I disagree with everyone’s reviews about her. I think she’s a good doctor. She was meticulous and gave into my request when I asked for 3 months supply of medication. I will definitely be back. The only thing I didn’t like about her was that she wasn’t on time to see me.

WARNING: This doctor is responsible for my husband having metastatic cancer. She examined him for months and could not detect the tumor in his throat. She scoped his throat and saw nothing. A huge 3.4cm tumor was not visible to her! Not until an MRI was finally called in did she realize what the problem was. Why did she wait more than 4mos to order a scan? Then when we are diagnosed with oropharynx cancer she has absolutely NOONE to refer us to. It was a nightmare that I am still living the consequences of. It is unbelievable. How can an ENT who claims cancer to be her sub specialty not know a surgeon for referral much less not diagnose a very common cancer for ENT? I wish my husband never went to her. She has stolen his life with her incompetence. The office is also awful. Never returning phone calls etc. Rude, always difficult to get through. It’s too late for us but Save your self and go elsewhere!!!

Dr. Newman is amazing and has cured me of my chronic laryngitis. I started getting terrible laryngitis in my mid 50’s every few months that was very difficult to get rid of. I was seeing an ENT to the stars who specializes in voice disorders… treats famous singers who did NOTHING for me(what a waste of my time and money) except give me antibiotics and steroids. He then referred me out to UCLA for biopsies. UCLA told me I did not need biopsies. I didn’t know what to do. I called Dr. Newman through a personal referral to ask her advice. She looked at my laryngoscopy and stroboscopy stills and told me I have a classic case of acid reflux. She put me on a strong regimen of acid reflux meds,(why didn’t my other ENT ever tell me I had acid reflux?), sent me to a voice therapist, sent me to a GI doctor for an endoscopy, and gave me all the dos and don’t about avoiding acid on my vocal cords. She later did all of the necessary tests to rule out any abnormalities on my cords and seems very proactive about monitoring my progress. I have been laryngitis free for 6 months now and am grateful to her. She totally knows what she is doing. Don’t let her quiet demeanor fool you. She is sharp as a tack… went to Stanford Med School. If you ask her any question, she will give you a detailed, yet easy to understand, answer. I feel confident I am in the right hands. If you want a good ENT, Anita Newman is great. Oh, and the office staff is pleasant which is a plus these days. The only drawback is the expensive parking in Cedars Tower, but you can park at Beverly Center.

She is a very nice person and a good doctor. She knows what she is talking about when it comes to medicine and being a doctor. She cares too and hasn’t been jaded by the medical business. I highly recommend her! She always takes good care of me and has the time and patience to ask me how I am and I feel that she doesn’t rush.
