A Central-American classic. Come for the fried chicken, and stay for the fries and chimol(salsa). I wasn’t too intrigued by the cole slaw or yuca fries though…

I dislike the smell of fried chicken in general. not a big fan of this place but they have a special so i came along with 2 co-workers for lunch. Chicken was ok nothing to be excited about. One of my co-workers had a burrito. so i decided to order that next time. (came back for a 2nd chance) ordered the chicken burrito. it was good but the chicken was fried in the burrito. I’m not sure if this is a central american way but i wasnt a big fan. i would come a 3rd time and try ordering something different. thanks!

Overall they get a 3 stars but the empanadas get 5 stars … Super toxic greasy chicken but full of savory taste. I’ll have to try their grilled next time. Their beans are a delightful taste but their bananas are a defamation to the banana tree and all the process it endures for it to end so tasteless and discolored in a fast food restaurant in the hood. Same goes with the rice. I normally don’t care for Yuca but this here is an extension of acceptable potato wedges.

Ok ok ok first this chicken taste nothing like the real thing only the skin looks like the real things trust me I know I have eaten the real Pollo campero in El Salvador. The flavor is not the same n this Pollo is greasy the other one is not the Cole slaw doesn’t have the same flavor either is just lettuce with what it looks like baby cucumber. The cream that they use on this Cole slaw taste like the 1 that is use in KFC. The beans r not the same or the rice, not even the bread is the same is hard n it looks like they have it frozen. The look on the menu is not the same like the one back in El Salvador trust me Google it you’ll see. Imagine that they would at least try to make it look like the real deal but if you look closer not even the logo is right the fuck en chicken is wearing a white shirt he is not supposed to be wearing a shirt. I would write a better review or n update review but i won’t because this place is fake n the flavors are all wrong.

I haven’t been to el pollo campero in years, yesterday I happened to be in the area and I stopped by to get some chicken. The fried chicken was alright, now the Peruvian chicken should be an embarrassment for the Peruvian people. The chicken was so salty I looked like if they put a bunch of spices together in powder form with extra extra salt and lemon., coleslaw was watery. No bueno pollo

Second time my family and I have visited this Pollo Campero while taking a trip to LA and it’s as good if not better the second time. The food is delicious; chicken has a crunchy skin and juicy meat, fries are crispy, and the service was quicker today. Yes, it’s a small location compared to other restaurants and the wait to order can be a bit long, but being a popular brand of chicken and I’m sure having a lot of people visit on a daily basis, the wait is worth it.

Where to begin? Hubby & I have been several times, but this is the last! Only saving grace was the chicken. The coleslaw was horrible! No taste, no flavor, it was like unwashed cabbage with watered down mayo. The fries were cold and lifeless. The tortillas tasted like they were taken straight from the package, not even cooked. The roll was dry & cold. I’m done!

Staff was nice and friendly the location was fairly clean. The chicken was delicious but the coleslaw was just horrible(it’s cabbage and green bell pepper and really watery) and does absolutely no justice to the Pollo Campero from Centra America and the same can be said about their Tamarindo and Horchata. Overall it just seemed like a Mexican take on a Central American icon that is Pollo Campero. I’ll be back for the Chicken but nothing else.

How can you not like fried chicken? This is the Latino version of KFC. The fried chicken is very good, moist, juicy and flavorful. The bread and corn tortillas that accompany it though, are meh. The sides are ok, but not great. The fries are actually decent. The empanadas, while they’re not the freshest or home made, are good in a weird processed way. The place is a bit grimy, but the parking is easy and as long as you validate from Curaçao, is only $ 1. It’s quick, cheap and a decent lunch spot for people that work in DTLA.

It’s been a super long time since I’ve made a trip to Central America, but I do have fond memories of the smell of Pollo Campero of various flights. I also hadn’t been back to this location since it opened, so wasn’t sure if my memory exceeded the quality. The chicken did not disappoint. I love the«breading» they use here, more than KFC or the fancy choco chicken(which I do like). The meat stays super juicy, just as I remembered. Had a side of mashed potatoes, which are better IMO at KFC. Not ordering those again. just blah.

Winner winner chicken dinner. But seriously this was one of the best Fried Chicken Dinner I’ve ever had. I’m regretting not getting a second CB. I’m half Salvi/Chapin, I’m not sure what’s all the complaint about this chicken but to me it was pretty bomb. Very juicy. I’ve been one of the few lucky ones to even eat one that came straight from El Salvador, tasted about the same if I recall correctly. Btw. a lot of fine chicks work here. Woo. ;)

This place isn’t really that great, except for their Grilled Chicken Burritos, which are tasty and cheap. The rest of the menu is mediocre and too expensive. A weird hybrid child of Pollo Loco and KFC.

Horrible chicken and horrible cole salad… If you born and raised in El Salvador just avoid this pollo, frijoles and Mexican salsas common and TORTILLAS? and the coleslaw??? Are you serious? Bell pepper on the coleslaw? Si naciste y creciste y comiste este pollo en el salvador mes a mes ni vengas, just avoid this place, the place is so ghetto, nothing to compare to a restaurant in El Salvador, is like pollo campero in San Juan opico lol.

I loved eating at this restaurant back in Guatemala all the time. The flavor was the same. It was very good. The problem i have with chicken now is that the pieces that they serve are very small just like Pollo Loco. I think they might have to change yhe name to «Paloma Campero»

Pollo Campero has been on my radar for a long time, since some of my friends who served church missions in Guatemala rant and rave about it. So when we needed catering for a fiesta, I jumped at the opportunity to finally experience the goodness they’re talking about. I’ll be the first to admit that catering usually decreases the quality of any food. Anything made in large quantities and not eaten when it’s piping hot probably isn’t as good as it would be in a single order, eaten in-house. That being said… …the chicken tastes like fried El Pollo Loco. A standard Latin-American marinade: pineapple juice, vinegar, garlic, oregano. The chicken was a bit dry(especially the white meat) but just not as exciting as I thought it would be. The beans and rice were downright terrible. I’m seeing other people on here say that it’s nothing like the Pollo Camperos in Central America, although this is an official location. I guess I’ll have to give it another shot should I ever find myself wandering around in Guatema

This place is like El Pollo Loco meets KFC. Chicken was good… crispy and moist. Tortillas, rice, and fries were decent as well. Nothing amazing. The salsa was so so. I’ve had better. Good stop for a quick lunch, but make sure you beat the crowd. Slow, slow, slow service. –Give it a try!

I have travelled trough out Latin America so I know this restaurant very well. I was excited to see that it is available in some parts of the USA. The first one I visited was the Los Angeles location. The chicken had a familiar taste and brought back memories of my travels. I am a big fan of this franchise, the chicken is very tasteful and so are the other items on the menu which give you a taste of the Latin American cuisine. I highly recommend this place! #30daysofyelp

Not bad for my first visit. My girfriend was in a «Fried Chicken» mood and told me about this place. Apparently this is Central America’s Fried Chicken franchise(Guatemala and El Salvador). She did warn me that the grilled chicken was no good, and to stick solely with the fried chicken. So we did that/We got a 10-piece meal, with 2 sides, and 5 rolls of bread, all for about $ 20. Not bad. The chicken is freakin’ juicy and the skin is nice and crispy. Quite good actually and as busy as it was shows how popular and good this place it. I work in the Valley and have seen a few places there… because of the Cowboy Chicken… I knew I saw it elsewhere, but never knew anything about the franchise. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle(jk!). XD Go try it out!
