Sad to see NY Pizza & Pasta has closed. I didn’t find the food bland, actually quite good. I especially liked the Sicilian pie. It was light and fluffy and crispy, not a soggy mess like some make. 25 years is a long time and I hope their new restaurant is even better. I will be trying it come later this year. Good luck! If the owners read this, put a message on your phone number! The picture here on Unilocal is how I learned of the closing.

They make a really good New York style pizza and can make it however you like it. I usually get the combo with four or five toppings. One of them is extra cheese, which makes it much better. The atmosphere is a cool laid back bar/pizzeria type with flat screen televisions that are pretty new. I like the food, it is a no frills place with good food.

Gosh, I’ve tried and tried to find something good to eat here. The sauce is bland and the pizza too. The salads aren’t great either. Its time for some new recipes.

There was absolutely nothing redeeming about this place! I ordered the«Sicilian» style pizza, wings, and garlic cheesy bread. The pizza I received was not anything close to a Sicilian, rather a very tasteless cheese pizza. The wings were semi cooked with sauce drenched over the bottom half of the chicken only. Finally, the garlic cheesy bread was a thick loaf of french bread, a bunch of plain cheese, and nothing garlicky about it. It’s called spices and butter, and they are our friends! In spite of the tasteless food, it still somehow managed to take well over an hour to deliver. I wouldn’t order from this place again if you were to offer my the food free…

Love this place I should have wrote a review a long time ago but have been busy. The owner is a great guy always good energy. The food is on point as well. great place to go to watch a game and enjoy some good pizza and a salad.

I had such a horrible experience with this place that I signed up for Unilocal just to write this review! I’ve been ordering from here for years and used to get treated with courtesy and respect — however, that has all changed. I don’t know if they’ve changed ownership or what, but today I had to deal with the man that answers the phone(manger/owner?) yell at me for 5 minutes and call me a liar because he got my order wrong and didn’t believe me. I’ve never given a company $ 25 to be yelled at! Then, to make the situation even stranger, after I hung up on the guy because the conversation was going nowhere, he called me back to apologize and blamed his workers for THEIR mistake. It was never their mistake in the first place, the only wrongdoing was his rude customer service. He then put one of the guys in the kitchen on the phone as he yelled at them and told them to tell me it was their fault. I will never give this place another penny of my money. Any owner/manager that treats their customers and their own staff like that should be put on blast. After coming here for 10 years, I will NEVER support this business again. Not to mention the pizza over the years has gone from superb to bland. Zero stars

I have lived on Greenfield for years, and only recently did I begin to have a real problem here. The food is great, but the new hostess is absolutely rude. Despite beimg a regular customer(came in a two weeks ago and again yesterday) frequenting this location four or more times a month, she scoffs at me still. Four stars for food, zero stars for her, even it out at two.

We ordered from New York Pizza & Pasta last night and we were BLAH about the whole order. The crust tasted like card board, which tells me that the crust wasn’t fresh. The sauce was watery and the cheese didn’t melt and drizzle like a New York style pizza should. When I think of real New York style pizza, I think of thin, softer crust and cheesy, greasy goodness. This wasn’t it. However, the online ordering was convenient and the pizza was delivered fast, thus two stars. Overall, pretty gross and disappointing. You can taste the corners they’re cutting to save money.

I need to prepare my anus to fight battle amongst the worst of the demon foods that i have consumed. Their thick crust is mushy and is filled with disgust. Its like eating indian food. Nuff said.

Got the cheese calzone and added pepperoni and mushrooms. Very disappointed with having to wait over 15 mins for the cashier to come from the back and cash me out. The phone rang the entire time that I was there and no one answered it. There were several tables that needed to be cleaned up and I really don’t plan on going back.

I’ve had better pizza. One slice of mediocre Margherita Pizza cost me about $ 3. The atmosphere is weird too. Dark, uninviting, and sawdust on the floor?

So because my work is conventiently located right across the street, I thought I’d give this place a try. The atmosphere is somewhat dark, & there’s fake plastic bricks on the walls. Also the floor is covered in sawdust. I ordered a basic pepperoni pizza & the slices were huge! But the taste was not that great! Also they were pretty skimpy on their toppings — also the pepperonis were small! The taste wasn’t that great really… at all. They also don’t have breadsticks FYI. So they gave me these huge pieces of garlic bread instead. never going back.

No insalate, antipasti, zuppe, pasta, carne, or dolci this time, just the pizza, please! Having skipped our usual pizza party this past weekend, we decided to make up for it mid-week with one 16″ large, thin-crust order from New York Pizza and Pasta — LA. I’m not me when I’m hungry… I gobbled up my first slice so fast I forgot to taste it! The pizza felt light enough for me to go for a second helping, though, so after addressing the initial hunger pangs, I was better able to appreciate my next slice for its distinctively oregano-filled aroma and flavor. All hands on deck! Our thin-crust pizza had a bit of trouble holding up under the weight of pepperoni, veggies, sauce, and mozzarella, especially where the pointy tips meet at the bottom halves of salty slices, so you may want to keep some cutlery handy to help you rescue slippery toppings that happen to go overboard between the box and your plate. This NY/LA hybrid Italian pie probably won’t knock you out unless it has been a long time since you’ve last had pizza, but the large we ordered does give you enough reasonably tasty slices to feed a maximum of four for just a little over twenty bucks with tax and tip. Add to that a delivery experience that is warm, friendly and FAST — the first in weeks that arrived at our door in much less than an hour — and as far as pizza takeout goes, it is worth the dough.

Pizza is average, the name«New York Pizza» is misleading, as like most LA pizza it doesn’t even come close. The ambiance is crap, the wait staff doesn’t speak good English and there is sawdust on the floor and one small TV in the corner. Nothing special, unless you’re hungry and really can’t make a decision.

Whenever I think of New York pizza, I think of huge greasy slices and pizza that feels gritty and street-worthy. Sadly, this pizza was anything but. Maybe the California sunshine and smog has tarnished the ingredients and make for a bad pizza experience? I’ve had New York pizza downtown Los Angeles and that pizza is pretty damn amazing. Maybe it’s the whole ‘Metropolis’ setting that helps? Either way, the pizza was OK, not that flavorful. I also ordered one of their sub sandwiches and it was also uninspiring.

When we first moved to the Westside, I was miserable. I couldn’t find the grocery store and every time I went out for a quick bite, I couldn’t find a place to park. Given that my husband worked really late for months on a project, I’m pretty sure I would have starved if not for New York Pizza and Pasta, which is walking distance from the apartment. The people here are very nice and you know instantly that it’s family-run. Pizza generally isn’t my thing, but my husband requires an almost intravenous supply, and he loves their pizza. I’m a fan of the pasta, which may not be super fancy, but it’s tasty and hot. And the prices are fairly low for the portions you’re given. I also appreciate the speed of delivery, given that sometimes I can’t get off my lazy behind to walk the half-mile to this place!

Starving on a Friday night, not wanting to cook, without a reservation, not wanting to dress up, and indecisive about where to go or what to eat… We ended up here b/c it was close to where we needed to go after we fed ourselves… Just your typical pizza/pasta place, with a few guys working and less than 10 other patrons in the 30 – 60 minutes period in which we sat, ate, and drank. We split a pepperoni thick crust pizza and the tortellinis w/garlic bread. The pizza looked AMAZING, but the taste unfortunately did not match the appearance. The tortellinis tasted like the frozen tortellini I’ve had from the grocery store — not bad, but I could have cooked that myself and maybe added a better sauce, which was merely a basic marinara. Not that I expected this to be a 5-star restaurant, but I was still disappointed in what I was hoping to be a good Italian find. I’ll probably go back, but merely if I was in a rush and wanted a pizza-by-the-slice.

First and last time, I’ll ever be ordering from this joint. Busy workday, and was in the mood for some carb-loving endorphins to help spice and spike up my day. I was stoked that delivery was only $ 8.50 since other places would require $ 12.00 or more. I’ve ended ordering Chicken Parmigiana and a New York Cheesecake. Here’s the kicker: I’ve ordered it exactly at 12:00PM, and it took the delivery guy about 1:10PM to get here. Seriously?! And it was funny too, since our office was the only office that faces the elevator when you come out of there, and the delivery guy was«lost.» The meal wasn’t even that great. The chicken was soggy, and the spaghetti was way too al dente. The garlic bread was pretty hard too. And to give you an idea, I’ve tried tapping it on the table, and darn thing didn’t even break! The NY Cheesecake was okay. The only real edible thing. I ended up eating only half of the portion. Not worth $ 12.00, which came out to the full delivery total. So disappointed,

NY style pizza. Can’t say I was blown away by it, however it was not bad pizza by any means either. Lunch crowd was decent, they have plenty of seating, the service was relatively quick and they keep the flat screen TV on CNN during the day time. One of the workers changed the channel when depressing news came up — I thought that was a nice touch. Not easy to find parking considering the plaza is pretty small and has a lot of other lunch place businesses next door.

Online ordering! Thumbs up! Very cool, and they WILL call you back to confirm the order. Pizza is ok, nothing special. Just a solid choice if you don’t want to do corporate fast food spots. $ 19 for a 14″ pizza + 3 toppings. So it is on the pricier side. But I don’t do corporate pizza. I’d rather go down a little farther to Pitfire Pizza.
