This was my first time here because it’s all the way out in Hollywood. Thank goodness they have parking! The building is HUGE and definitely maze-​like. They have EVERYTHING! The staff was very helpful, asked me for all the different types of things I needed, showed me where exactly all those items were, answered questions, etc. You can pull without having paperwork filled out. They have SO much vintage things here. Also, an entire floor just of gowns. They only accept a check or PO with insurance deposit.

Being rude on the phone won’t get you anywhere. I work in the entertainment industry and happen to know a lot of creative and powerful people. Thanks to the treatment I got on the phone I will never recommend anyone I know in production to rent from here no matter how rare or special an item may be. Cheers

I was recently in a pinch to get a priest’s costume for a web commercial I was directing and producing and called up Palace based on a Google Search. When you pull up in front of this building, you’ll think the place is closed because the exterior is this faded carnival-​like façade covered with years of graffiti. When you eventually find the door, ring the door bell and get ready to enter the alternate reality that is Palace Costume.
There are thousands of square feet of costumes. THOUSANDS. Walls lined with shoes, hats, costume jewelry, and more. I was led to where I needed to find my costume and left alone. Trying to find my way back to the door proved a little bit tricky as every row just seemed to blend together. I had to use markers like «shiny shoes from ‘The Kind and I’» to guide myself back to the door.
As this is only for production companies and the studios, you need to pay using studio accounts or else personal checks. Rental rates are reasonable and the quality is top of the line.
