I finally tried this place with my girls and loved the Paloma punch bowl. I also had their brussel sprouts and the only burger on the dinner menu with blue cheese. Both were very tasty. I do wish the burger had some lettuce on it though or something else green. I’ll be back for sure.

Worst service ever, no attention to customers, both hovering around the POS unit crunching numbers and chitchatting instead of checking on the diners! Had to raise my voice to get their attention many time for water. Such a waste, nice place with bad service. My mother got the white fish, it came smelling like BAD fish, we sent it back with no apologies or recommendation, they just deduct it from the bill. I could cross the street to the grove and have the best meal in 10 different locations. Waitresses if you don’t like the job, find something else, we work hard in our life so on a Friday we would to enjoy a nice meal and service! I am a great tipper but tonight you lost me. Thank you Cons Bad bad bad service Slow service Not too many choices in menu Food salty Salad welted Burger medium but raw in the middle Pros: cute location Outdoor patios Nice atmosphere

Been coming here for years, and unfortunately today was the last. Service has never been great at Tart, but the food was always good. Today proved that no matter how good the food, it doesn’t make up for the lack of a quality staff. Started out with a snobby hostess, who when we asked for change for $ 1 for the meter gave us martyr-like explanations as to why it would be so difficult for her and tried to make us feel bad about not using our credit card for it. She spent the rest of our time there expertly rolling her eyes, dancing around with menus(once almost hitting us with them) and singing out loud to the music. There was minor construction going on inside including the repair of a wall and painting, so you’d think they’d request customers to sit outside to avoid the fumes and noise(but of course, they did not). Other than us, there was no one else inside and only a few people outside, which leads into the worst part of the experience — the wait. Our waitress was perfectly friendly, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough to counteract the insanely long wait for food. We ordered two brunch entrees and waited 30+ minutes from the point that we ordered to the point at which we gave up and left(cue eye roll from the hostess). The last straw was when we saw the entrees for other tables going out who were seated after us. Honestly, just an apology for the delay or even a small snack on the house while we waited(and waited and waited) would have made all the difference, and we probably would not have left, but I don’t think the staff at Tart have the restaurant or customer service experience to know how to deal with these types of situations properly and professionally. The way we were made to feel by the hostess was awful, though of course she wouldn’t know she was dealing with two diners who have a combined 20+ years in hospitality(one of whom is an executive chef in LA). We know bad service when we see it, and if I were the owner, I’d take a hard look at who I’m allowing to run my restaurant, both in the front and back of house.

I drive by Tart everyday and can’t believe I have never been in! I work across the street at The Grove and I came over last night with some co-workers for dinner and drinks. Let me just start by saying, the staff is absolutely wonderful. The gentleman who greeted us knew exactly who we were when we checked in and he escorted us to a private cabana on the patio. The patio was LOVELY with succulents, string lights and the cabanas were super clean and nice. Our servers and the management were super attentive and took great care of us and truly made our night a 5-star experience. We ordered a georgia peach punch bowl(half bowl is $ 45, which is great to split between 4 – 5 people) and I ordered the happy hour fries and hushpuppies to start(both are $ 5 on HH). I loved the maple syrup dipping sauce for the hushpuppies. For my entrée I opted for the Tart burger, with no bleu cheese, sub cheddar and it was so good. I was so pleased with the overall dining experience, atmosphere, drinks and food and cannot wait to return to Tart. It is a hidden gem on Fairfax!

Went here for breakfast with a group of friends. When we walk in the host starts giving us guff about not having a reservation. Really? Reservation for breakfast at an empty restaurant? Eventually he gives us a table as long as we promise not to stay too long. After we order the host comes back and lectures us that their policy is that a group of over 8 people have to order from a special menu that is $ 30 per person. He said he was going to let it slide this time, but next time we will have to abide by the policy. Well good thing there won’t be a next time. The service was good. Even though they forgot my coffee. So one star for the service. My $ 15 pork belly hash was flavorless and overcooked. By the time we left the restaurant was still empty. So I don’t know why a reservation was necessary in the first place.

And the award for cutest restaurant ever goes to… TART! Cute patio area with comfy couches? – CHECK! Photos by the pool, with the rubber duckies and the pink/green [LIVE] flower wall?– Don’t mind if we DO! I digress. I visited LA and reserved a table at TART for«Girl Brunch!» We had everything. Chicken and Waffles, Benedict, all the top brunch sellers! We even tried a Georgia Peach punchbowl because our server said we should! Loved it ALL! Glad we did! Great service, great food, cute atmosphere… What’s not to love? #LA_MUST

Today was my first time visiting Tart after multiple friends recommended it. I had the French Toast with berries and my friends ordered the Breakfast Burrito and the Chicken and Waffles. The food as actually really good, but the poor service is why it gets two stars. Our waitress was really rude and snippy with us, and seemed uninterested in explaining any menu items to us. And didn’t care to check up on our table after she took the order. She basically disappeared. When we finally did catch her, we asked her to take a picture for our table, as well as bring us additional silverware and a sharing plate. She said ok and never came back! She sent the hostess over to take the photo for us, so I know she heard us. But no one brought us a share plate and ignored our multiple attempts to get someone over for help. It was just too much, and as a fellow server I expect the service I’d give. And it was subpar. We ended up just tipping the bus boy cause he’s the only one who actually gave a fuck about our table. Won’t be back! Not worth the hassle, even if the food was good.

One of my all-time favorite brunch places! Cute, trendy space, good food, and punch bowls! I’ve been here twice so far. My most recent visit was on Easter Sunday. My group of 4 tried to make reservations but they said they were completely booked, but that we can still try to walk in. We went super early around 9am, cause let’s be real, unless you’re at church, who wakes up this early? Guess what. No wait! :) Both times, we were seated in the outdoor patio area, which is my preference. You can see the hotel pool next door, where I heard that if you jump in with all your clothes on, you get 50% off your dish! Haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure it’ll happen one day. We ordered the half size punch bowl with vodka, champagne, and OJ. This filled about 10 – 12 mason jars. Perfect to get a good buzz and not be a sloppy drunk! For food, I got the pork belly hash with sunny side up eggs. The large chunks of pork belly were super fatty, but I ain’t complaining. We always walk across to The Grove to sober up afterwards cause they have grass where you can lie down. I’d say, Sundays well spent!

This review is for my second time here at Tart. I returned to this location because my first time at this place was great. My second time was just very average… While the pork belly hash was great I would of loved to see a bit more pork belly and less potatoes and other sides occupying my plate. The whole family punch bowl was perfect to share with 3 people however the design of their ladle & cup can totally improve. There’s no way of scooping up the drink into the cup without spilling everywhere. An extra towel or napkin would be nice to be offered with it. We asked for one but the server took it away from us after each time. I guess less clutter but it was a hassle to keep asking everyone we refilled our drinks. Also the online rsvp doesn’t work. I called to make a reservation and was told no more available tables and that walk ins wasn’t allowed. When I called again that morning to see if anyone had cancel their reservation they said I can be seated right away if I came. So I did(I was 20 mins away) and got seated right away at 9am. My waiter last time named Jessica was great. Didn’t see her here this time. My second time service actually accidentally when giving me a menu knock over a bottle of hot sauce into my lap. She wasn’t aware of it and just walked off… Service and food was very average. If you get a choice, I recommend you requesting outdoor seating. It’s a nice little cozy area great for a weekend session.

Very cool spot, there’s seating inside and outside is a quad style patio. I ordered the chicken and waffle the chicken was lightly breaded but crispy and not over seasoned. The waffle was filling and complemented very well. During brunch there are bottomless mimosas and mixed drinks that are served in half sized and full sized bowls. Theh half size bowl filled about 11 mason jars of drinks!

Tart… not too sweet but definitely not sour. Do you want to get wet? And if you’re willing to get wet, how much money is it worth? If you’re willing to jump in the pool with all of your clothes on, they will give you 50% off on your meal! It does not include alcohol or anybody else’s meal at the table so make sure to push your friend in or come drunk! This pool party action only takes place at brunch time so don’t bother trying to come for a night swim. The first time I came was for dinner so I knew I would have to come back for brunch. I was dying to try some of their buttermilk biscuits and was bummed you could only order them for breakfast. Tart is a trendy, and hip little restaurant right across from the grove. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, with an adorable patio area that is connected to a Farmer’s Daughters hotel. You can sit in the eating area or just hang out on the patio seating for drinks. I definitely recommend sitting in the patio area, it’s worth the wait. This place is always packed so make sure to make reservations, especially for brunch. When we came for dinner we snagged a table the minute someone left. We had reservations but if you get seating outside your lucky, its first come, first serve! For dinner I arrived at Tart with an appetite of a beast. My party that I was meeting for dinner was not there yet so I decided to order hush puppies while I was waiting. I was thankful they came out fast, so I didn’t die of hunger. The hush puppies were hot, crispy, but still doughy on the inside. They came with maple syrup dip that was so good… need I say more. It was kind of like I started with dessert for my appetizer! When my party arrived we quickly put in our orders. I wanted a little bit of everything so I ordered the Butternut Squash Sorghum which was roasted butternut squash, fried sage, sprinkled with sorghum and parmesan cheese. I also ordered the crispy fried brussels sprouts that had chili vinaigrette, lime crème and a sunny-side egg, mac & cheese and corn bread muffins. All of the dishes were good but the corn bread was my favorite. The muffins were so hot, moist, and they just melted in my mouth. They are served with whipped butter that was nice and creamy. During our dinner I think our waiter forgot to put our order in because it took a very long time for our food to come out. Our waiter apologized and made it up by bringing 3 free desserts for the table. He gave us a: Coolhaus Ice Cream Sandwich which was snickerdoodle and choclate chip cookies with salted choclate ice cream in between. A chocolate Banana Bread Pudding that came with nutella, banana brulee and marshmallow ice cream. Last but not least, a Crème Fraiche Panna Cotta which with strawberry tartare, mint, and shortbread. They all tasted good but the bread pudding was my favorite. My second time I came here I finally made it for brunch. Believe it or not, I was ready to jump in the pool to get free food. It used to be that you got 100% of your meal free when you jumped in the pool but I guess too many people were jumping in the pool so they changed it to half off your meal. I heard they have unlimited mimosas for $ 18.99 at brunch which is why I imagine they stay so busy but I was most interested in the food. I got a short stack of pancakes, buttermilk biscuits, and a breakfast burrito. The Basket of Biscuits had quinos, farro, dried fruit, pecans, and maple syrup in inside. However they were a little hard, not fluffy and didn’t come out very warm, unfortunately they weren’t as good as I imagined. The Short stack came out hot, fluffy and tasted like perfect pancakes. They were served with warm maple syrup and butter. I also ordered German Pancakes which are served with lemon, maple syrup and powdered sugar. They tasted more like a crêpe than a pancake and were lacking sweetness. It was kind of weird because I thought it would taste much different. If your not into sweets you would probably enjoy the German pancakes. Lastly I ordered a Breakfast Burrito which came with scrambled eggs(I did egg whites) with chorizo,(I did turkey sausage) white cheddar and home fries wrapped in a flour tortilla with salsa verde and lime cream. This was really good and I was really happy that they did the substitutions without any problems. My friend ordered the Crispy Pork Belly Hash that came with caramelized onion, red bell pepper, home fries, tobasco and two eggs any style and the Chicken and waffles. Our other friend ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs, country gravy and arugula salad with bacon coffee vinaigrette. They both enjoyed their food. Overall Tart is a fun place, with great food, great ambiance, and if your brave, a great place to cool off on a hot day!

When a few of us were planning to meet up for breakfast, Tart was mentioned and something about jumping in the pool caught my attention. What? We jump in the pool with our clothes on? Questions and curiosity abounded after this. Yes, if you jump in the pool with your clothes on, Tart will discount your meal by 50%!! Whoa, what a deal! So we met up and thank goodness that one of us had called in to make a reservation the day before because when I got there, I asked for a table and was told the waiting list was 7 people deep and so it would be about 2 hours. I was truly bummed because I was looking forward to taking a dip in the pool after breakfast. Fortunately, the hostess remembered speaking to one of our party and so we were seated within 10 minutes, score! The place is cute, with indoor seating as well as outdoor. I prefer the outdoor because the ambiance is really chill. It’s next to the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel and so you can park in their lot for $ 6 with validation from the restaurant. They have a lot of great items on the menu and I wanted to try everything. But that’s what’s great about going with other Unilocalers because we can order a bunch of stuff and try each other’s plates. At least, that’s how we roll ;) I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the Pork Belly Hash and Eggs. We also had an order of the biscuits for starters. The biscuits were alright, just not as fluffy as normal biscuits. They were a little dense and hard so I wasn’t all that thrilled(3⁄5) The Chicken and Waffles were delicious! The chicken was coated with a nice batter and deep fried to a nice light brown. It was tasty with the waffles which were pretty good too(4⁄5) The Pork Belly Hash and Eggs were decent. It was just lacking a skosh in the flavor zone. In fact, the consensus at our table was to request a salt and pepper shaker. That was a little disappointing because it sounded and looked really appetizing. Although the pork belly was nice and meaty so that you didn’t just get skin but had some good flesh too.(3.5÷5) I also had a bite of the Chicken Breakfast Burrito and a bit of the pancake. I’d give the CBB a 4⁄5 because I liked the flavor. The pancake also gets a 4⁄5 being nice and fluffy. We had initially ordered the German pancakes but sent it back because it was somewhat bland. Our server asked if we wanted extra powdered sugar or something, but my friend was not having any of that and just replaced it with the order of pancakes. I don’t know how German pancakes are supposed to taste but I did sample a piece and it had the similar consistency of a crêpe, it had potential, just not for this setting. Oh well… After we finished eating, our server asked us if we were going to jump in the pool because then he would prepare our bill. We responded with a enthusiastic«you betcha»! The water was really nice and warm and I thought there would be a line of people waiting their turn to dive in but it turns out we were the only crazy ones. My friend and I had a blast jumping in and the, jumping in again so that our dedicated photographer could capture the right shot. I could have swam for longer but perhaps next time. It was a blast to come here. I’d recommend that you call in advance to make a reservation especially if you are going on the weekend otherwise, you’ll end up waiting a few hours. This was a great time with friends and socializing over food! I’d definitely like to come back again sometime in the future if I can find some crazies to jump in the pool with, haha!

It’s one of those cute as a button places. Small inside cute as can be, and an adorable patio that you just want to squeeze someone’s cheeks. On the face! On the face! The dining part of the Fathers Daughter’s Hotel, located on Fairfax directly across from The Grove. Parking made easy by valet for $ 6(with validation). Next time, maybe: jump in the pool, fully clothed with shoes and all — 50% off your food! I went for a late brunch with buddy Antho, gf Sima, and new pals Dana and Jennifer. Reservations are greatly recommended, but we lucked out and we’re sat in 10 mins, yeah! Southern comfort foods aplenty with a fusion of all-sorts twist. Pancakes, waffles, fried chicken along with Pork Belly Hash & Eggs, and all kinds of delicious sounding items. Bring it! What did I order? I’ll tell ya! ===================== 1. Basket of Biscuits($ 10, 3.5 stars) — Good tasting ‘cuits, but they but they were so thin that they were crispy not fluffy(batter too watery). 2. Country Fried Steak($ 17, 2.5 stars) — Nicely presented with eggs and a small salad, but fried steak had more than a tinge of fish taste. 3. Fried Chicken & Waffles($ 14, 4.5 stars) — winner of the day. Boneless fried chicken with a great crust atop of a flavorful waffle with a strong vanilla taste… cooked to perfection. Next time: punch bowl. Overall ====== It’s a 3.5 star. Good for a date or a small group of friends. Service, great by a nice fellow, Cameron. Food, just okay.

This Brunch spot is great for«Shitface Sundays» or so I was told by the barista as my friend and I sat down. [haha] We chose to sit at the bar because there was a long wait/reservation of people for tables(Which I’m sad about, because I like tables better) I can’t say much for the food, we didn’t have any because we ate before we hit this joint. But instead we decided to have the bottomless mimosas($ 18). The service was exceptional, and the baristas were quite funny. Every time we finished off our glass they would immediately fill up «anotha one». We never had to ask to get it refilled :) Parking is on the right side of the restaurant(its the hotel valet parking entry) don’t mind the signs, if you get your ticket validated from the restaurant it is only $ 6.

I recently made a visit here for the second time in a long time, and I was surprised at how much has changed. Tart is located next to the Grove, and it is a very cute little restaurant, preferably good for brunch /lunch. My first visit here was about a year or two ago. My friend and I came here for brunch on a Sunday and got the bottomless mimosas. The restaurant was very empty, the food was mediocre, and the mimosas did not taste fresh. However, they have improved tremendously over the last year. I gave this place another try about a week ago. My visit was on a Saturday lunch time. The restaurant was packed with people, and their interior/furniture was upgraded! The outside seating area was so cute and was such a treat to my eyes! They advised that we had to wait about 30 mins. While we were waiting outside by the fire pit, they actually asked us if we just wanted to dine right there! uhm, yes ofcourse! We sat around a fire pit(which was closed so it can be used as a table). We ordered the bottomless mimosas which was fresh and strong in alcohol haha. The mimosas definitely never saw the bottom. They were really good at refilling it. Bottomless mimosas end at 4pm. The service was excellent. For the food, I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was really yummy, and it was alot of food. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to sit with bottomless mimosas and chat/hang out for a while. A really bright and cute/trendy place for lunch. Don’t come here for the food. Come here for the ambiance.

By the time you read this I think the whole PATTI pie phase may be over. But let me bring it back *insert Patti song of choice* Because this Punch Bowl might be as good as that darn PATTI pie. I’m proposing a Patti Peach Punch Bowl! I started there because yes Tart was delicious, super cute, and trendy. But thank gawdddd for that PATTIPUNCHBOWL! It made my friend and I experience 100 times better. For just $ 35 bucks you get a half Punch bowl. Between us both I think we must have had 4 mason jar mugs a piece. Btw… I’m a sucker for any restaurants that serve you mason jars for anything. Especially with handles!!! #ijs So, yes we are making Fridays at Tart a thing now. The Food. Ok let me be honest and say that it wasn’t the absolute best mouth watering shrimp and grits I’ve had but it stands up. The broth has a lovely seafood taste(think muscles broth) the grits are kind of separated but with okra, okra, okra, okra, omg I love Okra! And what ever else that was tossed in made this dish pretty damn delish.(See the menu in my pics) Now… Now my friends waffle and chicken looked like it was made to perfection. The chicken looked as if it was seasoned perfect and the waffle was the perfect color. Crisp on the outside soft on the inside. She ate all of it. Speaking of — the portions are not M N M portions so don’t expect to get a big grandma plate. Although they so serve in mason jars #imjusysayingagain. The portions are just right. I left feeling good not over stuffed and not under stuffed. I left knowing that I would eat again later. Sidenote: I left my keys there and they held them for me till the next day because I had to call an Über.(PATTYPEACHBOWL) Another Side Note– we met some other patrons who were just lovely people. We’re actually going to there house Wednesday for Thanksgiving. Thanks Tart;) Last, their was a taping of some Australian reality show. It wasn’t irritating but they did politely ask us to leave. when we were standing up saying our goodbyes«hey guys were loosing light» meaning getcho @$$es out the shot. But hey that’s LA… It was all part of the experience. We laughed about it. Just an FYI to you anti LA spot people who still live in LA. #imjusysayingforthelasttime. All and all go check out TART on a off day and enjoy. PATTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ! *clears throat*

My best friend and I came in here on a Sunday for a girls day brunch. There was a bit of a wait for a table but we got settled on nice bench outside on the back patio while we waited. Natasha came by and asked if we wanted some drinks, my friend and I were going to do bottomless mimosas and bloody marys, but we ended up going with a punch bowl! The Gin and Peach one to be exact! It was HUGE! We should have known by the menu stating it is good for 4 – 6 people! Natasha was so helpful, very sweet and genuine. She took great care of us the entire time we were there. We ended up getting a table inside and ordered food. I got the chili and she got the egg breakfast. I was a little dissapointed in my food, the chili needed some kick and the portion size was tiiiiinnnyy, also the tortilla chips were not necessary, I would have preferred some bread instead. My friends breakfast was a typical breakfast plate, the only thing was that it was $ 12! Overall the drinks were fantastic and WELL worth the money, however, the food, not so much. We will be back.

I had breakfast at Tart and it was fantastic. I had their chicken waffle that was suggested by our waiter and it was great. Love my French Pressed Coffee and my cute little French/British style cup to go with it. They do get busy for brunch during the weekends so I’d recommend phoning ahead for a reservation. Tart is located right next to the Farmer’s Daughter’s Hotel, and only a block away from The Grove. If you are looking for a nice comfy brunch with a country style with urban LA vibe, come to Tart! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

We really had to wait too long for our food. I came with a group of six and the length of time we had to wait was quite ridiculous. Nothing stood out to me that caught my eye or tastebuds, the food I thought was about average. My beverage though was delicious and I sipped every last drop of that(it might have been called«Southern Peach Tree» not sure). There was outdoor seating which was nice. It was still secluded and private but with the benefits of sitting outside. I enjoyed the décor and the ambiance of the restaurant, the music was mellow enough it wasn’t a distraction and the customer service was friendly and sincere however everything was delayed too long, even for the waters to be brought. You can attempt to find street parking or you can choose the less stressful route and use their valet. It’s located on a somewhat busy street so I recommend making the sacrifice and pay for it. It’s a place I’m glad I experienced, however I’ll probably wont jump up and down again to go visit a second time.
