If you date lawyers, you learn quickly they like to get disclosures on a first date. That said here’s mine: May(the owner) has been a longtime friend. I’ve never done yoga before, but now that I’m single again it fits the pattern. Yoga-heads and single hood — it’s a thing. Doesn’t every single have a yoga pose photo? Anyhow she was hosting a lower back pain workshop for $ 30 — cool deal. So I wanted to see if it would work for me. May was excellent delving into the spine & back physiology before we got into the therapy work. No special treatment for me. Everyone got the same attention. She’s really positive, encouraging, and a great teacher! I was a total n00b but I felt super comfortable following her instructions. And even better, my back has felt great ever since. Now I need to keep it up!

I attended a yoga workshop last week for low back pain and it was such an excellent class and very informational. Loved it! May is such a great instructor in style and content.

I have had ongoing back problems for over 2 years and tried almost everything. Seeing May and attending her workshops, private sessions and group yoga classes has helped me tremendously. She is truly a holistic teacher, very talented and insightful. I’ve always shied from yoga classes because the teachers are unable to attend to so many students. What I like about May’s classes is the fact that they are so small. She is there to watch and instruct on a personal basis and it really makes a difference. She’s one of the best yoga practitioners I’ve ever encountered. Re: Yoga is therapeutic in every sense.

May is a extremely talented practitioner with an amazing intuitive sense of what my body needs. I always leave feeling transformed and more myself. I especially love when she plays the singing bowls at the end of my session.

i found Re: Yoga one day as I was looking for private yoga lessons on the Internet. I am new to Yoga and felt uncomfortable at the large yoga studios, where everybody seemed so «experienced» in the practice. I made an appointment with May, whom I found to be kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in my well being. The initial consultation determined what plan of action was best for my health goals. I have been going to Re: Yoga for almost three months and my lower back and neck pain are gone. I am over-the-moon happy with May and all of the excellent, knowledgable instructors that make up Re: Yoga Therapy Studio. Thank you May for providing a better way to a healthy body, mind, and soul.

I am still basking in the glow of a well-rounded, therapeutic, and nurturing yoga class with May Che, owner of re: Yoga Therapy. Full disclosure, I’ve been teaching yoga for 13 years and before that, I attended a daily yoga class that was often 90 minutes of constant movement, to the final, sweat-soaked second. I attended my first class with May on a Monday night at 7:30 p.m. with two other people. Taking a yoga class with May is so unhurried and addresses obvious physical tension, that once you reach the end of class, in an extended, luxurious savasana(resting pose), you realize how much tension you’ve been carrying all along. The class began with work to remove muscular tension and progressed to doing things to engage different areas of the body, that were then utilized in classical yoga postures. For example, we activated our legs with exercises at the wall and used that thigh strength in chair pose. May then led us through several yoga postures, using a cadence of full inhalation and exhalations, that made the entire practice a meditation. This is the real thing! I was definitely aware of working in stronger standing postures, such as «warrior I,» but there was ample time to observe the effects on the body and breath after each sequence. By the end, resting in a pose where we lay on our backs with a bolster under the hips and legs propped on the wall, all my tension had melted away. Would I practice with May again? Yes! Would I recommend others to see her at re: Yoga Therapy? Another resounding Yes! Regardless if you have no yoga experience or have practiced for years — or a yoga teacher, you will be in excellent hands, when you practice in May’s studio.

I started seeing May Che upon recommendation from a friend to check out yoga therapy. It is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I have played competitive sports my whole life, and I recently tried traditional group yoga classes as a way to recover from a recent sports injury. However, I ended up getting further injured in those classes from the strenuous positions and rapid pace. May has been able to develop a personalized program that allows me to work around my injury(and other lingering injuries) so I can get many of the physical benefits of yoga, all at a pace appropriate for my injuries. That said, the greatest benefits I have received from practicing with her don’t have to do with the physical parts of yoga. The largest benefits have come from May helping me to work through my frustrations related to my injuries through meditation, breathing, and yoga philosophies. May’s continual positive reinforcement and gentle nudging to keep me accountable have been just the type of coaching I have needed. I also am not very spiritual, and I appreciate how May has not pushed the spiritual pieces of yoga, which others studios have been very pushy about. May is one of the most genuine people you will meet, and you can tell from the moment you meet her how much she cares about you. I have received so much from my short time working with her and my only regret is that I had not found her sooner.
