My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and I have to say the service was great. The guy that was at the cashier was very nice and since it was my boyfriend’s first time eating Persian food he really went out of his way to suggest what’s the best on their menu and gave us free dessert as we left. The beef kabob is a MUST have. Hands down one of best beef kabobs I’ve had around town. Their bread and homemade hummus that they give you as a appetizer is good as well. If you go here I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Interesting… I was reading other reviews and it seems like they are always out of the chicken and beef koobedah combo?! I was here at 5:45 and they were out — doesn’t make sense. The other suggesting that she offered was something like $ 17, crazy. I don’t really like being nickeled and dime nor was the service anything bordering hospitable. Chicken was ‘fine’ so I’m having a hard time understanding who is giving this 5 stars. Try elsewhere — nothing special whatsoever.

Bad service and deceiving! The signs outside claim they are kosher — after we asked our server, she said they are kosher, but when asked to see their certificate — she said We do not have one!!! Not a good business practice to have lied to us.

Wow again Just arrived, so cold outside, was greeted with a bowl of traditional Ashe reshteh and dinner had cornish hen chicken Kabab, tender and tasty and they had just made some fresh Kobideh, brought us a skewer, heaven so good . This is the only Persian restaurant that I would eat at, outside of my own home. True freshness. And trust me the owner is not my cousin

We FEASTED here. Everything we ate was delicious, but IMO highlights were the fresh bread, hummus, eggplant, beef kebab, and rosewater saffron rice pudding. Customer service was amazing, as well. Casual vibe and a wonderful experience overall.

Great place for a traditional kabob and persian food. They have hot and fresh sangak bread coming out fresh out of oven. Nice and friendly staff. We got vip service. I loved their kobideh. Make sure to try sholehzard dessert. Overall Yummy!

After went in this place. I asked to see if this is not certified kosher. The manager behind the counter was unable to show a certification. Watch out for there bad business practices

Love this establishment! The food is excellent, and their friendly service is top notch. I came here for the first time with my girlfriend after work for a quick dinner a couple of months ago, but I just got around to making a Unilocal account. This was one of the few places that I really wanted to leave a review. We shared the double beef koobideh plate and ash reshteh soup, and it was more than enough for both of us. Very generous portion sizes, fresh, and super tasty! The sangak bread and hummus were also really good. The owner also gave us small complimentary desserts after our meal, which was a nice treat. I am a fan of good local eats, and Sangak Grill is now definitely one of the few in the top of my list. Thank you for the great service. Can’t wait to come back for more beef koobideh!

I was very excited to try this place based on the reviews but sadly, I was not blown away. While I agree the sangak was good, the falafel was not. It was a bit dry which made it very crumbly when you bit into it. The hummus was OK but again not the best I ever had(no one can compete with Joe’s falafel). The service was friendly and they have plenty of other items. This place just wasn’t for me so I will continue to the make the trek to Studio City for falafel laffa wraps.

Locate neighborhood joint serving Persian food. This place is within walking distance from my house and I’ve been passing by each time i go to the persian markets. Finally stopped in to order some food to go. Wanted the chicken combo, but they were out and ended up with the beef koobideh/chicken kabob combo. $ 15.99($ 17 with tax) came with rice and I requested for half salad, can of small soda, and sangak. The food took a bit to cook, but the owners let us know before hand that it’ll be a while to cook up the meat. They were very kind. When our order was ready, they packed everything nicely. Such a big portion! We were on our way leaving, and the owner actually ran after us because they forgot to give us our bread. Dude, how freaking nice and sweet is that? Such amazing customer services. Moving on to the food, the chicken kabob was super tasty and cooked perfectly. The rice was good, nice flavor. Salad was fresh, nothing spectacular, and the sangak bread was very delicious. The only thing was the beef koobideh was a little bland. Not the best i’ve had. However, given the portion of the meal and the great customer service, I definitely wouldn’t mind going back and supporting them. The combo fed two of us comfortably, we had leftovers.

I had order Beef Koobideh and didn’t like it at all. Koobideh tasted and smelled so bad that i couldn’t finish my meal. Plus you had to ask for napkin they didn’t have a napkin dispenser on table. I had to ask twice and each time the owner just give me one. so cheap… She give you 10% discount if you write a good review on Unilocal for her bussiness. I won’t go back again

Although it is my first time here, I am no virgin to Persian food I have been to some of the best, such as Carnivale Rafi Sholeh Darya Etc This place is awesome and cheap to boot The eggplant appetizer was amazing The yogurt with cucumbers with mint was creamy and delicious The hummus was the best I have had in a long time The pita was awesome. Like Indian Naan The salas dressing was light and not overly lemony The beef koobideh was soooooo tasty! The chicken breast kebab was succulent and juicy I will be back!!!

My girl friend and I had beef koobideh and soltani plus Salad Olvieh(V)appetizer served with the best Sangak I ever tasted. let’s not forget their homemade HUMMUS… It’s hard to find a Persian place on pico that serves good food and great service but I get that at Sangak on every visit. Thank you staff and management ****************^^^^

I had no idea how to pronounce the English phonetics of the menu items. Rather than try to figure it out, I told the cashier to order for me. She charged me $ 14 for beef koobideh. My meal came with a cripsy sesame bread and hummus. The hummus had a dusting of a red spice on top and just a drizzle of oil. My beef koobideh tasted super tender and had a flavor profile I cannot describe. The saffron rice and grilled tomato really tied the flavors together. It was delicious.

This place has a casual, homey atmosphere, and good prices for big portions. The food ranges from excellent to decent — the 3 spread sampler appetizer was great, especially the«yogurt»(which I presume is non-dairy since it’s kosher, but tastes just as good as the real stuff.) However, the beef koobideh that everyone raves about was nothing special. The meat was tender and juicy, but not very heavily seasoned and rather bland. I recommend the Ash-e-reshteh soup: it’s a Persian specialty and very unique, unlike anything I’ve tried before. It’s quite filling, with beans, noodles, and mint. The flavor and texture profile is really different, and definitely worth a try once. Parking on the street, or there’s a big lot in the back for the Glatt Market; not sure if you can park there? BIGWARNING: Sangak Café has a sign by the register, offering 10% off to anyone who *writes a review* for them on Unilocal. This isn’t a check-in offer; this is giving a discount to someone who immediately writes a(presumably good) review of the restaurant. So take all the 4 and 5 star reviews with a grain of salt; it’s possible they were incentivized.
