The wait here is absurd. The cashier takes about 3 minutes per person. Once you finally order, they take way to long to get you a simple coffee and they get it wrong about half of the time. When you try ordering on Tapingo, they give you an arbitrary ETA and they take much longer than quoted. I ordered an iced espresso and added milk to my liking. When I asked for a lid, I was told I could not have a lid because I was cheating the system and making my own iced latte. I am already overpaying for a coffee and now they are annoyed because the little bit of milk I add to my espresso is costing them too much. I would get a lid if it was hot, but because it’s cold I don’t get a lid. USC is truly pathetic in their attempt to squeeze every last cent out of their students.

A great new lunch option on campus! The Café has a lot of healthy options, a cute Parisian theme, and is located in the trendy new Annenberg building. I ordered the Kale/Farro White bean soup and the Kale & Farro salad over Tapingo and it came out right on time! The salad is less of a salad in the traditional sense and more of a taboule type side salad. It had a mediterranean dressing that was delcious! It was mostly chopped veggies(cucumbers and carrots) with very little kale. Tip: get the 6oz – its only a tad smaller than the 12oz because they come in the same container and they don’t really measure. The soup was also very hearty and delicious. full of beans and veggies. Super delicious and light and also both at a great price! Will order again soon.

The Café is USC’s newest counterpart to the shiny Annenberg building that was just added in 2014. The coffee is Illy brand and in between classes, the line for this little café is always long. There are a nice array of pastries, paninis, salads and soups which makes The Café a really nice spot to grab a to-go lunch in between classes or while studying. The coffee is pretty good, in my opinion somewhat tastier and less sugar crazy than Starbucks. They also have a lot of interesting combinations and options on the menu. As much on the USC campus is, most of the items at The Café are overpriced. But at least what you get is tasty, and usually filling! Try and plan a visit at times that avoid busy class breaks.
