I really do not understand these 5 star reviews. I tried this on Saturday in Santa Clarita (Food Truck Saturdays). Paid 12.00 for fish and chips. The price was ok, the quality was not. Its disconcerting to order food and see boxes of Krustez fish fry mix, huge bags of Taylor Farms coleslaw mix, more bags of cheap white sesame seed buns. The coleslaw mix had that gross «bagged taste». It was extremly salty and inedible too. The fish was greasy and had no flavor. The actual cod was good, it was the coating that was terrible. The fries were pale and limp and definitely not hand cut. The fries looked like, but did not taste like McDonald’s fries. I could taste the oil in these fries. They were just really bad. I totally wasted 12.00 on this meal.

Best meal I’ve ever had from a food truck. I’m eating the combo — most expensive thing on the menu at $ 18 — totally worth it. Includes a full size crab cake, 2 pieces of fish, 6 shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and a drink. Food was cooked perfectly and seasoned really well. 3 fantastic sauces came with: Sricha mayo, spicy cocktail sauce, and a zippy tartar sauce. Loved them all! Fav was the crabcake — heavy on the crab and Old bay

I saw this food truck as one speck of three in pershing square from the 44^th floor of my building. I wasn’t sure if it was down there or not because my vision is not very good and I’m not following them on twitter. Once I got down there I looked at the menu I was hooked. Then I saw the fish ‘n chips and I figured, when in Rome. I was very happy with my decision. The batter on the fish was very fresh and buttery. It was pretty thick too, most fish and chips I’ve tried the batter is pretty thin and very crunchy. But this batter was a lot softer which was cool. I also ordered fries which were pretty good but the highlight was the fish. I assume it was cod but I’m not sure. This was one of my favorite food trucks I’ve tried in the last 5 months.

The Codfather was parked outside of Nobar yesterday and I was glad the reviews were right. I ordered the chicken nachos they were delicious. Lots of gooey cheese, crunchy chips and plenty of other toppings. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos and they were good too. The corn tortillas were slightly toasted so they didn’t get soggy and make a mess. The servings are also great portions. The nachos are piled high and the tacos come in three. Later in the night I order plain fries and they were great. The service is quick and if not too busy they bring the food inside for you when ready.

The CODFather lives to cook and it is evident in the care taken with the fish (fresh filets of cod, battered with a secret blend of spices and fried to perfection) and chips; the Panko-encrusted shrimp are hand-breaded with FRESH Panko crumbs — a treat for the mouth. Give The CODFather a chance! It’s worth every penny to dine on a meal prepared by someone who truly loves what they do! (And encourage him to add hush puppies back onto the menu, please.). I look forward to trying dither dishes as well (today’s special was an Angus burger).

I had the fish and chips w/coleslaw. The coleslaw was very good. The fish was perfectly cooked, coated and seasoned (a little on the peppery side). The fries were just okay.
The only reason this received four stars instead of five was because there were bones in the fish — very unexpected for fish and chips.

Just discovered The Codfather Food Truck this evening and it was one of the best finds ever! Their Mac N Cheese is amazing! Several coworkers and I tried their food and are instantly hooked! And the service was great! The owner is really nice and made the experience enjoyable! Looking to try something new on the menu next weekend! Everyone should try them out! You WON’T be disappointed!
