I decided to try this restaurant as recommended by my co-worker for lunch. Parking is a little tight and possibly inadequate during busy hours. As I entered the restaurant, we were escorted by a server right away your table. The ambience is nice and saw the charisma of traditional Thai. For appetizer, I ordered fried tofu with sweet and sour sauce and I couldn’t explain how perfect it was… so crispy in the outside and very soft in the inside. I’ve tried deep frying soft tofu before and it always gets mashed unintentionally. For main course, I ordered Thai BBQ and it’s so soft and flavorful. My co-worker ordered Thai short ribs, which by the way tastes like Korean Galbi, sweet and tenderized. Their Arnold Palmer looks so cool as well for looking pinkish(I forgot to ask what kind of tea they used). Servings are pretty generous and could be shared. Price is not bad as well. However, one of the male servers doesn’t seem like he’s pleased to work that time and kept walking away in the middle of the request. Anyhow, this place is recommendable and I will come back here.

I have come here a handful of times because I love the food and they have a few dishes that are my fave: the Spicy Lime Grilled Pork, Crabmeat Fried Rice, Thai BBQ and of course the Mango and Sticky Rice dessert. Two days ago I went with a friend for lunch and I received by far the worst service one could ever imagine. I didn’t see a manager because the whole lunch service I only Saw 3 servers. I believe the female server’s name is Potae(name on the receipt). First, she didn’t even acknowledge me When I came in. I sat down and she was on the phone taking an order. I flagged her down letting her know i wanted to order becAuse My friend was close by and wanted the food to be on order while she was en route. Shortly after I sat down, two older Asian businessmen sat down. She approached their table after getting off the phone. She brought them China silverware and water. I flagged down a male server and he informed me that the other girl was going to be taking care Of me. She passed by and ignored me when I told her I was ready to order. My friend finally arrived and then she approached us. While ordered the food, I noticed that the two gentlemen already started receiving their food. I started to observe her interactions with other tables(mostly older folks with kids). She just gave us poor service the whole time! Didn’t give us napkins when we needed, didn’t bus our table!(I stood up and brought 4 dirty plates to their bussing area) and she got our coffee order wrong when i repeated it twice. I asked for a large Thai coffee and asked for two Togo cups so that my friend could share it. She brought us one in a small cup. I asked her if it was a large and she stated that it doesn’t come in a large to go cup. She clearly didn’t follow my directions. This girl is very incompetent and is bad for business. I gave this place two stars coz i still like their food– but this bad service makes me not want to go there anymore. I have introduced at least 5 new people to this spot but I don’t plan doing so after that experience.

I like coming to this place since the prices are reasonable and the portions are decent as well. I usually order the crispy pork belly basil and crab fried rice. The sticky rice with mango is also pretty good here as well. The staff are nice and at times there is a live band playing. There is also free refills on fountain drinks which is a plus.

I was super hungry after Thai dessert & snack shopping with a buddy. We decided to come here since we came via the subway. Anyways, we shared a plate of chicken pad see euw. If I heard her correctly, the waitress said that the plate would be large enough for 4 people to share. The food came, & I was surprised by the amount of food. We thought we would have to doggy bag it. Nope, both of us were really hungry & ate most of it. It was enough for 2 people or one incredibly hungry person. The taste was alright. It’s a cute little restaurant. I like how there’s a little tray of stuff to season your noodles on each table. Ambiance was cool & warm. The white tables & wood framed doors & windows give it a «beachy» or a nostalgia with a modern twist feel. Service was great. The price wasn’t toooo bad. Less than $ 20 for 2 people.

I always get seated right away and the employees are very nice. Picky is a great server! The food is great. I either get curry And pad tai. I’ve never had brown rice like this. also the calamari. Reminds me if chicken nuggets. It’s very unique . Sometimes they have live music. It’s a popular place but not too packed. I can’t stand a loud restaurant and this place is just perfect. The crowd is a great mix of people. I go here almost every week and it’s not out of convenience. Parking kinda sucks, so i always valet for $ 2. Also, i wish it was open later, but otherwise i hope they keep doing what they’re doing. :)

Let me start by saying, the food here is GREAT. But the customer service is sadly awful… It seems like this place is always understaffed which is a total bummer. Hopefully they’ll get some more soon. Also, one time their register ‘wasn’t working’ so they could only take card and not cash… weird. Once you actually get your food, it’s amazing. I highly recommend the Tom Kha Soup. It’s got an amazing flavor. Also, the noodles are quite splendid. Restaurant is a pretty good size and has a decent ambiance.

Went here for the first time today on the suggestion of a friend. Saw the valet sign as we approached, so like a ninja I swooped into a parking spot on the street. Valet is apparently just $ 2, but I didn’t care to find out. Apparently this place gets quite crowded, so we were there at the right time. Sure enough the crowd began to creep in about 20 minutes after we arrived. Fast forward through it all: Good service. HUGE menu. Literally about 130 items! I settled with– Calamari to share– arrived cut in large chunks, cooked perfectly Appetizer sampler to share– vegetable rolls, crab«bags», shrimp rolls and fried tofu. shrimp pad thai– huge portion, maybe 8 shrimp crab fried rice– huge portion Taste test– I found it all to be pretty bland, unfortunately. The waitress asked our preference of heat/spice on the crab rice. We asked for spicy. I tasted nothing. Friends had eggplant chicken, which looked really good, and bbq garlic ribs. All in all, I would still consider going back because my friend loves the place. Maybe I need to be more adventurous, but I figured on the first try I couldn’t go wrong with the classics. We’ll see…

Ordered vegetarian pad Thai and it was disgusting. Food lacked flavor. The curry was okay but the tofu was not great. We also had the catfish which was fried but was really fishy. Idk about the meat dishes but the vegetarian ones weren’t so great. Not sure if I’ll be back

Prices are pretty cheap and the restaurant is spacious, plus it has outdoor seating. The calamari appetizer is pretty large and a way better option than the super fried versions at other restaurants. I had the garlic fried rice and that was pretty delicious. It tasted fresh and healthy. The chicken was shredded and it was flavorful without having to add anything to it(hot sauce) My favorite go to Thai item is PAD Thai but I gotta say theirs wasn’t my favorite :/ It really didn’t have any flavor and i found the noodles to hardly have any sauce. Im not saying I want bright orange noodles but I definitely don’t want them to be pretty much still clear. I added red pepper flakes, simbal, and jalapeños at the restaurant and it still wasn’t enough flavor. I got home and added siriacha and it was finally just good but not great. Pretty good restaurant as a whole, but in terms of PAD Thai, no.

Forget Pad Thai. It’s all about the Drunken Noodles! Spicy pan fried flat rice noodles with chili, bell pepper, basil and onion full of delicious smokey wok hei flavor. Definitely one of the best noodle dishes I’ve had. Massaman Curry is another great underrated dish which is the Thai interpretation of a Persian dish(Massaman meaning mussulman, an ancient word for Muslim). Tastes similar to Indian curry in my opinion, far superior to any of the other curry variety offered. It’s a Dark curry sauce with coconut milk and the typical addition of carrot, potato, onion and protein of choice though you’ll find bits and pieces of peanuts in it as well. So flavorful! Crispy Pork Belly Basil with onion, bell pepper and sweet basil is quite delicious. Pork is tender and crispy, not dehydrated and über chewy like how their competitor from across the way(Ruen Pair) ruins it with their awful pork belly. Don’t know how anyone could mess that it but they do it right here. Larb ‘Salad’ with either ground chicken or pork is another favorite dish of mine, so refreshing. Consists of onion, cilantro, fresh mint and ground roasted rice in spicy lime juice & fish sauce. Slightly sour with pungent fishy flavor. So tasty! And I don’t know why but they happen to serve Tempura Ice Cream if you do so happen to crave dessert. Hits the spot. Great food overall. Great prices. I believe it’s about $ 15 minimum to use a credit card. They’re bad about splitting the bill on two cards unless each tab hits the minimum. In that case carry cash cause these people love cash dolla billz ya’ll!

If you love Thai food like I do, then it would be awesome to live smack dab in the middle of Thai Town with all the Thai eateries in the locale. This particular plaza has several Thai restaurants and I had a chance to eat here on one occasion. The staff were friendly and I liked the casual ambiance while giving you a choice between dining inside or outdoors on the patio. Theres not much of a view however it could be good on a warm day. However, the dish we had was a bit off, I’m hoping it was just a bad day and I’d still come back again to try some other things. We had the crispy pork dish and the pork was a bit overcooked. That’s not going to scare me off however as I’m sure the other more traditional dishes like the noodle dishes, soups and curry dishes would be good to try. I’d still come back mostly for the friendly staff and ambiance. Update to follow…

First we ordered the Spring Rolls and Fries Calamari. The rolls were very fresh and very delicious. The calamari was super meaty and tender. For dinner, I had the Fresh Ginger Chicken Stir Fry and it was perfect… the ginger was not overwhelming at all. The restaurant was clean. The staff was nice and very attentive. Prices are reasonable. We «shared» a table with a party of 3 which was a little awkward at first since we had to share condiments. I enjoyed eves dropping in on their conversation about Halloween costumes though. 5 stars and I would definitely go back to eat!

Been coming here for ages maybe around 9 yrs already. Foods are really good here. Our fav here: Spicy fish fillet basil(fried), Grilled Pork Salad and Pad See Eew with fried tofu. We always come here around noon. Hate coming here for dinner because they got very crowded and the food will come so slow.

LATENIGHTEATS Thai Town doesn’t close until 5am so having Thai food at 3AM sounds«normal». There are so many restaurants to choose but ended here because it’s a latenight go-to amongst the group. The place gets packed but luckily no line. Food is family style so expect big portions for dirt cheap pricing. CRISPYTOFU — the tofu looks ugly and their big pieces. But who cares what it looks like — it’s really good crispy tofu. They really crisp the outer layer of the tofu and the inside is delicate and soft. That’s good tofu! HIGHLYRECOMMEND. TOMKHASOUP W/CHICKEN — it’s really good, packed with flavor, chicken, and mushrooms. we asked for mild and got«Thai» spicy. I could only take in a few spoonfuls before calling it quits. Good amount of heat but a little more than asked for. PADTHAI($ 8.50) — this was enough to feed several people and take left overs home. Went with tofu because their crunchy tofu is off the hook here. It’s not the typical tofu you have with pad Thai it’s their crispy tofu which looks like brown rocks laying on top of the pad Thai. But… The pad Thai wasn’t that great. It was BLAND and lacked the authentic flavors. I was disappointed to come to THE Thai Town to have a poorly executed staple dish. I think they make mass quantities of this for the late evening crowd and the flavors weren’t evenly spread. The taste just wasn’t there. DON’T RECOMMEND. CRISPYPORK&CHINESEBROCCOLI($ 7.50) — this was off the chains!!! The broccoli were cut to small bite size pieces and mixed in the broccoli were small crispy pork meat — packed with delicious PIG flavor. HIGHLYRECOMMEND. Until the next review…

DRUNKENNOODLE. Just drunken noodle. Here are Thai Patio’s quick highlights: it has tons of seating, it has a pretty affordable menu, and its servers are attentive. You should order the drunken noodle. Even though the dish loosely resembles a pile of squid, its taste far outstrips its presentation.(The subtext here is that I consider a pile of squid to be unappetizing.) I have had a variety of curries here and found them all a little underwhelming; stick with the fried rice and noodle dishes. They are a much more satisfying meal, both in terms of quality and quantity. Thai Patio is a great casual spot for friends and loved ones. Thai Patio is not a place to impress a date; its cheap décor and acoutrements suit the overall entry-level feel of the place. That is not to say it’s dirty or cluttered – it’s not – but don’t expect to be wowed by the atmosphere. Overall, it’s a fun spot – the noise level is comfortable and makes you feel comfortable to laugh and enjoy yourselves with a group of people. Hit this place up when you’re with people you enjoy and don’t feel the need to impress anyone.

Great flavors, good portions, fair value, nice service, cool hours, and live music if you’re lucky. This is my to-go place for thai food in Hollywood. (and apparently, SNL’s Kyle Mooney’s as well– I met him there).

If you’re looking for a bargain on Thai Food then you must check this place out. The prices are overwhelmingly cheap for authentic Thai food. My group ordered family style dishes to share. We started off with the sampler, which consisted of fried tofu, wrapped shrimp, egg rolls, and fried crab. Also comes with a sauce for dipping. I skipped on the shrimp, as I’m allergic to it :-( Our main course was beef egg plant stir fry, chicken yellow curry/with potatoes, & pork pad see ew. All were ordered at a medium spice level. The egg plant is so delicious, and it’s your choice of meat with it. The curry probably had a few pieces of carrots and potatoes. It was mostly chicken & could have definitely used some more veggies. The pad see ew was perfect. We each order a Thai iced coffee as well. I must warn that it’s highly caffeinated because we were up half the night after drinking it. It’s still a must try though. Definitely full of sugar. The service was decent. I would say it was over the top though. The waitress was busy waiting on many tables. She had a few runners helping with the food. The parking lot is small and requires payment. I’m not sure on the price since I’ve always been able to find street parking at a meter, which is free after 8pm.

You can’t go wrong with most of the Thai restaurants in the East Hollywood located in this«U» shaped plaza. Thai Patio is just a number of restaurants in Thai Town facing Hollywood Blvd. This restaurant is usually fairly busy and crammed. Dishes here are authentic Thai unlike so most things here are good. If you see Thai sausage or Thai beef jerky on the menu, you’ll know a Thai restaurant is authentic. We came here for dinner and ordered just a few things. The crab fried rice was decent. Not as good as Yai’s though. Pad see ew as up to par like most Thai restaurants in the area. The fresh ginger stir fried fish was good too. Service here was quick and friendly. The restaurant is very clean which is a plus considering the amount of hole in the wall restaurants in the vicinity.

We came here for a birthday and a going away dinner. They accommodated our large party and the food was good. The raw shrimp: that was spicy and super yummy. You gotta order this! I don’t know what it is, it could be the sauce or the shrimp itself, but it is divine. If you eat the raw shrimp in sushi, then you’ll love this. The pad Thai is pretty good. It taste just like the regular pad Thai that you would get at any restaurant, but this one had a little bit extra flavor to it. They didn’t have too much peanuts nor too much vegetables. The Tom Yum soup was spicy. Or I think we order the spicy one, we ordered two different types of soups and one was spicy. It has shrimp in it and the spiciness was amazing. It was not too salty nor too few of ingredients. Their thai coffee was pretty good. I like that he was strong. The only problem was that it was a little bit too sweet. Overall I will come back here again. The raw shrimp is a definite order.
