Amazing! My favorite has to be the number one. I mean, it is number one for a reason. The red bean(no meat) is pretty damn good. The first couple of bites of the red bean had me confused but then it grew on me. Sweet taste that goes well with the flour. I like that they’re opened early too.

Anthony Bourdain was here so I had to check it out. I’ve had better. The dumplings and buns were mediocre at best. Very herby taste. Not as big as the ones shown on TV. The owner/manager could also be better. I was excited and being friendly when I told him«Hey, I saw you guys on TV.»… and without even looking at me he said«Yeah» then turned around and walked away. Maybe he was super busy at the time? Not really, it was just me and another person ordering food to go. The place was literally empty. Not coming back.

This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants! The Kimchi Pork Buns are legitimately heaven in bun form. Trust me, if they weren’t a million calories, I’d be a daily regular. Annnnd you know a Korean place is good when most of the people eating there are Korean. Other great items are the soup dumplings, and red bean buns! And some other reviews complained about the atmosphere being a little grungy, but it seems that a lot of the hipster/“cool” places in LA have to make up for what they lack in good food and prices, with fancy décor. This place has great food at great prices, and the bathroom is usually clean. That’s all that matters. ;-) Also, the people who work there are generally pretty friendly. We used to go at least every two weeks, and though language is a tiny bit of a barrier, we’re remembered and treated like the rest of the«regulars!» It’s awesome!

Awww man wish this place was closer to my neighborhood. Probably will go here often. Well if you ever in Koreatown, you must stop by and try this place. I heard of this place from watching Anthony Bourdain’s show. OMG I love his shows. He was right on it, this place is definitely worth checking out. We ordered the spicy shrimp dumplings, shrimp and veggie fried rice, and the won ton noodle soup. Everything was cooked to perfection and taste was flavorful. Kudos to the chef for outstanding dishes. Service was great too. We will definitely be back and try other dishes on the menu. My taste buds are screaming for dumplings. Thanks Myung for getting me hooked to your delicious dimplings. Time for me to return!

Shrimp fried rice… was blehhhhhhh! Too much veggies, very little rice, rice was too moist, and flavor was very bland even with salt added. I would not recommend shrimp fried rice at this restaurant. Save your $ 10 and just order more dumplings.

This unfortunately is one of those places on the« Unilocal groupthink» circuit in which people continually rate a place well, when in fact it is not. The place has a pile of trash right at the front door which is not a big deal except that it’s been sitting here the entire time. I ordered a beef soup with fried dumplings and got something completely different. I informed the waitress of the mistake and she got upset. She said that I had to keep this even though I did not order it. She eventually snatched the bowl away and muttered something in Korean. When she came back, the soup was obviously the broth of the other soup with just meat added to it. I know this because one soup has egg and the other doesn’t. And if that’s not bad enough they brought out charred dumplings with a burnt taste. I know everyone has different experiences but my visit was just not good. I added a star because even though the waitress was talking about me in Korean, she was kind to my face. Eat at your own risk. On to the next.

I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the boiled pork & kimchi dumplings were here. It was obvious they were handmade as every single one had a unique shape, but the best part was the filling and the chewy skins. They were meaty, a bit spicy by the kimchi, and the generous portion consisted of about a dozen pieces. The banchan was MEH. Kimchi was fresh so adding a little vinegar gave it a kick, the soy pickled radish paired well with the dumplings and the sliced cabbage was just a plate filler. Thank god the dumplings tasted good on their own. They have all sorts of dumplings with a good variety of fillings. The only non-dumpling items were a few soups and a fried rice. Not much of an ambience but they seemed to do a killer takeout business.

Hello — they have a parking lot and they’re tucked into a small strip mall in Koreatown that allows for a stop in and some proper hot food very quickly. More than welcome to come in for take out, but there are a few tables for seated service. Despite the fact that Anthony Bourdain rightly blew this spot up on his show a few years ago, they don’t have an attitude or intimidating lines down the block — which is a super plus. Dumplings that are the size of your fist and come with an array of banchan are great but honestly just come in for some hot soup and a few steamed cuties, and you’re good to go. The ladies behind the counter don’t shame you for not speaking Korean(extra internalized guilt for being Korean adopted and having the face but not the tongue!) Get the dumpling soup — while scorching hot(temperature wise), the gift of cooled down moist dumplings is way beyond the gross descriptor I just gave it. Add a little vinegar to bring out the taste and fucking a million plus stars for their incredibly garlicky and delicious kimchi.

Hole in the wall place in a shopping plaza in Koreatown but wholly delicious! My dish of choice was the fried dumplings packed full of shrimp, pork, and vegetables. All of which came with kimchi, cabbage ‘salad,’ and other fixings like sweet chili sauce. Honestly, I could have easily had two plates worth of those fried stuffed pillows(at least). I also would’ve really enjoyed eating my way through the menu. However, I recommend you pace yourself and save some room for the steamed red bean buns. While small in stature, the place has big taste and fantastic service. Don’t forget to accompany your meal with a frosty 22oz beer, a perfect pairing to the dumplings. Plus-They have frozen dumplings for those who can’t get enough.

I can’t believe that it’s taken me this long to write a review for Myung In Dumplings considering the amount of times we go there and order the same thing, all the time! My boo and I always split the shrimp and pork dumplings and also the rice cake dumpling soup. Can you tell we’re into dumplings? When the dim sum and xiao long bao spots are far to get too in K-town, this place usually satisfies the dumpling urges for us. It helps that they’re open late and there service is fast. I don’t know why, but I’m also in love with their kimchi. They put tons of garlic in their kimchi, which my boyfriend is not a fan of(especially when I eat two servings of it, hehe…) but I can’t get enough of it. I think it’s a great compliment to our dumplings and their pickled cabbage is a great cool off banchan to the kimchi spice. It’s street parking but we usually don’t have a difficult time finding parking and we get there after the meters expire. On cooler nights or when it rains, this place is a great alternative to soondubu jjigae. You can also walk here from The Line if you wanna sober up from a night of drinking. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Have you ever had really cheap, questionably made dumplings? The kind that’s been made and frozen months before you got there? The kind with dangerous meat? The kind that will have you clenching your stomach in pain for hours? Well, if that’s what you’re looking for, then welcome — you’ve found it. I am appalled by the conditions of this«restaurant.» The facilities are beyond dirty — they are grimy and look like they haven’t been scrubbed in at least months. I’m not just talking about the tables — I’m talking about all of their facilities, especially their kitchen. And the food is not just old, it’s ancient. If you go back into the order counter and the kitchen area, you’ll see rows upon rows of freezers. They have enough food stocked in freezers to feed an obese family of twelve through a long ice storm and famine. I saw them making dumplings to put in these freezers. The amount that they squeeze into these freezers is completely unreasonable and unbelievable. If you don’t believe me, I took a picture of one of their many freezers(see below). Their cheap business model is apparent when you eat their awful food. It’s completely unappetizing and terrible. The meat has no flavor at all except for this odd sour taste. The unpleasant taste in your mouth is only enhanced by the bitter and rude attitude of the waitresses(who we noticed served all of the Asian people way before us, and kept us waiting for maybe another half an hour, despite that those people came in long after we arrived and ordered much more than we did). The food here got both me and my girlfriend very sick. We not only wasted our money on a terrible frozen meal prepared way too far in advance, but our night was ruined after that because we vomited for hours. Our stomaches continued to hurt throughout the next day. How does this place have such a good rating? It’s because people just don’t have any taste. There are good and cheap food options out there. There are tons of them. But just because it’s cheap or popular does not mean it is good. Sometimes, such as this time, it’s terrible.

Loved this place. Little hole in the wall with great food and an excellent price. My favorite was the #8 fried pork and shrimp dumplings, the #10 pork and vegetable bun was also excellent. With 6 of us our bill came out to $ 54 and couldn’t move and had left overs. I will be back.

I was very impressed. I had the beef rib soup and 4 different dumplings with 3 other friends. We finished i all. The quality was pretty good. I loved the pan fried dumplings. The steamed buns were great too. I would definitely come back. The spicy daikon pickles are dangerous. They are VERY spicy and bite you in the back of the throat. This is a warning. The kim chi was good quality too. Come with friends so you can treat it like dim sum. The more people you have the more dishes you can eat. The buns are huge.

I love specialty restaurants that focus on one thing, and do it well. Such is the case with Myung In. Not only does it come recommended from Anthony Bourdain himself, but a long list of my friends who have tried and enjoyed this dumpling house. We arrived at 2pm and found magical street parking right outside. That’s an omen for a good day if you ask me. We ordered dumplings prepared in multiple ways: steamed, pan fried, boiled, and the breaded steamed version. I’m pretty familiar with Korean style dumplings. Growing up in Hawaii we would eat mandoo [deep fried Korean dumplings] and they were my absolute favorite. And then while living in Philadelphia in a Korean populated area I learned more about the steamed and boiled versions as well as the breaded version. The dumplings here definitely stand up to some of the best I’ve ever had and this is a worthy stop for you if you love dumplings of any kind with the Korean style meat stuffing. The service here is brisk, efficient, and fast! We got our water, Bonchon, and food within a matter of minutes. My personal favorite of all the ones we tried was the panfried ones because it reminded me the most of mandoo back in Hawaii or Japanese style panfried Gyoza which I also love. The boiled and steamed versions were definitely more plain and required bit of dipping sauce for more flavor. I would definitely stop back here if I was visiting K town in Los Angeles again.

Myung In Dumpling has a very simple menu. It smells exactly as I would expect(kimchi). The restaurant has a very home style feel to it. The hostess/server is Korean and can speak English(always a plus). I ordered their pork, shrimp, and vegetable pan fried dumplings. At first bite, they are perfectly fried with a nice crisp outer shell, but the inside was too wet. I gave it a few minutes as I ate my Juk gae jang. I haven’t had it in a while, but it seemed light in noodles and shredded beef. All in all, I really enjoyed this place. No valet and parking is a major plus.

Came here on a Monday morning and we were the first ones there. Read on Unilocal that there will be a wait so we decided to go early to beat the crowd. Ordered: King Steamed Dumplings with Pork and Kimchi — Huge dumplings… or should I call it bao(in Chinese). This is as big as my hand. Came in an order of 4 for $ 8. The filling was pretty good, but nothing too special about it. King Steamed Dumplings with Sweet Red Bean — same size as the pork and kimchi dumplings. In my opinion, the fillings in this bun is too sweet for my taste. Chinese have similar buns and they are smaller. Boiled Dumplings with Pork and Kimchi — This is probably the best dish of all. We tried to order other boiled dishes but they were sold out from the night before. Pretty tasty with the sauce they give you once you order. Overall, nothing too special about this place. The dumplings are freshly made and tasted good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

We chose this place cause we saw a picture of Anthony Bourdain in a Unilocal review so we thought, «if it’s good enough for him to eat here… we should try it!» We ordered the king dumplings, dduk Mando gook, and yook kaejang. Three sides came out first(pickled radish & cucumber, kimchee, and«salad») followed by the king dumplings(4 to every order). The dumpling was just as I imagined. Fluffy, Piping hot, flavorful, and filling! We should have known better than to order soups from a dumpling place but I am feeling a bit under the weather so I wanted something warm. The dduk mandoo gook(dumpling and rice cake soup) was a bit bland, shallow in flavor(like the broth had been just recently made verses a bone broth that has been simmering for hours). The dduk was a bit mushy and didn’t have the thick chewiness I prefer… it fell apart easily. The mandoo? Perfect! Especially with the soy sauce that they brought to the table for the king dumplings. The yuk kaejang was spicy but like the other soup, lacked depth. It still ws good but not what I was expecting. This place is a 4 star for a dumpling shop but the soups were a bit meh.

Oh my gosh! So hubby and I saw the episode of Anthony Bourdain on Koreatown where they visit this restaurant and as soon as we saw it we bookmarked it on Unilocal to visit soon. Well that day came and we decided to visit and try all these dumplings goodness! It was very tasty, I really enjoyed their pork and kimchi dumpling — it was delishhhhh!!! By the way they were huge for an order of 4. We got their fried rice which I regret because I felt like a big ball of potato afterwards on how full I was. I will be coming back because I want to try their other dumplings. Oh and I forgot to mention, they don’t charge tax and it’s so CHEAP! They also have a parking structure you can park in.

When I am craving dumplings… I always debated if it should go to Myung In or Myung Dong. So this time, I came to Myung In. I was craving the king dumplings. My friend and I ordered the pork and veggie king dumplings(4 per order) and the dumpling soup. It was my first time trying the dumpling soup and I do have to say that I prefer the dumplings they use in their soup over the dumplings the Myung Dong uses in their soups. It is definitely more flavorful and fully packed with stuffing. The king dumplings have a pillowy layer of dough that is perfectly steamed. I like to put the sauce from the jalapeño/radish side dish(Jjang a chi) on my dumpling instead of the soy sauce.
