This bakery is a nice stop if you are a local, but not really a destination place. I would recommend El Gallo which is up the street if you really want some good pan dulce. I work at the high school across the street and this place is walking distance, thus why I actually frequent the place. The sign reads that it has been open since the 60’s which is what originally drew me to the place, I am not scared of trying new things, even if they look a little whole in the wallish. When I first went with my coworker I got a biscuit type bread which was decent, my coworker got this bread with crème and a fruit spread that he did not like and he has not returned to the place. I have returned and tried a wide array of their breads. I like the conchas, the puercitos/cochinitos, the tortugas and a few other items-they go good with coffee for a morning break/breakfast. Also, I should say the sign is misleading, although they have been open for years they have not had the same baker-and I think they have even changed management. I know that in the time I have been going(about 4 years now) I have noticed when the quality of the bread has changed.
