pointed out that the windows overlook a cool graffiti version of spray-paint Jesus.

What we got tonight was the, chucks friend chicken strips platter, loaded fries, and one pound of Cajun chicken wings. By far the best chicken strips and fries I have ever had! Also they have a huge screen for watching the games. And it’s great! There’s great drinks at the bar and the employees are very much gentlemen! I only wish there was table service!

Came for happy hour with a couple friends. It’s a very cute and fun spot for happy hour. They have happy hour everyday from 4:00 — 7:00. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was 50% off so $ 16.00 and the FAMOUSLOADEDFRIES. Wow, they are delicious. Golden, crispy fries topped with cheese, bacon bits, scallions, and sour cream. Absolutely delicious and enough to serve 3 people. We also ordered the honey sriracha wings. The wings were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The food is really good. There is street parking and a lot right behind the bar which is very convenient. My only drawback with this place is you have to order at the bar. No waitress/waiter comes to you to take your order. Other than that, very fun spot to come too and I will definitely be back for happy hour. The food is good quality, reasonable prices, and very fresh. Also, you don’t have to sit at the bar to take advantage of the happy hour prices which is nice!

Hot diggity DAMN we FINALLY have a VARIETY of DELICIOUSNESS in HIGHLANDPARK! ! I’ve been a resident of Mount Washington for 13 years, and although I have always adored our local authentic Hispanic cuisine, I have been simply starving for a broader spectrum of food options. The Greyhound is here, and really satisfies the craving for an All American burger or fish n chips! Menu is fabulous, the corn bread to DIEFOR. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner,(marinated chicken kabobs, couscous)…um, YUM. Hand crafted cocktails a big breath of fresh air. Highland Park is stepping up. …ready for this ride. Thank you, Jesus.

Fun bar and AMAZING staff! My friend just moved to Highland Park so we thought we’d check out the nearest bar. This sports bar is pretty big and they have plenty of booths and tables to sit at. They also have a large screen where they show movies at night(though just as background considering the noise) and I’m sure they feature sports for the big games. The bartenders treated the group to a shot to welcome the new resident. They were friendly and the service was fast. I recommend getting their beers over this mixed drinks at this type of place. They also have great burgers!

Come here on a semi regular basis. Food has always been good. I have to get the burger without salt cause it can be too salty for me. I think it has reasonable prices for beer and food. They took the tomato soup off the menu which I’m super sad about it was excellent!!! They have two tv’s above the bar then a projection screen on the wall that they show sporting events on. Will definitely be back.

I ordered a jerk chicken wing and it was char black! We also ordered fried cauliflower. It was char black as well. I hate to try anything else here that goes in a fryer. We ordered daytime and drank soda so obviously it’s meant for drunks who won’t notice the color of their wings. The spicy tuna was obviously from a can. I reserve the term«spicy tuna» to sushi joints from now on.

I was looking for somewhere to watch the dodger game and happened to be close by to this joint and it was a great find. During dodger games, they offer a special… 412 oz cans of beer in an ice bucket for $ 11… a 1 lb order of wings + can of beer for $ 9… and those are the only two I did that day but there are others. A lb of wings is not enough. just trust me. Their wings are really good. I don’t know if weird wings bother you, but they definitely freak me OUT! A wiggly wing that’s gonna slap me back when I take a bite FREAKSMEOUT! I like my wings really cooked well… like chicharon well… I usually ask for them well done because wiggly skin wings make me want to kick puppies. This place has their wings on point. I didn’t try anything else really, but everyone around me was ordering fries and burgers which looked REALLYREALLYGOOD(I’m trying to avoid fries because they’re killing me softly)… I could hardly contain myself from asking my neighbors if I could just try one… please? come on… just one…:( I liked the scene here… everyone really cool and mixy. I also think I saw what looked like a funeral group hang out w/their buddy’s picture propped up next to them(decided to put that in my todo list for my future funeral) aaaand you think I’m a creep now. go to greyhound bar because its dope.

Went to this restaurant for lunch today. It’s mainly a bar, so you order at the bar. They have a good size list of drinks and some good food as well. I had the Olsen sandwich, which was chicken/chipotle-pesto/provolone/greens. Really good! They didn’t skimp on stuff! I got a side salad and it was a good size as well. The dressing was a little much, but good. I didn’t have it, but the iced tea is really good as well. Actual brewed tea instead of from the soda fountain. Would definitely return again. Maybe I can come when Tottenham is playing!

Great staff with good tips. Great music. And the obvious and most important part… Effing. Great. Food. In this area tomorrow, already looking forward to another dinner here. Can’t really think of anything they could improve on… Two weird and unimportant things were that the red wine was a touch cold and the butter perched upon my steak was cold at first, but melted within 30 seconds. The wings are THEBEST I’ve ever had and the steak nuggets are ridiculous. Yum.

A very chill bar, with a very interesting menu. What more could you want? The beer selection is fantastic, the food options look delicious, and the bartenders were super friendly and hilarious! If you’re looking for some good drinks in a bar with a good vibe, check them out!

NOTTHEDOG, ORTHEBUS, BUTYOUCANGETTHEDRINKHEREATTHEGREYHOUNDGASTROPUB BACKGROUND: Three guys one day, decided to move east. All three owners set out to create their version of a neighborhood pub. The result was The Greyhound Bar & Grill. The Greyhound is a full bar with 20 tap handles, mostly dedicated to craft beer but without a limitation on anything. The idea is to have beer for everyone, from casual drinkers to adventurous beer geeks. The wine list is small and exciting featuring value-driven Old World selections, hand-picked by the owners to satiate any palate. All spirits are placed to serve a niche for different palates rather than specific brands. It was the only place that offered a wide variety of menu options, wasn’t to crowded or noisy, and although the quarters were tight, we were all able to sit together. With sport memorabilia hanging around, the dark wood floor, bar, and tables make for a pretty cool joint. This is a no table service kind of place, so we strolled to the end of bar where we placed and paid for our order and received our receipt and a number for food delivery. We slid, scooted, and sat in our place at our table anxiously awaiting for our food. With so many peeps in our group, I think everything on the menu was ordered; burgers, salads, and other speicals. I had one of their specials of the day, chicken parmigiana sammie with fries. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually very good. I thought was take a major risk ordering such an item at a pub, where even the simplest items are worse than the stuff one can pull out of their freezer. There were no complaints on the food, the service was good, considering if we needed anything additional, ie… beverage refills, nappies, condiments we had to get up and get it ourselves. Something a big challenging when you’re the one squeezed in the corner of the booth, crawling under the table was the easiest and less disruptive. #23 #visithighlandpark #gastropub #shuffleboard

Good food, good service, good pour. Seat yourself. Order at the bar. Efficient food delivery. I had the fancy McRib — it was fancy in a sloppy BBQ kind of way. Hubby had the tandoori wings — nothing short of delish! Looking forward to another visit, another round of wings and another round of drinks.
