This place makes the best Salvadorean Pan Dulce hands down no questions asked. I liked it so much that I started offering it at my place of business(Las Cazuelas Restaurant). They sell wholesale to restaurants and others. Give them a try if you’ve been looking for pan dulce salvadoreño.

If you like getting day-old pastries and breads then this is the place to get it. Went early morning several times recently because the smell of freshly baked sweet bread was enticing. On all 3 occasions it was disappointing that the breads were day– old, hard, and dry! As it is the only bakery in the area open at 4:30 a.m. I stopped on my way to work to check it out. Place wouldn’t be so bad if the taste of the bread they sell you matched the smell coming from the kitchen! Seems like they are pulling the old popcorn aroma in the movie theater trick to attract customers! I’ll drive to Boyle– Heights and get sweet bread at LAMASCOTA instead, because there I know it will be hot and fresh made that morning.

I’m glad this place isnt near my house or else I’ll be seriously overweight. I’m a huge bread lover and this authentic salvadorian bread just stole my heart. My favorite the .50 cent quesadillas and the pastelitos de pina and leche, 4 for $ 1.00. The location, parking, and service are horrible but who cares… I’m here for the bread dammit!

I haven’t tried every type of bread here but what I’ve tried has been excellent. I wish I could remember the names of everything that I’ve had but I can tell you that their quesadilla(which has nothing to do with the Mexican tortilla with cheese) is the most authentic in all of L.A. At $ .50 for a cupcake size and $ 1.00 for a slightly bigger piece it seems expensive compared to their other breads(which mostly run four for one dollar) but it’s well worth it. You haven’t really had Salvadoran sweet bread in L.A. until you’ve had it from this bakery. Don’t forget to bring cash.
