I usually order burritos from here the meat is very tasty. My favorite meat choices are: lengua, cabeza and azada. The al pastor burritos and tortas are extremy greasy! I always order takeout but make sure you ask them to repeat your order because they make many mistakes when taking orders over the phone. Like I said food is good but service stinks! They are extremely greedy with their ”salsas”. On one occasion I ordered 8 burritos and they only gave me three salsas when I asked for more they gave them to me but with a bad attitude. The only reason I continue buying from this place is because they are right around the corner.

Good homestyle mexican food. Favorite tough choice but if im hungry id grab the carne asada nachos made with chips that they make, guacamole, beans and sour cream. A good treat.

Home style food. Caldos are the best. Fresh squeezed juices, and pan dulce available at the bakery.

The food is good, but it isn’t the most clean believe me. The owner doesn’t care. If it wasn’t close to my house I wouldn’t eat there.

I’d give the food 3.5 to 4, but the prices is fair and they are open until 10, so, at 10pm they are the 5-er. Simple, non-fancy restaurant with table service and prices comparable to fast food, but much better food. They have a good birria. So-so shrimp coctail, but still a good deal. Pastor is good. I could eat here daily if I were closer.

Good birria, good menudo, good caldo de pollo and caldo de res. I love their rice and beans. Tacos are 3 stars. I like their salsas too. This is a very legit Mexican restaurant. This is how you would be served if you were in Mexico. Its not a 3 michelin star restaurant. Its not the cleanest, you probably shouldn’t eat off the table or floors. But its cheap and the food is decent.

Great Birria and Menudo. I ate tacos here before and the were great as well. Not fancy at all, but the food speaks for it self. I highly recommend eating here. Very nice and friendly staff.

This place is a cool hole in the wall if you dont know what authentic mexican food is. I can make better mexican food at home and dont really enjoy cooking Mexican. Dislike that they allow random people to sit at the same table where you’re seated. This isnt Mexico. I like to sit woth my family not with complete strangers. Food is okay. seating sucks. Had the chliaquiles(red) and they had no flavor. At least the Horchata was alright.

If you like jalapeño chiles you’re out of luck here. When I asked for them the waitress informed me they stopped serving them last year. How much could this restaurant spend on pickled jalapenos a year? Not much, certainly not worth short changing loyal customers. I asked the owner if he would start serving Coca Cola Zero. It’s the only soda I drink. I told him I was probably his best customer, I’ve been eating there thirty years, and I always bring new customers with me. It didn’t impress him in the least, he told me «drink Diet Coke!» He has absolutely no customer appreciation. Doesn’t invest one cent back into the business. Several times they’ve told they’re out of guacamole. How hard is it to go next door to the supermarket and buy some more avocados?

Okay. I seriously despise this place. First off! I onced wanted to order Chorizo con huevo. They said they dont have eggs even though they are right infront of a market. Secondly, my mom ordered chicken soup. The chicken was under cooked. That day my mom had to go to the hospital because she was not feeling good. Of course she didnt eat the chicken, but just the fact that it was under cooked was really gross and made her sick. Their idea of good mexican food is not what they think it is, but thats just my opinion. All of my friends and family no longer eat at this place. And its not because we told them not to its because they seriously suck. I dont even want to put one star on this review but i have to because of Unilocal. If you really want good mexican food go to «La Chispa De Oro» passing soto st. Near walgreens in Ceasar E.Chavez.

I came all the way from Pasadena twice and both times I’ve ran into someone I know from Pasadena everything is amazing me and my other half went in and we ate like kings plus took home food for dinner and took my father in law pozole and it was less then $ 50 bucks they have burrito’s for $ 3.50 this place is amazing!!! I would give this place 20 stars if I could

Had the birria which was raved about in these reviews and it had to be the most disgusting thing I’ve had in a while. It was served lukewarm and had tons of fat and bones, even the broth on top was turning into solid fat during my meal. The only thing that was good were the home-made corn tortillas. Oh, and no A/C but they did have ceiling fans that kept blowing my napkins and straw trash off the table.

Had the Chili Verde(again) and it was perfect. Big portion of tender crispy pork chunks with delicious green sauce. Sides were also on point(rice and beans). The little iceberg lettuce salad seems unnecessary but whatever. The corn tortillas were also good, which I mention only because, while it’s not hard to make *a* corn tortilla, it’s hard to make a really good one. They do it right. Cheap as hell too. Victor V.(some other reviewer), you mention stopping by «to eat late night» and… I’m dumbfounded. This place closes at like 9 pm. Are they open later somewhere else or… what??? :P

(3.5-Stars) Chances are good you won’t find any close parking but theirs always Superior just don’t let the Security see you park and leave the lot! They have a nice menu selection, food that looks like your Abuela made hand made corn tortillas and all! The wife ordered Birria de Chivo which can be ordered by the Bowl with caldo or on a plate with rice and beans, I/we prefer getting the caldo over rice and beans, I ordered a small bowl of Pozole and a couple tacos. Birria de Chivo — *(For you Gabachos that’s Goat) and man was it good! pretty lean, just a little fat and a few bones, the caldo/consommé/broth was clean and very flavorful! nice big chunks of meat. 4.5-Stars Pozole — I hate Rabanos so after picking them out and tasting the pozole the caldo was bland and needed some serious help! that’s where some good salsa roja comes to the rescue… nice big chunks of pork as served I’d give this 2-Stars but with the added salsa 3.5-Stars Tacos — Hand Made Tortillas Carne Asada — Nicely grilled lean meat with good flavor. 4-Stars Al Pastor — Flavor was OK and a few of the pieces were a bit dry! 3-Stars Carnitas — Also slightly dry but still had good flavor. 3-Stars The BIRRIA de CHIVO was delicious, the rest was just OK
