Food was good but the prices were off even for a kosher restaurant. $ 3.99 for a small hot chocolate which is just the grocery store powder mixed with milk. seriously? We had the crêpe without ricotta 11.99 and a malawa with scrambled eggs which was yummy but I don’t think we will be coming back it’s just not worth the price. Also I came in with no one there basically and a double stroller no one helped me out while I was clearly struggling with the door and there’s no change table in the bathroom even though hey are catering to families with kids considering they have booster seats. Oh well

DONOTGOTOPICOCAFEIFYOUAREIN A HURRY! 1 hour. That’s how long it took to get a sandwich, a soup, a pizza, and a salad. When the food finally arrived, the pizza was uncooked(you could see the dough), the tuna sandwich had tofu instead of tuna, the French onion soup had weird croutons instead of regular croutons, the Israeli salad had lettuce and balsamic dressing, and, to top it all off, my well-awaited golden hashbrowns turned out to be orange, over-seasons, and cold chopped potatoes. When we complained about the 1 hour wait, our waitress confronted us, and in a condescending tone, alerted us that our complaints were invalid because the computer showed that the orders were only put in 21 minutes ago and said, «As you can see, we are extremely busy.» Out of 22 tables, 6 were occupied and 4 already had their food. My table debated and realized why this might have happened. When we first sat down, it only took us 3 minutes to decide what we were ordering. We asked for a waiter twice and no one took our order until we had been sitting for 20 minutes. On top of this, our waters didn’t arrive until 30 minutes had gone by. We were definitely NOT ordering the dessert special. We arrived at the Resturant at 12:30 and we left at precisely 2:17. If you plan on going to a lunch that takes less than 2 hours, I do not recommend Pico Café.

This is my favorite café/restaurant if I ever need a tasty breakfast/snack/lunch at a reasonable cost. Every single dish that I’ve gotten from here has been so amazingly tasty. They really know how to put the right foods together for maximum taste and look. I like the workers there too; Mild mannered and pleasant.

Worst service, food takes forever to come out, waited 45 mins which it wasn’t worth the wait but food was mediocre. And very expensive for what you’re getting.

I think I enjoy the idea of pico café more than the actual experience of dinning at pico café. The food is affordable, they have a large variety of dishes to choose from on the menu, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and happen to be walking distance from me. However, this is more of an illusion. The restaurant is normally dirty, I’ve been sat at tables and had to request they clean them more than once. The food is normally a let down, today I got a grilled vegetable salad with goat cheese and a Greek bagel. The grilled veggies were cold, they didn’t bring out the garlic toast the salad comes with, and the Greek bagel was a sad thin mess at room temperature. The service is an issue as well. Most servers will argue with small accommodations such as a different cheese, or avocado on the side. The servers are hard to find, you will most likely have to go in and get your server when you need to order, or get your check. Because they are a kosher restaurant, in a neighborhood where the majority of people keep kosher they get business. This place is great for picky eaters, or to accommodate a larger party. If this were a non kosher café they wouldn’t have business at all. There isn’t much appeal to a place that is dirty, has poor service, and below average food. Why do I keep going back? Only because of friends in the area who want something simple like soup, or coffee mid day. Both my company and I normally agree that eating there was a poor decision. Yet we are clearly masochist and continue to dine there again. Pico Café, please change this, so I can change my review and rave about your improvements. I want to like your establishment!

I just had a delightful experience having breakfast with a friend at Pico Café! I’m really surprised that this place is not packed everyday. Let me start with the parking. You can actually park in the back and access the restaurant from their back door. I found this super convenient rather than having to mess around with street parking and the inevitable forgetting to put money in the parking meter. The help staff is happy and smiling, and this really adds to the positive atmosphere. The tables are not too close together so you can actually have a conversation and not have to listen to everyone else around you. The menu is full of what you would expect for breakfast. I glanced at the rest of the menu and was pleased to find many intriguing items that I would like to try on a subsequent visit. I ordered a custom omelette, hash browns and fruit. When I ordered the fruit, I was expecting a little garnish type of bowl that is smaller than the saucer under a coffee cup. Instead, I was surprised to be served a huge bowl of fresh fruit that was cut into bite-sized pieces. There was mango(of which I am not a big fan, but this was so good!), peeled orange and grapefruit sections, apples and grapes(that had been cut in half and de-seeded). The omelette was done perfectly with 2 eggs. It wasn’t burnt and it wasn’t gooey and underdone. I had inside avocado, feta cheese and mushrooms. The cheese was melted, the avocado was not. And it looked like the mushrooms had been pre-sauteed before being put inside. YUM!!! The hash browns were also excellent — done just right. They were not dripping with oil, and they were lightly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The prices were very reasonable as well. They do play light music to enhance the ambiance. This was not too loud as to impinge on our conversation. There was even a fish tank that I found very visually soothing. I found the table, chairs, and cutlery clean and neat. All-in-all, a very enjoyable experience that I hope to repeat soon!

Tried to have lunch at Pico Café on Sunday. My friend and I patiently waited for someone to take our order. The waitress said she couldn’t take our order and didn’t know how long until she could as the kitchen was too backed up!!! I must say in all my years dining out I have never had worse service!

I’ve been here a couple times by friends requests when we had get togethers. It’s an alright place, nice inside, but I don’t feel that it’s a very welcoming store. The service is okay, but the food wasn’t as great as they boast and pretty small portions. Kind of an overpriced place to eat for what you’re getting. With all the other kosher eateries around, this wouldn’t be amongst my first few options to stop by. If you have a complaint with the order, they typically aren’t willing to work with you to get your order right and lack helping with customer satisfaction. I’ve ordered over the phone for pick up before and although prepared fast, when I opened it after leaving only to realize the soup didn’t come with the butter and toast that should have been included according to their online menu. They also wouldn’t take a credit card for an order under 15 $ so I had to go back to my car for cash. They have parking in the back which is convenient though. Don’t think I would go back there however, given all the other great restaurants in the area with such food choices and many more in a better setting.

I must say as per my last review that service has slightly improved the service was much faster and(seems like they have taken some action since so many people were complaining) But the service in the kitchen is so so so so so slow It took just under 25 minutes for the food to come out All we ordered was an avocado salad and burekas The fact that it took hem that longn to warm up something and cut up a salad is worrying ANDWHENITCOMESTOTHECHECKTHEYIMMEDIATELYCHARGE A 15% service fee Which I was really unhappy to pay But that’s Israeli for you

I realy like this café on pico Blvd. The service is kind the food is good. The place is clean and the prices are very resonable. What else can you ask for from a place that doesn’t aim to be to fancy. This a place to come and eat maybe see a familier face here and there. It is perfect for the purpose. I will for sure go there when I am in the area.

Yechhhhhhh … tastes like industrially prepared food straight out of a can. The sad-sack, refuse-to-spend-a-dime, proud-to-be-a-cheap-frump décor should serve as a warning.

Amazing feta salad, great service and I’ve never had a bad experience here. Food is a little pricey but the quality and abundance of food they give you far outweighs the surrounding restaurants.

Spacious and clean but the service and food were a little lacking. We met up with a relatively large group of family, including close to 10 kids. The staff were getting very snappy at the kids and were very impatient. We ordered some omelets and breakfasts and it took a while to be served. When the omelets came we were disappointed — they tasted as if they has been made from some mix or been in the refrigerator for a day or two, they had this metallic taste to them. Other than the space being clean and roomy we were not impressed.

Very nice café, great food, nice staff. There is only one problem — they don’t accept the check in offer from Unilocal, because they tried to take it off, but something didn’t work. I don’t know what was wrong, anyway disregard it. But the place is good and prices are reasonable.

Really disappointed in this restaurant. I have to say the food was actually very good, however there were so many problems with the restaurant. They did not want accept my 10% off Unilocal coupon and said«We don’t use that coupon anymore» and I told them they are very active on Unilocal and they still didn’t want to give me the discount. They just keep the coupon on Unilocal so they can attract customers!!! Their service was horrible and it was very hard to catch a waiter in this tiny restaurant. We asked them to split the bill with multiple payment methods and the owner didn’t know how. He even gave us the wrong amount of change back! They even auto tip15% on every bill even if you didn’t like their service! Never going back there again. If they are a business, they really need to know how to run it. Highly recommend going elsewhere. Jeff’s Gourmet on Pico is probably a better bet!

great food! prices are very good. I cant believe someone here said over priced menu? the prices are under the average!!! you can find here falafel, blinches and it taste original. This place is dairy only and they have great selection of salads, soups and sandwiches. I had the minestrone soup(amazing!!) and quinoa salad with some beets in it. Totally worth it! best coffee place in the ’ pico — robertson ’ area.
