After a couple months of walking past this place and admiring the décor, my husband and I finally stopped in and were so glad we did! The space is beautiful, the food is beautiful and the service excellent. Our server Robert was very friendly, attentive, and described the dishes in detail with solid recommendations. We’ve eaten dinner here twice now and I would highly recommend the roasted corn appetizer, the odd sounding but delicious kale agua fresca, the cochinita pibil, the sea bass and the mole. Cochinita pibil is one of my favorite dishes and this is the best version I’ve had in LA. Mole is one of my husband’s favorites, and he was similarly impressed. The food is creative, delicious, very well conceived and executed. I do wish they had a liquor license, but will go back regardless for the food, service and atmosphere. While not inexpensive, the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food and overall experience.

We had a truly wonderful experience here during Night on Broadway. The staff was warm and friendly and the food was amazing. We ordered the Cochinita Pibil and fresh guacamole. Both were fantastic and leaned more towards savory than spicy. The toasted seeds and nuts on top of chips that came with the guacamole was especially a nice touch. They do brunch on the weekends and have an extensive wine list as well as wine cocktails. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is the lack of full bar. Once Tabachines expand their liquor license to include margaritas and mescal this place will be my favorite Mexican spot in DTLA.

This is one of my new favorite hotspots in DTLA. The food is always on point and the service professional. I crave their grilled shrimp tostadas when I’m not there :) Thanks to the team last night for another great dinner experience.

Absolutely amazing. My friend and I strolled passed this place over the weekend and was immediately captured by how cute it looked. The décor is modern and clean with patio seating. We went inside and was told that the kitchen is actually closing in five minutes but the manager went inside to check and said they’ll be more than happy to serve us. From that point on, service was nothing but amazing! None of the servers seemed rushed or frustrated. The food was fantastic. Definitely a great place for Mexican-inspired brunch!

We just enjoyed a very lovely Saturday brunch here. The atmosphere and décor are most pleasant. The service is attentive and friendly. The prices are quite reasonable. Most importantly, the food is fresh, creative, flavorful, and delicious! We can particularly recommend the Jamburguesa, the Benitos Huevos, and the Tamarindo Citricos cocktail! We are very eager to try more of their menu and will definitely be back!!!

Not a wide menu, but the few items they have on their are super good. Went for brunch, & the drinks & food were delicious. A little pricey but worth it, the food wasn’t heavy or greasy like some Mexican food can be. The bartender was also really nice, definitely would go back.

Last night we went to the restaurant for dinner and we were beyond impressed. The food was yummy!!! The ceviche was incredible then we had the slow roasted pork. Wow!!! It’s was the best! I was very happy with the server as well, she was smart and kind. This is a must visit location in #DTLA and possibly the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

Omg MINDBLOWN! This was the best mole we’ve ever had(and we have mole everywhere)! Such dynamic flavor that resists being muddled down by sugar. Jamburges — excellent ! Shrimp tostada app — excellent(again, the sauce creations are to die for). To add to the extreme oral pleasure, the service was wonderful ! Our server and everyone we encountered was pleasant and extremely knowledgable about the ingredients and preparation. We even met one of the owners who graciously shared the story of the restaurant. She is a kind and dedicated woman ! They told us the are launching brunch soon too. We will DEFINITELY be back… multiple times ! PS super reasonably priced especially for the quality of food and service.

For appetizers, we ordered the green ceviche and guacamole– both classic dishes were done just right-kicked up from your run of the mill Mexican restaurant but not over-thought. Our entrees included the vegan and chicken pozole and carne asada. The generous portions of soup take you right to your happy place and the carne asada was full of flavor. Finished off dinner with some Mexican hot chocolate and arroz con leche. Make sure to leave room for dessert because these did not disappoint. Overall, ambiance and service were great, but it’s the amazing food that will keep us coming back for more.

Do yourself a favor. Eat here soon before too many people discover it. The food by Chef Patricia is authentic, fresh, healthy, tasty… Omg. Everything we had was sooooo good. We went over the top with desserts including the Mexican Hot Chocolate. The staff is wonderful too! Mahalo nui loa!!!

The food had a very good fresh taste! But beans in my main dish were very under cooked and hard. The greens ceviche it was really good! The Sevice was spotty!

Excellent wine cocktails, hand crafted by Bobbie our waiter for the evening. We ordered guacamole and ceviche as appetizers, both were wonderful, and combined were actually enough to fill us, large portions! By the time the entrees arrived we were overwhelmed. But, both the sea bass and the chicken mole were wonderful. All was made even better by the excellent ministrations of Bobbie.

I had an overall good experience here. Great attentive staff and a nice varied menu made it worth the visit. I ordered the guac, chicken mole, and arroz con leche(that is rice pudding if you can’t comprende). My favorite thing here was actually the guacamole. Perhaps a bit on the average side if served on its own, but what made it sparkle was the toasted sesame/pumpkin seeds and dried chile on top. For now on, this is how I’m making mine! The mole was good, though I’ve made better(that’s right) and the rice pudding was tasty but I would have preferred it cold(I guess hot is traditional). Prices here are mid-range, so if you’re expecting typical Mexican restaurant pricing, plan on paying more.

I went about a week ago, I took my boyfriend there for date night. I was really excited about it, because he loves Mexican food and I am very particular about it. I only want to eat Mexican if it’s authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is very cute and has a nice décor. The service however, leaves much to be desired. They were short staffed it seemed and slow. I had allotted two hours for dinner figuring that would be more than enough time to eat and get to our show. However an hour in we had just barely had our apps and drinks. In the end we only had 1 of two entrees. We canceled the 2nd entrée to save time. The food was good. However, I would have liked a little more input on the ordering from the staff’s perspective. For example if you decide to go with the shrimp tostones which we did, I would say no need to order the guac too, because that’s a lot of guac! Get something else instead like cheviche. I also thought they should have offered us drinks while we were waiting which no one ever came around to do. All-in-all, I think the place was good, but I definitely think they are still getting the hang of it, and trying to work out the kinks.

I don’t usually write reviews but the food was so GOOD I am compelled to share my experience. My sister and I stopped by for dinner on Monday night. My personal favorite dish was the CEVICHE. It is a must try if you’re interested in a clean white fish dish with fresh ingredients and a spicy kick! All the dishes were fresh and delicious. Put simply, the food was expertly prepared but still had an unmistakably home made quality to it. Coupled with the warm customer service– I will definitely be back!

The best part about this place was that I came here on Halloween and Robin was sitting a few tables away from me so I felt safe. The customer service was great and the food was good. I ordered the«Cochina Calzones» which comes with a delicious side of rice and what I think was carnitas. I’m a sucker for meat seasoned with cilantro and spice so I digged the dish! The only thing I’m not used to, which I seem to notice in most Mexican gourmet restaurants is that they always add a side of plantains. Which in my personal taste doesn’t really compliment the dish. Either way I still enjoyed it! The Tofu Burger and the Tomato Soup were also good!

Mágnifico para cuando quieres algo mexicano pero ya no lo mismo. No te quito más tu tiempo, dime si hay algo que hayas comido y no te haya gustado. Mi favorito es el ceviche pero he comido casi todo. Ah! Deja espacio para el postre. OJO! Si no comes picante, pide asesoría porque si no… pagarás doble impuesto! jajajja!

High end Mexican cuisine isn’t easy to come by. Lucky, it has arrived in DTLA. Tabachines Cocina is a long awaited addition to Spring street, and serves up some of the best Mexican food I’ve had — especially in Downtown LA. We ordered the green ceviche — excellent The pork mole — fanstastic and the carne asada — amazing To top it off, the side of beans with corn, tomato and queso, were phenomenal. So good, I literally used my finger to sop up every last drop. The service was on point, the manager was friendly and attentive and the food was wonderful. Jump on this place before it gets so popular, you won’t be able to get a table.

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing!!! I was lucky enough to be a part of the soft open and we got to taste a lot of the menu. The place is absolutely gorgeous. The designer works with Robert Irvine on Restaurant Impossible. It’s super cool. Let’s talk drinks… Definitely try the wine cocktails. I’ve never had anything like it before. So much flavor and you would never think you’re drinking wine or alcohol at that. Now…the food! I promise you this is nothing like you’ve ate before. This food has flavor. This is not retried beans and rice this is REALFOOD. Food with culture. Beautifully plated and meticulously presented. This is how food was meant to be. As appetizers we sampled the the shrimp & guacamole app, the tostada tower(the layer of flavor is out of this world! Honestly) and the scallop ceviche. All winners. I’m glad we didn’t have to choose. For entrée I ordered the Jamburgesa(chorizo) and I just about lost it. It was A-Mazing! I can’t explain it but I highly recommend it. My wife ordered the shrimp pasta. That sauce was unlike anything I’ve tasted before. I also tried the Mole from a friends plate. The bananas were an amazing compliment that that dish as well. For desert I ordered the Arroz con Leche. It came with apples. My wife had the Marie Gordo(Cream and berries– it’s the best I can describe it). Both are winners. If you come in as a couple get one each. You can’t go wrong either way. We got to meet the executive Chef Patricia as well. She is incredible talented and down to earth. We were honored to be a part of this opening and can’t wait to return with friends and family soon! Happy eating.
