Schulman Photo Lab

Perfect service and exceptional work.
I purchased a 16×20 print of a 35 mm negative that I shot. The people at Schulman helped me decide on a paper and answered all of my questions. The turnaround time was pretty fast too.
I think Schulman Photo Lab is the best resource for silver gelatin printing. I will definitely keep coming back. My print looks great!

One of the last few remaining Photo Labs that actually does photo developing and printing. No not digital manipulation or computer filters. Actual dip and dunk, fixer, stop bath, burning and dodging, hand printed using different types of paper. These labs are what true photography used to create images with. Many photographers had personal darkrooms to print, but for many jobs I would see the expert Russell Adams … I must have went to the lab twice a week. The place still permantely smells of fixer, and it has not changed much in 20 years. The knowledge this lab has is second to none! If you remember what a proof sheet is, a roll of Tri X film, and you need a black and white print on true Silver Gelatin paper… this is the only place to go.

In a day when digital photography has completely taken over the (film) market, it’s reassuring to find a reliable developing service for old black and white negatives. I recently «discovered» some historic old photo negatives and Schulman’s ability to bring them back to life has been outstanding.

I couldn’t be happier with the work they did for me! I had some photos done and they did a fantastic job. They did some proofs fo me to look at before they printed and I was being super fussy and they were able to make the minor changes I wanted and did it happily! I am a pain in the ass and they treated me like I was normal! GO THERE!

This lab is great. It’s in the Hollywood and has a very funky and creative vibe. The owner, Russell, helped me to get great prints and made the whole experience fun. It was nice to go someplace where they take you seriously even if your not a professional photographer.

I’ve been using Russell at Schulman Photo Lab for years now. I absolutely love this place. I won’t let anyone else do my B&W work. I live 375 miles away now and I still continue to go to Russell. (Just not as often as I would like).
