Reviews looked good and I was in the mood for a good bagel with lox. A bit out of the way, but decided to try it. The service was very slow and there were no other customers. i ordered chive cream cheese but got plain. Bagel was dry. Very disappointing.

Unilocal lookup for Bagels shows Nathan’s Kosherland. While true, bagels are not under its categories, neither are falafel and sushi. Yes, sushi. About 12 types of bagels, and 3 types of cream cheese. Not the biggest selection ever, but enough for this bad boy. I took 18 assorted, 4×½ pints of cream cheese, and was on my way to the office to be the best co-worker EVER. First impression: odd, after all, sushi? Second impression: could they do something with the décor? The front room is your basic deli format, and the side room with the seating has four walls and is plain Jane. Third impression: HUGE bagels. Fourth impression: day old? baked elsewhere? Makes sense. At 645am, most kitchens would be bustling, especially for a bagel place. This kitchen — totally silent. While they were fine toasted, the texture was different than the usual California, New York, or Montréal bagel. Lacked flavor, and untoasted, it was more crisp than chewy. All in all, they are okay. Sushi must be tried, I’m so curious. Best thing? Very nice owner.

I went to this place about two years ago and was given the death stare by the middle-aged woman who I perceived to be the owner. She apparently did not like my outfit. I would have left but I was on my way to a meeting and was hungry. She then proceeded to make me feel very uncomfortable throughout my meal. I felt terrible.

Very bad service. Took 45 minutes for a simple cream cheese bagel not to mention one of worst bagel I ever had. Dead cold and too chewy.

Ew, don’t eat their pasta. Not fresh. You’re probably safe with their breakfast menu with bagel and even that took 30 minutes to get although I was the only customer there. Never coming back

Hands down the best bagels in the west coast! I absolutely love this place. Even though I live no where close to Nathan’s bagels shop I will definitely be back for some. Stop in for some tasty bagels & awesome customer service!

A friend ordered breakfast food for a shiva which arrived late and after everyone left. I complained about the late delivery and all that was offered that they could donate the food somewhere even though my friend already for it in full! The fruit platter had moldy grapes and the rest of the food was not presented nicely and did not taste good. I would never recommend ordering from this establishment.

It was a 2.3 first-time AM experience, aiming to surprise brother with a fresh egg white tofu chive jalapeño bagel sandwich. Checked in: Lo and behold, free drink order offered via here for check-in. I had my eye on the fresh juice, though I had Nutribulleted beets and chard in the AM. Loathe to even honor it, proprietor reluctantly green lighted a coffee, de gratis. The bagels and bialys ordered: sadly, they tasted like PakNSave French bread from my childhood days. None of that great chewy, dense texture for which bagels are most known. Small biz owner, feel bad for being candid about the quality and flatness of their bagels. Just shaped like them, but no real McCoy.

This bagel shop is secretly known for great pizza. You can customize any order for your liking and it is cheap and reasonable pricing. Try the pizza!

They just catered my sons bar mitzvah and I couldn’t ask for anything more. The food was fresh tasty and on time. I think I can say that it didn’t come out more expensive then if I were to buy the bagels and other items from Costco myself. Their prices are unbelievable. Add my to your loyal customers!

horrible– went in to order a bagel toasted with spread. took over 15 minutes– phone ringing– on worker just looked at me. finally someone came out of the back and answered the phone instead of taking care of me. very skimpy on the spread– will not go back– stay away

Pretty bad. The chick kept trying to up-sell me on my bagel… felt like I was in a nail salon. Then she might’ve been pissed that I didn’t go for the extra-charge tomato/onion/cucumber ‘cuz she barely schmeared any cream cheese on my bagel. And $ 3.50 is WAY too expensive for the stale thing I ate. The worst, however, was the sushi chef: While the owner, who was actually very nice, was toasting my bagel in the back, I asked the sushi guy(sushi and bagels?) what the soup was and he was so repulsive! «I just do sushi! I don’t touch that!» I said, «I don’t care. You don’t talk to the customers like that!» Of course I spoke to the owner about him; either way, I’ll never step foot in here again.

This review is for their bagels only. I haven’t tried their salads or soups. Just a bagel. And just one bagel. With cream cheese. So if you feel that’s not a fair sample on which to base a review, read no farther. But I’m not going back to eat more bagels there, because I didn’t think that bagel was very good. Many years ago I worked in a bagel bakery as a summer job. So I know how bagels are made, how they’re *supposed* to be made, and have pretty strong opinions on what’s a good bagel and what isn’t. I don’t get the love for Nathan’s bagels. I know L.A. has a lot of bad bagels, and what’s worse, a lot of good reviews for bad bagels(Come on people. Bagel Broker? Really?) But Nathan’s seems to me to be just below average. The poppy bagel I had was more crunchy than chewy on the outside but a little airy and not very flavorful. I think it had been boiled, as a bagel should be, but I didn’t like the texture. Maybe that’s just me. They saw me looking around and noticing their cinnamon roll bites. They gave me a little sample, which was nice. And the cinnamon roll bites are tasty. But when it comes to the bagels, well, I’ve had worse, but I always hope to have better.

Its a really nice place, they have a variety of bagels with butter or cream cheese spread. They also have sushi, I was there is the morning so I am not sure if they serve sushi for lunch. They also have a few more Mediterranean food items.

Grade: B– Whoa. This place is weird. You should come here because it has some of the most decent bagels in LA. Not good, but you can’t get a good bagel anywhere in LA. That said, this place is pretty grimy and has a very strange vibe. Strangest of all: On Saturday nights I’ve seen the place turn into a teen disco. Odd.
