Star Bar

This place has been here for a while and is a place that locals roll in and out of. The bartenders are nice but the crowd shifts from non drama to drama on occasion because, the lack of security to calm people down and being located next to the Ramada Hotel. Michelle is a very cool server and I come by once and a while. The Star Bar has a younger 20 to 30 crowd compared to the other local bars and has little entertainment basically darts and juke box but has a outdoor patio. So if you want to check out the younger crowds go for it.

Most awesome bartender! Sweetest Girl! This is my go to bar down the street from my house. Prices are reasonable and she is a very heavy pourer, for all those that love cocktails. Michelle works Tues, Wed and Friday nights!

False advertisement. Everything in the description was missing. Especially the corn dogs. Hot bartenders may be the exception.

Star Bar is an odd place. It’s not like any hotel bar I’ve been to before.
Most weekends, there are a couple groups of thirty-​somethings on the outside seating area, casually having a few drinks, while some middle-​aged couples get drunk and throw darts in the overly-​lit, small inside bar area.

Would not recommend this place especially if you are person of color. Man called me the n word and told my friends to get me out of there. Bartender did nothing! First and last time there!

cool lil dive bar… friendly people…$ 10 pitchers

I’ve been to and have enjoyed plenty of dive bars but can’t do the Star Bar again. This place is tiny and the group that was there all seemed to know each other. At first I thought it was a cool vibe but a handful of the patrons went outside to smoke and they allowed them to keep the door open so, with the wind blowing all of their smoke inside they could have just smoked inside the bar. At least the rest of us wouldn’t have had to freeze in the process (it was a record cold day in CA).
On top of that the Barstools are old/​wobbly, beer glasses wet and warm and they don’t have food.
Wish I had better things to say about this place but we won’t be back.

Great atmosphere, awesome people, cheap drinks, all around great time. Come here with a group and have a blast. Came here with a few guys for happy hour and the bartender took care of all of us quickly with great attitude.

Michele is a fabulous human being, her drinks are strong, as are her musical choices. She makes a tank top look pretty damn good.
As for John, the security… If you are planning on acting a fool, I suggest you proceed to another establishment. The man carries a ¼ full can of bear spray. (Ask where the other ¾ths went).
Overall this place is awesome, super divey, good people, good times, $ 4 beers. Sold.

A very cool little bar that Daniel L. and I decided to check out after last nights YEE at Bourbon steak house in Glendale (and after we couldn’t find the bar that Katie B. had suggested the after party be moved to). Star seems a little off the beaten path when you think Glendale, but it’s in my neighborhood and we decided to give it a shot.
We arrived at 1 am and stayed until closing, at the time we were the only patrons, but it was a Tuesday night and as one of the workers (John) told us Tuesdays are their quiet nights (which is fine for us) and he suggested other nights to come check it out if we were looking for a more lively atmosphere.
They offer a Unilocal check in offer for $ 3 kamikaze shots (with no limit besides «be responsible») and stellas were $ 5. We found parking right outside, but it’s attached to the hotel, so I’m pretty sure they have a lot too.
Would totally go back.

Normally, my teetotaling ass would *never* be seen walking into a bar. But one night in the company of Zoie H., and all that «temperance» bullshit apparently went out the window.
If you’ve never been here before, it’s surprisingly easy to miss this place — it’s pretty much overshadowed by the neighboring hotel/​motel. We literally drove past the bar like 2 – 3 times until we were able to see it (crap, were our BAC levels really *that* high already!!!). Plenty of parking space was available on the curb out front.
Maybe it’s because we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves, but as far as bars go, I actually kind of liked this one.
As it was 1AM on a Tuesday night, there were only 3 people inside the bar when we walked in: the security officer, the bartender, and (judging from the PDA I witnessed) the bartender’s apparent squeeze.
My fears of having already hit «old age» were greatly assuaged when the nice security officer asked us for ID upon entry. As he was conspicuously armed with a massive MK-​9 canister, who the hell were we to argue? (Particularly as he did not attempt to give me the bar version of the freedom-​fondle, bless his soul.)
The music was not excessively loud, the restroom was nowhere as scary as I had assumed it would be, the bartender was pretty cool to deal with, and the drinks did not seem to be outrageously priced — then again, I’m not exactly a subject matter expert on what constitutes bargain pricing for booze (revisit «my teetotaling ass» in paragraph 1 of this review).
I played my first game (ever) of darts here with Zoie, and I discovered it’s INSANELY hard. And I learned firsthand that it’s even harder after your eye to hand co-​ordination is rendered worthless after a few drinks.
We were tactfully kicked out once the clock struck 2. My hat is off to the staff for so gently giving us the boot.
Your (nominally) non-​drinking reviewer had a surprisingly good time here, and he can potentially see himself giving this place a 5^th star after additional visits.

I love to play the game machine at star bar! Plus the drinks are strong and the crowd is polite. Tonight visit included Michele bartending and she was great. She interacts with the guests who wanna chat and leaves those (like me) to play the games or chat amongst friends but she is still attentive to drink refills. She was funny fun and makes a great drink!
Overall I like star bar!

Great place to grab a drink if you don’t want the music blasting in your ear and people crowding you at the bar. The bartender was amazing, she had a very heavy hand and made our drinks extra stiff. The only knock on this place is the middle aged gentleman who kept trying to create conversation with me and my girl even after numerous attempts from us to get away. Don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere was great, it was just the one guy (who I would assume comes here often just to talk to anyone who’d listen) that cut our visit short. Other than that 85 was a great first impression!

Whoa, was there last night, and had a blast at Monday Karaōke night!

Cheap beers and heavy pours.

Where do I begin? …
1) You can never go wrong with an incredibly beautiful red head pouring drinks behind the bar (Michele) … she is very friendly and has a welcoming smile.
2) two they do run a lot of drink specials
3) It’s a nice place to throw back a few with good company or if you have the guts show up and jump on stage and belt out your favorite toon!!!
4) If you don’t want to drive there is a hotel really close by!!!

The NEW Star Bar!!!
This place has changed a lot in the past six months or so. New chairs, new floor, new attitude!
The Star Bar is a local «Cheers». The bartenders are efficient and friendly (and cute :). «The customer is always right, but the bartender decides who is still a customer.» The drinks are as stiff as they come and the prices are as low as they come, you will NOT get a longer pour anywhere else! There is a patio that you can bring your drinks on and smoke, six dart boards, and cheap food.
I come here for the super fun KARAOKE!, stiff drinks, and chill atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and I always end up making new friends when I come here. This is a GREAT place to have a party because they will move tables for you, hold your cake or food, etc. and just all around try and make it a great experience for your party.
Pros: Stiff drinks, low prices, shot specials every night, dart boards, great service, friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Sometimes it’s too windy so you have to use the side door lol
