Positive: Food was delicious! Highly recommend the Pad Tua(green beans). I don’t know what they put in there but these are the best green beans I’ve ever had. Also recommend he green papaya salad withri lord shrimp. Extremely spicy but oh so tasty. We had a party of 15 people so I got to taste multiple dishes. All the food I tried was delicious, better than most other Thai restaurants I’ve had, which are more or less subpar. The waiter was actually quite sociable and very friendly and entertaining, and they seemed very accommodating to any special food requests. See below for the disappointing part of this meal. Negative: With our party of 15, the service as EXTREMELYSLOWWWW. Do NOT, I repeat do NOT go with large groups to this restaurant. I can’t speak for how quickly their service would’ve been with a smaller group, but all I know is we waited 2.5 hours for our food to come out. Appetizers came out within the first 30 min but then we waited another 2 hours for the entrees. One of the slowest services I’ve ever experienced. I ordered the papaya salad which was actually pretty delicious except it was the LAST dish to came out. Seriously? A salad takes 2.5 hours? I also asked for no peanuts. Sure enough, there were peanuts in there so I had to send it back. They were very apologetic though, and gave me a free beer. But still. Overall: Great food, friendly staff, very slow service.

So many Thai restaurants to choose from, but this one stands out. Great food for a great price. In the past I’d ordered for delivery. The portions were very large. Tonight I stopped in for Tom Yum on a cold night. They totally enchanted me with the homey atmosphere and sweet staff.

The food is overall good and decent portioned though a little pricier than other Thai spots. The only downside is that whenever I ordered to pick up(and this is like on a random Tuesday afternoon), somehow I am waiting forever for my food. It’s happened to me twice and one time, I ordered via Eat 24 and they never even looked at the order so I ended up waiting for over half hour for take out that I ordered a half hour before that. Fact is this. There are so many great Thai restaurants in the area. We are so close to Thai town after all. Though the food is pretty good, I usually talk myself out of ordering from there due to the inconvenience I’ve dealt with twice with this place. They tend to focus their service on people who eat in so best of luck.

Ate there years ago and was good. Had Thai delivered home tonight for the first time in a long time, but very disappointed. The Calamari is all deep fried bread. I saw one piece that looked like a calamari, but really just all deep fried breaded stuff. I also ordered their Signature Pad Thai with shrimp. There was one shrimp. So when they say shrimp, they mean one.

Love this place! The employees are extremely friendly and very fashion forward. The entire restaurant is like a piece of art. Though the restaurant is small and probably not good for big parties, it is obvious that great care was put into the atmosphere. The red walls and décor make you feel like you’re in another country. Simply Thai has an amazing Happy Hour from 5 – 7 in which you can buy $ 5 appetizers and $ 5 wine. I recommend ordering the shrimp patte and curry pouches. They’re only $ 5! you might as well The food is affordable, tasty and unique. The simple pad thai is excellent. I recommend getting 2 appetizers, a papaya salad, pad thai and the coconut ice cream for dessert. The ice cream is extremely refreshing! Overall awesome restaurant for a family dinner or first date

Tips Located in a small shopping center, but has a private parking lot My family and I have both dined inside of the restaurant as well as ordered«to go». The flavors and food are WONDERFUL. They offer a menu that has a great variety and if you love spicy food this is the place for you! The portion sizes are not on the large size, so keep that in mind if you’re ordering family style. You may need to order more then expected if you have hearty appetites.

Great service. Homely décor. And the food is awesome. If you ask for extra spicy you’ll get something that is still full of flavor that brings the heat. Really recommend this quaint little spot in the heart of Los Feliz. Check it out for your next Thai experience.

I ordered chicken on a very hot day and it was very very undercooked; extremely pink all over; asked them to cook it more and they said no and complained to me that I was being unreasonable. I just did not want to get sick when I am paying $ 30 for dinner for 2 persons. they would not re-cook it until I complained again. then they attempted to cheat me on the final bill by overcharging me. this place is terrible; avoid it like the plague or ebola.

I had the Thai salad and the green curry beef, it was excellent! The lunch combo comes with a Spring roll, soup and the entrée :) Owners are sweet too.

Simply Thai has to be the closest Thai restaurant to my house. I’ve probably passed by it a thousand times – the giant S on the door has become part of my mental map of Los Feliz. It’s either a long walk or an embarrassingly short drive away, and now that I know it’s good, I’ll probably stop in once in a while for a quick Thai fix. I understand this place also delivers, so I’ll keep that in mind going forward, too. I came for a Friday lunch with a few friends, including Jim R., who is a Simply Thai regular. It was cute inside, with red walls, thick décor(tiny fountain, Buddhist statues), and a lot of natural light. There wasn’t much of a lunch crowd, which was fine by me. Service was good, prompt and friendly. I ordered a Thai iced tea right away, and this was great, sweet and milky and weirdly easy to drink with food, pretty much what I want whenever I get a Thai iced tea. Our lunch started with complimentary cups of vegetable soup. I always appreciate freebies and this was nice. The soup was pleasantly sour, with a viscous texture that was strange but not off-putting. We dined family style, ordering four dishes between the four of us. That worked out to a good meal without much in the way of leftovers. We started with the steamed Thai dumpling appetizer. These were good dumplings, shaped tall, thick, and round like big shumai, stuffed with juicy marinated shrimp and pork and served with a black vinegar dipping sauce. For the rest of our meal, we decided as a team on a curry, a rice, and a noodle. We went with the classic Panang curry with tofu and brown rice. This was a lovely, flavorful curry, and I really liked the big triangles of tofu – it must have been fried, because the texture was great. Linda’s fried rice was a standout, fully flavored and loaded with garlic chicken and Thai chicken sausage, both of which were pretty delightful. The Signature Pad Thai was also satisfying, the classic rice noodles topped with chicken, shrimp, bean sprout, onion, and crushed peanut. The main ding against Simply Thai is that it’s only a mile or two from Thai Town, home to some of the greatest Thai restaurants outside of Thailand. If this place were in a college town, or even the valley or the westside, I’m sure it would get a lot more love; it’s the kind of place I’d be thrilled to have as a default pretty much anywhere removed from this part of Los Angeles. As it is, I’m usually willing to drive the extra five minutes when I leave my house for Thai food. That said, I really liked Simply Thai, and am happy to have a place I can walk to for an easy Thai meal. It’s a solid option with great food and friendly atmosphere, and I expect I’ll take advantage of it now that it’s firmly on my radar.

Excellent surprise. We picked this place since it was close to the Greek Theater and we were heading there for a concert. We found street parking right away across the street. The décor was immediately inviting. They had happy hour from 5 – 7 with a good selection of appetizers and drinks. They also had a a great selection of vegetarian selections and substituting tofu an option on many of their dishes. We had the penang curry, tom yum fried rice and the Dark Soy noodles and all three were outstanding. Great service too. We will be coming back for sure again.

Came here for a pre-valentines day dinner. We absolutely loved the décor, atmosphere, and friendly service. The food was very tasty, and we’ll made. However, the portions were tiny, and the bill w a small large, that is my only gripe, the portion to price void was exponential. Probably won’t return, which is unfortunate, because the food was good.

The place was really nicely decorated with a great feel and dim lighting. Tables were nice spaced so you’re not sitting right next to another table. It was pretty quiet in there and not too busy on a Saturday night. The service was great! Our waiter was the best; he was always quick to refill our water and drinks. He was really friendly and helpful with picking what to order. The food was delicious. The Tum Yum soup with tofu had great flavors. The Dark Soy Noodles and Pad Thai were perfect. Would definitely come back! Parking was a little hard to find but what can you expect in LA!

It was very tasty, and a good vibe. I ordered the Phoenix on Fire. I thought it was a metaphor for the spicyness. I swear on my dogs life the plate was on fire when they brought it. Then I tasted it and the metaphor was accurate. I was being tortured to eat at a pace that wouldn’t sear my internal organs. But it was a good torture. I will return for torture again.

Food usually is great here. Great 7.98 lunch specials. Ordered the spicy tom khai coconut soup for 5 dollars. It was so, so. Probably would order the yellow curry again and skip the coconut soup.

Great service and good food! This is a nice little thai place at the corner of hillhurst and rusell ave. in L.A. We are glad we found this place. Very friendly staff and reliable service. A bit on the pricey side just be forewarned, but other than that everything else was nice. Will be back!

I’ve been here 2 – 3 times because I was with people who wanted to eat there… but I’m never satisfied with the food. I guess that’s why I’ve only been there so few times over the past 5 years! On this last occasion, I got the lunch special pad thai($ 8). The texture of the noodles is very chewy… more chewy than I like… and it was extremely salty. I ordered a side of white rice to try to make it edible, but I still couldn’t eat it and lost my appetite. I didn’t even bother to take it to go… And I never waste food! so for me that says a lot. The side of rice cost $ 2.50. I thought that was kind of pricey for white rice, so I was a little more annoyed at my disappointing meal that I was throwing away. But I will point out some pros! My coworker liked her curry a lot. I tried a little bit and it was tasty. The atmosphere is nice and calm, and the staff is friendly.
