Went there last night a little after 9pm and the kitchen was close. Times of operations are until 11pm.

I swear if I can give 0 star I’ll definitely do it. The cook forgot to make my order, and when I asked the reception she said it’s not her business and didn’t even say sorry. Hope this place will be shut down soon.

One of my go to spots around campus when I am looking for a quick cheap meal. I tend to get the chicken katsu, for what you are paying for you get a decent size portion of chicken with salad, rice, and a cup of TLC miso soup.

Outstanding food and always fresh. I know the other soy and this one parted ways a couple years ago but this one is my favorite by far. The food is always fresh and the vegetables are amazing. I commend the staff there for always being really nice. Don’t expect a $ 30 per person meal here but do expect a great meal for relatively cheap.

I am always greeted and treated so kindly when I come to this restaurant! Howard, the owner, is especially kind! The entire staff is great and the food is good as well! Definitely a place that you would like to try right near USC!

I ordered Tempura Udon and Yakitori and was not impressed. Ordering the two with a side of drink cost me $ 15. I’m usually nice when it comes to evaluating restaurant and stuff, and in fact the people there were welcoming and the order came out fast. However I think they could do a better job with their udon and yakitori. The soup of their tempura udon was tasteless, just like boiled water. Even though the two shrimp tempura pieces were great, the udon itself was too bland and watery. As for the yakitori, which is skewered chicken, the chicken was hard as jerky. Perhaps they do a better job with their rolls… what I don’t quite understand is why their rolls are so pricey. For people who eat rice all the time(such as myself), rolls are nothing fancy. Just rolled rice with some stuff in it. Kim-bob. Now that USC is getting more and more rice-eating population, perhaps they need to rethink their pricing?

Never going back here again. I ordered the chicken veggie bowl for $ 6& it was horrible. Btw the guy who was taking my order– he was med height, dark haired– looked middle eastern or indian or something… well he was not customer service friendly– didn’t greet or anything or smile, was more concerned about watching the soccer game on the flat screen tv. Anyways, I ordered the chicken veggie bowl and took it back to work. I could barely down the thing. First of all the rice was old soggy mushy goopy as hell– like it was sitting out all day or something– hate mushy rice! & there was just too much wilted cabbage. The chicken was barely tolerable. I really wanted to return it but I didn’t want to deal w/the hassle. Who’s making this food back there? monkeys? How can they serve something so easy to make so horrible? So disappointed.

Their meat and vegetables are pre-portioned and packaged so you can’t customize your order. The meat is dry and vegetables wilted and old! I ordered a chicken and vegetable bowl for $ 6. Got home and it was chicken and white rice. The rice covered 90% of bowl and i don’t eat rice. A business with good customer service would apologize and correct the order. But these are just greedy, money hungry bastards who take advantage of college students. They insisted I pay a 50% charge to correct my order. In other words, in order to get what i paid $ 6 plus tax for, i have to now pay them $ 9 for what they should’ve given me in the first place! USC students beware this kind of attitude always manifests across the board(food prep, cleanlingness, sanitation, etc.) its never just isolated at the register. They think we have money to burn and are naïve because we attend USC.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We had the chicken bowl and #1 and #3 sushi rolls. I will definitely go again when visiting my son at USC. My son also really liked the food and I am sure will be a regular.

I decided to try this place since I’ve eaten at most spots in the area. I really enjoyed my food. First, I was starving and since my food came out fast. Not too bad for a busy Sunday night. I had the beef yaki soba noodles. Heaven in a box I tell ya. My food was warm and flavorful like no other noodles I’ve had before. Mixed with a bell peppers, carrots and more. The sushi selection looks great too. Might just have some next time. Free parking in a tiny lot. Free refills. Open till 10pm. Try this spot for awesome food.

This place fucking sucks. I’m sorry to be so crude about it but it’s the truth. I ordered the California roll and it was extremely bland even for a California roll. It was falling apart. Hardly edible. I also ordered the chicken bowl. It was about 7 bucks. I wasn’t expecting anything gigantic but when I saw the chicken plate they gave me I couldn’t believe how small the portion was. I literally got ripped off. There was maybe a handful of rice and about 5 finger sized pieces of chicken… FORSEVENDOLLARS! I’m never coming back here again. I’m so pissed at myself for spending my money on this shithole. Lol

To start. Horrible costumer service. It was 9:45pm and they were already mopping the floors with bleach. Not taking in consideration the customers eating at the tables. How fun is having dinner with the strong smell of bleach.. I ordered food, and they would only allow me to take my food to go.. Not so nice when you are hungry and live no where near the restaurant.. I ordered a drink and the machine was completely out ICE. Apparently, they did not care to fill with ice since the place was closing already.. And Last, the food was not good. The tuna not fresh, actually, I couldn’t even eat it. I understand sometimes people want to go home, and want to clock out, but treating customers this way is not good. I wish I would have been told they would not allow me to eat at the place, I would have not ordered food. The neighborhood is shady, not the type of place you want to eat in your car. Never again.

Came here and ordered a Washington roll and a Trojan roll. The Trojan roll was very good and maybe a little too spicy? But the Washington roll was very bland and I needed to use a lot of soy sauce to make up for that. The salads are both very good and refreshing to eat. If you’re looking for quick and inexpensive sushi this place is great. Unfortunately they do not serve hot water

Had the Spicy Chicken Breast Bowl and it was pretty good(healthier than the other outlets nearby and reasonably filling — in comparison I’d say much lighter than a 2 entrée at Panda Express). The leafy salad was fresh and nice and the chicken was pretty decent too. The rice and chicken could have been a little warmer though but overall I liked the food. The place is clean and the staff’s polite which is a huge plus point.

I was more than half way done with my salmon salad, and a big leaf bug crawls out underneath the salad!!! Just proves that the staff does not rise out the greens!

The customer service here is always great, the people are really nice and they always have a smile on their faces. The food is also pretty good actually. I always get the chicken katsu because it’s less expensive and it’s a great deal. It comes over a bed of white rice and delicious miso soup and salad. It fills me up every time! The sushi is good too. I’ve gotten the chirashi bowl before and it’s great. Definitely go try it and explore their menu.

I honestly don’t mind this joint. Coming here reminds me of my undergrad years where I was, more often than not, looking for relatively-cheap, filling eats within proximity of campus. As its name implies, this Soy establishment focuses on two things: grilled entrees and rolls. And it does it pretty well. I can also respect a business that doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. Sure it’s not real Japanese food, but one look at their menu and you can tell that authenticity isn’t what they’re trying to serve. Love that I can order my entrees without sauce. Before, they served their signature salad already dressed(which frankly was kind of gross), but now you can order their grilled meats with the teriyaki sauce on the side and the salad with the dressing on the side. And I can appreciate that the grilled chicken breast is all white meat. Yay! :) Notes: *Parking lot is shared with a bunch of other businesses such as Goodwill, Subway, Domino’s, Greek Escape etc. * Only white rice is available for those of you who like your brown rice(like me). * Salads are served with salad greens and large fresh slices of cucumber.
