Just tried Si Laa for the first time. Fantastic! Taking off one star because, as other reviewers have mentioned, the prices are high and the portions are small compared to many Thai restaurants. But you’re paying for the fanciness of the place. It’s pretty upscale. We ordered the chicken larb, crispy duck, and garlic ginger rice. Everything was delicious and on point, particularly the larb which came with the most perfect Romaine lettuce leaves. Where did this pristine lettuce come from in the middle of February? We’ll definitely be back to try the branzino. One of those went by and it looked amazing. The place is very small, so make a reservation. There’s a second room attached to the main dining room, but it was empty and looked like it’s never used(maybe they’re still working on it). I hope they do expand, because they seem to have enough business to fill the space, and they deserve it.

The quality of the food is really great and the service is very friendly. Nice ambience as well. The food is a little pricey for the portion size, but feels justified given the quality of the food.

Always great food and great service! This is a hidden gem on Robertson. You can quickly pass by without noticing. Not your typical Thai restaurant. The food is well thought out and put together deliciously! Appetizers to try… Hidden treasure and Larb! My favorites dishes are Spicy Crab Noodles and Devil noodles!

The food was very tasty but did not blow my socks off. The service was great. The sangria was very tasty, but it was the deserts that really stood out. Highly Recommend.

Si Laa is nice enough for a weekend date night, and the food is truly excellent. They certainly don’t offer as large of a range as a typical thai place, but there are more than enough options to amply please a thai craving. We started with the hand pleated pot stickers and then shared the crispy whole branzino and the spicy devil noodles; everything was delicious and I’d order it all again. While the portions are somewhat small, the quality of the food is outstanding. Make a reservation, as the restaurant is small and seems to stay busy.

Romantic cute little Thai restaurant in Beverly Hills, beautiful place with comfy intimate seatings. Our corner booth was perfect for a casual dinner date after a bit shopping at Beverly center. Menu was simple and neat, not as big as usual Thai restaurants, but the choices were good. Started with bottle of British sparkling water and bottle of chardonnay, they only serve beer and wine. Starter: Chicken mushroom soup with coconut milk: the broth was amazing, rich and spicy but not salty at all, so good! Entrees: Spicy crab noodles: tender crab meat, the rice noodles were so good, flavors were light. Filet with green beans: filet was a little overcooked for hubby, but still flavorful and delicious. Whole Branzino: they cut it for us after showing us the whole fish. Deep fried Branzino, the skin and bones were so crispy and crunchy, but the fish meat was still so soft. The sauce was bomb too, I love Branzino, this Thai style was absolutely yummy! Dessert was sorbets in 3 fruity flavors: very refreshing and yummy. Food was light, portions were on the smaller side, but the flavors were so nice. Hubby and I enjoyed the food and good service. It was a relaxing and lovely dinner date. It’s refreshing to have such a nice little Thai place in this area, if you ever would like to try some«not so fancy but still nice» restaurant in this hood, Si Laa is the perfect choice!

This is a lovely family-run restaurant that’s a nice change of pace if you’re looking for something more romantic but craving some yummy Thai food. The menu is not as extensive as typical Thai places, and the price is higher, but the food is elevated a couple notches and the ambiance is lovely. We started with the hidden treasure, which is an elevated version of hor mok, or steamed fish in red curry. The flavors were wonderful and hearty with just the right touch of acidity and spice — not really a «spicy» dish, as the menu states. Quite yummy and I would get it again. We also enjoyed the short rib with green curry — the short rib was perfectly tender, and the green curry was flavorful and the right consistency. Eating it with the roti was a neat twist and delicious, but I did almost wish for rice to sop up all that tasty curry. The pad see ew with short rib was pretty good as well, and I enjoyed the chunks of tender short rib that I think may have been marinated with five spice. It wasn’t the best pad see ew I’ve ever had, so I might skip this next time, but it was good. The winner of the evening was — just by a hair — the crispy duck. Oh my gosh, the texture… the meat was delicious and well-cooked, and the skin was amazingly crispy with a bit of melt-in-your-mouth fat underneath. This went well with the garlic & ginger rice. Mmmm. We also had very kind and welcoming service, and I had a nice time chatting with our waitress, who probably figured out that I’m Thai by my ability to pronounce«pad see ew» with the correct accent. I do love getting to know the people who work at establishments since it makes me feel more at home, and it’s a smart business strategy on their part ;)

This place is a hidden treasure and we have literally tried everything on the menu. Family owned establishment and it does not get any better than this. Absolutely love this place.

Fantastic Thai restaurant, kills the others in the neighborhood. My wife and I go here often and thoroughly enjoy everything about this quaint gem on Robertson. Great friendly service. Excellent spring rolls and the crab noodles are plentiful and delicious. For vegetarians, they will make any dish veggie for you if desired. The coconut rice is a true gem. They elevate Thai food to a new level of fine dining. Anyone giving this place 2 or 3 stars needs their head examined.

Family run Thai restaurant. Don’t be fooled by the white table cloth or the excellent service, this place has a total«home» feel to it. The staff is genuinely sweet and caring of your dining experience. The chef comes out to see how you like your food. Ingredients are fresh, flavorful, high quality and matched in a traditional Thai fashion. They buy their beef at the best butcher shop in town. They do it right here. Some of my favorites are papaya salad, duck, sea bass, beef with wide noodles and a few of the veggie dishes. Great food. Very welcoming atmosphere.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal. Had dinner with five friends and the waitress suggested we order our food and all share it together, buffet style. The flatbread and steak melts in your mouth. Even the salad was so flavorful with incredible textures. Definitely want to go back soon!

I felt this place was just OK. It’s a nice fancy ambience and the price reflected it. However, I felt that the portions were a bit smaller and the not quite as satisfying as some of the other places. 1. Grapefruit beer: awesome, it tastes like carbonated grapefruit juice 2. Thai iced tea: standard, but always good 3. Spicy crab noodles: I didn’t feel that there was especially much crab in here and there were a lot of onions, which is not my thing. Moderate portions. 4. Bok choy: I liked this dish, especially the mushrooms that came with it. Did wish there was more with the price 5. Pad see ew with short rib: This sounded better than it tasted, which wasn’t bad 6. Basil chicken: Moderate portions, good flavor 7. Mango with sticky rice: Rice was flavored with coconut, but slightly dryer than I’m used to. Small mango.

Overall I would have given them 2 stars, but for whatever reason I feel bad about that. and the service was very good. The breakdown: Service 4 stars Ambiance 4 stars Food 2 stars Value 1 star Arrived with high expectations, and ultimately felt underwhelmed. The service is very good, the ambiance is nice, but the food was just OK, and(I very rarely bring this up) but we felt that everything was about 20−25% more expensive than it should be, given the quality and/or portion. Crispy Garden Rolls, $ 8. Pretty tasty, but nothing to write home about. Prime example of the 20% thing I mentioned before. I believe it was two rolls, each sliced into thirds. It should have been an $ 6 dish, tops. Green Papaya Salad, $ 16. My fiancée enjoyed it, though we both felt it was under spiced(the menu lists it as spicy, however ours was not). Includes cashews and tomatoes — but you’ll have to look for them. I felt that we were served a pile of green papaya with a few shredded carrots, and the cashews and tomatoes were included as a garnish. Dressing was watery and underwhelming. For $ 16 I had higher expectations, for sure. Asian Eggplant, $ 10. This turned out to be the winner of the evening. Well prepared, very flavorful, and the eggplant doneness was perfect. I would have killed for a *slightly* larger portion, but all things considered this was the best dish in terms of taste and value, hands down. Short Rib(curry), $ 19. I ordered this based on the recommendation of our server. It’s not something I’d typically order at a Thai restaurant, and she sold it well. The dish was served in a small cast iron pot, holding about 1 cup of total volume. I was instructed to make little Thai tacos with the roti(flatbread). Overall, this dish had a lot of potential, but I felt a little annoyed with the portion. I found maybe 4 pieces of meat, each smaller than my pinky finger. Same with the snap peas — nada. Good luck finding them. The roti was very oily, and I ended up ordering a side of steamed rice($ 2) so I could get a little more milage out of the coconut broth. Pad See You, $ 13. This is one of our staple dishes, and we know it well. My fiancée is a veggie, so we asked for tofu instead of the chicken. The noodles were incredibly oily, so much that we didn’t bother eating the dish, or taking it home. In the end, for two diners(including 312oz beers), we spent over $ 100 included tax and tip and left dissatisfied. While I admit we went in with high expectations, I honestly feel we would have enjoyed a better meal for significantly less elsewhere. Alas, my quest for kick ass Thai in the Pico /Robertson area continues :(

Si Laa is a great place if you are looking for an upscale, trendy, romantic Thai restaurant on the Westside. The service is friendly and the food is tasty. I can only give it 4 stars because the price is much higher than other Thai restaurants in LA and the portions are small. If I need to impress someone or celebrate a special occasion, I would come back here.

It’s really strange that I hadn’t dined at Si Laa before now. It looks nice from the outside — in sort of a not so nice piece of Robertson Blvd. (No offense Best Western on that block!) After looking through Unilocal ratings, though, I decided that trying it was a must. I’ve been bemoaning the lack of good Thai food ever since I moved from Thai Town many years ago. And, the menu doesn’t advertise any tofu dishes, so I kinda just tossed this restaurant aside in the back of my mind. Well, never again. Went there on a Thursday night — early, met a friend during Happy Hour time. It was quiet and calm with a very nice ambiance and a pleasant server. I ordered the crispy spring rolls to start — I always have to try the spring rolls! Very very good — not too heavy and not too greasy. For an entrée I had the spicy crab noodles — I asked the server if the noodles were, indeed, spicy, because there is nothing I hate more than dishes that are advertised as spicy and you get them and they’re sweet and mild. The noodles were nicely spicy with large chunks of crab. Crunchy bean sprouts and nicely greased up noodles so nothing was sticking together. I ate them fast. Carbalicious. My friend inquired about the whole tofu thing and we were told they can sub everything out for tofu! Wonderful!!! She had the spicy basil with a side of brown rice and said it was good. I must go back with the hubs. It looks like it could be a nice mellow date night place. Slightly more expensive than your typical run of the mill Thai restaurant — but the atmosphere makes it worth it. Absolutely worth a try!

I think I found the best Thai restaurant in Los Angeles. We were told to come here by a family friend and we found a hidden gem! The décor is nice and the food is unreal. We ordered the beef satay, hidden treasure, branzino, catfish, duck, devils noodles and fried rice. I haven’t been impressed by Thai food in a while and this hit the spot. The duck was amazing. They also have good wine on the menu and I for sure plan on coming back here for more! I ran into a friend of mine and he eats here once a week it’s so good!

This place is great! If you love Thai food I would definitely recommend you try Si Laa. Some of my favorites are: –Pot Stickers –The Farmer’s Market Veggies –Pad Thai –Pad See You The ambiance is a little different from your typical Thai restaurant, with flowers on each table and a modern classy look. It has a little more of a ‘fancy’ feel to it. The staff is excellent, they are extremely attentive and very knowledgable, they give great recommendations if you are up for trying something new.(I suggest the pad see you with short rib instead of chicken) I will definitely be back!

**JUSTOKTHAIFOODONPICO/ROBERTSON** Didn’t want to cook so decided to give this place a try. PARKING ======== Street. AMBIANCE ========= Clean, almost stale, but spacious. Bar in the back and a spare room on the side. Modern art paintings on the wall. FOOD ===== TOMYUMSOUP — $ 6 With shrimp and mushroom in spicy lemongrass & cilantro broth was a bit too sour. Too many mushrooms. RATING: 3⁄5 SHORTRIB(spicy) — $ 19 Braised in green coconut curry sauce and sugar snap peas was average at best. Nice kick, but didn’t WOW me at all. The short ribs in curry sauce was a different twist. I prefer classic shrimp or chicken. And for $ 19, that was a bit pricey. RATING: 3⁄5 DESSERT ======== HOUSEMADEICECREAM(3 scoops) — $ 7 Tried the coconut, banana, and honey. Very delicious and natural. Favorite part of the meal. RATING: 4⁄5 BEVERAGE ========= THAIICEDTEA — $ 3 Nothing fancy or unusual. RATING: 3⁄5 SERVICE ======= Friendly, on-point. RATING: 4⁄5 OVERALL, the price and quality of food wasn’t there for me. Had much better Thai food elsewhere. But I wouldn’t recommend.
