I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and it’s always been the same consistent great food. The atmosphere here is reminiscent of a homey restaurant, with friendly staff, and a whiff of marinara wafting throughout. It’s always busy here, especially nights and weekends, so it’s a good idea to call ahead. I usually order the Philidelphia Steak Sandwich, and start off with their Chicken Soup. Why order a steak sandwich at an Italian restuarant? Because it’s that good. Their garlic bread is one of the best I’ve ever had!!!

While is it not good that we spend many days and many nights at CHLA, the one thing we always do when we are at the hospital is to order delivery from this restaurant! My son loves the lasagna and we like everything we ever tried! Thanks for delivering to CHLA!

Woooooow!!! Do the people that eat here have tongues?! This place blows. Let’s see, garlic bread was super salty, ravioli tasted like a frozen meal, chicken Marsala was just plain nasty and the calamari was just bad. I was really looking forward to eating here and left with the biggest disappointment ever. I would have to say that even Olive Garden is better than this place. This was a huge fail! Bigger fail than the time lakers signed Malone and Gary. Go lakers!!!

I first came here while I was in Los Angeles attending a training. My Brother wanted to meet up for dinner since I was in town, so he suggested this place. I was hooked from then on! I try to come here whenever Im in town. There is something about this small family owned restaurant that attracts me back every time. It could be the huge portion of their Chicken Diana… lol

It’s a Los Feliz staple, and not a bad one, but the two times I’ve been, it hasn’t blown me away. Standard Italiano. I’ve had their pizza and their pasta, and it’s cool. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. Not feeling the prices much either. I have heard that I need to come for lunch though, so maybe that’s where the magic happens. My favorite part? They gave us wine as we waited for a table. Good looks!

Returned after 25 years. Has a large variety of choices. Everything is good, pizza is one of our favorites. Cooked in pizza oven so crust is good not like chain pizza stores. Service was fast and friendly. As good as I remembered. Tip: have validated parking in rear, enter from street on south.

On our way home from a show at the Pantages and needed a place to eat, stumbled across Palermo small spot perfect for the wife and I. We started with the Calamari and the chicken soup both were great starters. I had a glass of the house white wine nothing special just what I needed. We thought of getting a pizza since every table almost had one, but we wanted a pasta so we asked the waiter between the fettuccine Alfredo and the linguine and clams, we choose the linguine and clams. Great choice both in the Restaurant and the choice in food orders, we had a wonderful experience glad we found our new favorite Italian restaurant in Hollywood, portion where large and the atmosphere comfortable as well as lively. Just what we needed for our drive home. We will be back.

Cute independent Italian restaurant. Although it seemed like there were more employees than patrons present at the time of my visit. I ordered the«works» specialty pizza — minus the anchovies. It was delicious but when you order a pizza with that many toppings, the pizza can become a bit soggy. Overall, a good pizza in a cozy(as another Unilocaler also described) place.

Very nice scenery. I loved the ambiance and the costumer service was the best! It’s very authentic and a beautiful piece of Italy. We ordered the pizza rosa half with pepperoni and onion. Caprese salad and a side of calamari. BOMB! BOMB! And more BOMB! Ps. Parking is free in the back with validation!

Groupon expired so i lost out on the deal. Here’s why… The Groupon I had expired on a Monday. but they are closed on Mondays. I think it should expire on a day they are open at least. recently was considering purchasing another groupon when they offered 20% off on local deals. So I went back to the groupon page checked out the Palermo groupon and looked at the fine print. How odd… the items they suggest such as veal picata aren’t even on the menu. If it were I think it would cost more than the up to value cost because all the veal items are over $ 20. they also suggested prosciutto as an appetizer. hmm? the prosciutto costs more than the(up to $ 9.75) value too. The house wine offered(up to $ 20) sounds fishy too. Im looking at their website menu now… It appears their house wine is sold in a carafe(vina della casa) at $ 9.95. I see others raving about this place and leaving only 3 stars. I think my 2 stars was generous & I still have the hassle of redeeming my expired Groupon at Palermo Ristorante Italiano for the $ 40.00 I paid, from now to eternity.

I’ve been coming here for 25 years, Tony and Bardo always nice and welcoming as a family restaurant should be. Everyone I brought always come back, now my 11 year old son asks to come here as it is a family tradition to eat here!

This place has character. The walls show it, the clientele all seem like family, and the food tastes like old world flavor. Every item drips olive oil… Not the place to choose on a diet. But it’s all so good. Be warned, if you go with a group, they will not seat you until your whole party is there. The pizza is delish. The pesto is covered in chunks of pine nuts. Everything so good. On busy nights, a comedic accordion player walls around singing songs and making jokes. The kids love him.

Creamy, Cheesy, and Carb-overload, omg, yesss!!! My office had our Christmas party here, and the food was delicious with generous portions, yay!!! A lot of us left with a doggie bag for next day’s lunch. Located in the Los Feliz neighborhood — about one block before House of Pies. You make a right turn on Russell Ave, and the valet parking lot is to the left side after the green house restaurant. The parking attendant, works on tips when parking your car — so no pre-parking fee, double yay… I ordered the Chicken Diane — which is a tender, boneless chicken breast lightly seasoned with bread crumbs, served with mushrooms in a creamy, white sauce. I got the full size for $ 18(they also have the small portion for $ 16), but it’s worth the money to get the full size, since I got enough for next day’s lunch :) The chicken pieces itself were juicy, and oh so tender! The pieces were cut up in big chunks too! The mushrooms were soft and so yummy, and the white sauce — so creamy, worth every melting bite! Great for dipping with the complimentary garlic bread that they served. The main entrée was delightful, but the sides sucked. Served with a side of spaghetti and tomato sauce was weak — I didn’t like it — no flavor to the pasta, and the tomato sauce was also bland and weak. It tasted so watery — even Barilla(pasta) and Prego(tomato sauce — tasted better). It also comes with a side of minestrone soup, which was watery in the beginning, but the thick consistency got better after I dipped my garlic bread into the soup. Hmm, maybe I should have opted for the salad — my coworker’s salad looked really good. Our meals also came with complimentary: PIzzarosa(absolutely loved!!! — Cheese lovers, unite here!!! Made with feta, mozzarella, parmigiano cheese and fresh tomatoes). My absolute favorite appetizer dish!(Too bad you only get to sample that once, lol!). We also got sautéed mushrooms — sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and it’s oh, so good! Finally, garlic bread — a lot of butter and garlic, which was awesome, but don’t overload on it, otherwise you can’t eat your meal, lol! The final complimentary item was a slice of tiramisu cake — it was refreshing, not overly sweet, moist, and a great way to end the meal. I also got a cannoli dessert to go. It was creamy and delicious! The mascarpone was on point! Generous creamy filling, and the shell was thick, but good enough to easily break thru when biting, and the generous amount of powdered sugar was delightful. I also got a Sex on the Beach drink — the bartender was an awesome lady! She joked with us while mixing our drinks — bomb ass lady! My coworker bought my drink, and so I don’t know the price, lol! All, I can say, it was hella good and I got rosy pink drinks from my Asian Flush, lol! Overall, a very charming old school Italian restaurant. Service here for on point, and very attentive. If you’re entering from the back side, you’ll see two huge walls of celebrity photos. Once you get inside, you’re being transported to the old school Italian charm, so delightful, and nicely decorated for Christmas time. Though they placed us in the extended area of the restaurant, where you buy the gelato and desserts. It wasn’t as nicely decorated in there, but it held our huge, loud ass partying peeps, lol! Best all, it had four huge flat screen TVs in there displaying the basketball games, and so that was cool. Would I come back for another meal? You bet! Can’t wait to try out their other yummy meals :)

Lunch was delicious as to be expected. This place never disappoints us. This time around we decided to hit up Palermo for the lunch hour and this good old place offers you their dinner menu for lunch… yum yum! We always hit up the mozzarella salad with the delicious avocados on top and plenty of mozzarella, oh so sinly. They offer you this delicious vinaigrette dressing that rival others that lack the kick these have… making me hungry for this Salad again. Their portions are grand and hearty and so far all of the food we have had is so delish. Try their salmon, you will not be disappointed at all. My hunny ordered the ravioli with meatballs and they gave a side of spaghetti with hearty portion of sauce. The garlic bread is nice and toasty and the garlic butter melts in your mouth Try their clan chowder too. Thank you Groupon for this hidden gem in Los Feliz.

Old School is what comes to mind when I think about Palermo. Old school Italian restaurant that is probably family run and probably has been(and will be) for many generations to come. It’s cozy and welcoming and you just feel it the second you walk in. We had a Groupon($ 40 for $ 67.50) and we walked out of here completely happy and stuffed to the brim. There’s validated parking in the back too so don’t bother looking for street parking, it’s unnecessary. While you wait for your seats, the host will offer you free soda or water or whatever you want(talk about good service). My boyfriend and I shared a lemonade while we waited. Once you sit down, they’ll bring you a slice of their Pizzarosa(feta, mozzarella, parmigiano cheese with tomatoes) on the house. Eat it, it’s delicious. In fact, it was so good that my boyfriend decided to order a pizza for his entrée. We started with some jalapeño poppers(divine and so good), and for our entrees, he ordered the pepperoni and sausage pizza, while I went with the pink sauce spaghetti with meatballs. The spaghetti also comes with garlic bread and a house salad by the way if that wasn’t already enough food. We were here for a celebration, so we also ordered a bottle of their Stella Rosa Moscato and this was enough to take us right up $ 67. Now, I call that a bargain. The food was also memorable. My boyfriend’s pizza was so soft and delicious and it tasted just as good the next day. He said that it was the sausage that took it to the next level. As for me, there were some hits and misses. The house salad was just okay. The dressing was a bit too acidic for me. The garlic bread was perfect but it’s really hard to mess up garlic bread in my opinion. The spaghetti while cooked perfectly, the sauce was way off. In fact, it did not taste like pink sauce at all. It lacked that rich creaminess that I associate with pink sauce. It was so off/different that I even had to ask the server if they had made a mistake and served me marinara sauce instead. So while my spaghetti and meatballs was fine, it was not what I was expecting at all. The service was impeccable the whole night. When the host(owners?) of the restaurant found out that it was our first time at the restaurant, they gave us a free tiramisu on the house which was very kind of them. And best of all, it was good! Overall, Palermo’s really is a fantastic restaurant that makes you feel right at home. We were very happy and will be back. 4⁄5

Palermo is my go-to place for when family is in town. It reminds me of being back home in upstate NY. The portions are HUGE! Don’t expect high class or sophisticated Italian here– it is standard pasta, tasty homemade sauces. loaded up on multiple plates. I always order small portions and I always walk away with leftovers. My usual order is the eggplant parmesan. It is so good! You sit down at your table with mini pizza sticks. Your meal comes with salad and garlic bread. And then you get this whopping portion of spaghetti and eggplant parm. This is what I call comfort food. Service is always spot on, the waiters tend to crack jokes, and your belly gets full fast. It’s an experience to eat here!

My review is for their Café Presto and Wine Tasting part of the restaurant. Los Feliz area needs more coffee-shops, pastry shops, smoothie, ice-creams stores. You get the idea. We needed a cold coffee, smoothie, something like that, to drink on a hot summer day. We stepped inside Café Presto, on the side of Palermo restaurant. Nice idea for a place. Good customer service, decent prices, they are making ice blended drinks, even smoothies. We picked a Caribbean(mango, pineapple) one. Well, it was the worst smoothies we ever had, bland, it didn’t taste like anything, mushy. We knew we were in trouble when the guy behind the counter opened a package and that’s how he made it! And it wasn’t great when he sprayed whipped cream from a can on top of it. Nowadays, you can’t serve processed, pre-packaged drinks and food to people. We got some pastries, mediocre as well. Cheesy décor. Outdated restrooms. Very unhappy with my order. I feel like I want my money back. Never had this feeling since I can’t remember.

I have been coming here for years and I really enjoy this place! I hadn’t been in for a while, but came back last Sunday evening with my mother and girlfriend. Parking is $ 3-$ 5 across the street at the post office. Right when we walked in we were warmly greeted by the employees and quickly seated. The server who helped us,(a tall man with short dark hair and glasses), was prompt and attentive. He brought us three small pizza slices for an appetizer and they were very tasty. My mom and I ordered the sausage sub. It comes with peppers, onions and cheese. My girlfriend got the salmon plate with gluten-free angel hair pasta for $ 3 more and a glass of the house white wine. Everything was amazing! The sausage was delicious and my girlfriend remarked at how much she enjoyed the pasta and how flavorful the salmon was. When we were done the server boxed up our leftovers for us. We definitely plan to return when we are in the area again. Thanks for the great service and food!

Went for dinner with some friends. I always love Palermo’s, been coming here for years. Tony, the owner, is one of the nicest people you will meet. So accommodating! Food was excellent as always. The pizza Rosa is one of my Favs. Great food, great service, great company! It was an awesome night!
