Recently I was lucky enough to attend a private party at Taqueria Llamas. Our food was fresh, colorful, loaded with exploding flavors, and beautifully served. From the scallop ceviche with fresh mint to the gorgeous crepes with black pepper ice cream, we literally waited with bated breath. The absolute stand out, not to be missed, most memorable dish we ate included the mole sauce!!!

Whether you’ve just sweated your ass off at the Mayan or Belasco — nothing beats a late-night food craving of Mexican food! Luckily, you do not have to travel far, simply j-walk across the street from the nightclubs and you’re there. The tacos were great but then again, I had been previously standing for five hours to see Julieta Venegas perform but nevertheless, still enjoyable. The condiments bar can use a pick-me-up but I’m not fretting due to their high-traffic volume during late-night peak hours. All in all, if you’re hankering for some meat after«bump’n ‘n’ grind’n» in the dance floor, look no further. Just don’t sit on the sidewalk because some of the world’s biggest cockroaches will come near you!

Grabbed a quick taco from this place. Tiny little shack across the street from the Mayan. Place was blaring music so loud, I was shouting my order to the guy. The taco was what I wanted and expected, 2 corn tortilla’s, chicken, cilantro, onions, and some salsa from the salsa bar. Cost was $ 1.25. Good for a quick bite.

I really hope this place becomes famous for the single dish that I bought here. So wrong and SORIGHT at the same time. I ordered the hot Cheeto’s with cheese. I was a little taken when they opened a single sized bag of hot Cheetos and poured the nacho cheese right inside. Then stuck a fork in it an charged me a few bucks. It is not healthy but it tasted so good. I can see this place being a guilty pleasure for anyone.

Taqueria Llamas is alright, nothing great, nothing terrible. You get cheap tacos on soft corn tortillas. They have a salsa bar with cilantro, onions, a red and green salsa, and radishes and cucumbers marinated in a slightly spicy green sauce. Very tasty cucumbers and the tacos were good. Its right across the street from the Mayan Theatre and the only place around there to eat. They don’t have a soda bar, so they sell canned sodas. A tiny place next to a parking lot they charge you to park there. CASHONLY.

If you want pastor that doesn’t taste like an old leather shoe that someone tossed in a pot of grease, then don’t come here. Go to King Taco or even Danny’s for crying out loud. TERRIBLE

If you are running late to catch a show at the Mayan, then this is the spot to hit. No point in waiting until after the club for street meat when a fully loaded burrito will cost you less. I ordered the al pastor burrito con todo plus cheese. It came jammed pack with tasty al pastor, fresh beans, rice, cilantro, onions and a spicy green salsa. I totally inhaled this monster. I didn’t even have time to visit the fully stocked salsa bar that was loaded with many fresh salsas and other condiments. This place is small and it gets crowded while ordering. Only two folding tables outside which were occupied so we used the little newstand. Worked as a perfect table for two. Service was friendly and the bill was CHEAP! Two gigantic al pastor burritos with cheese added, a coke and small horchata…$ 12.20 :)
